  1. I love the way he just glides across the MCG surface. Different gait but similarly light footed as TJ.
  2. One bf poster acknowledged this: Not to mention they have beaten us in 6 GF's out of 7 we have played!😡 It was in response to this comment: Up there in my top three most despised clubs predominately due to their supporters! Hopefully, we make that 7 from 8 GF wins, this year They will have two lots of Demons to overcome: physical: our beloved team and mental: their history of GF 'colliwobbles'!!
  3. The only posts on bf that even hinted at a loss but I didn't include in the first post: Lot of over confidence in here! I'm confident too but I'm worried this place has forgotten how to deal with a loss 😭 This place couldn't deal with a loss even when we were losing a bit more regularly. How sweet a dee's win would be; their meltdown would be a joy to behold!! I would take great pleasure in updating this thread after the game!!
  4. But they have to live with the 'colliwobbles' moniker for all the GF's they have lost - one as recently as 2018. A much greater burden than MFCSS!!
  5. Let's not hold back!! LOL - Those are much stronger words than any I have read on an opp bf!! Thanks for the laughs!🤣 I wish their fans had a 'what they are saying ...' thread. Would love them to read this!! I know some ok Pie's fans...
  6. As does Maynard. There were reports to day that he is ill and other players have been unwell this week.
  7. They did to some extent across 15 pages of bf!!. I left them out as they were boring and were firmly convinced the ins would get the job done. I don't think they will!. Lipinski for one is yet to play a game this year and will be underdone. If people want to read all the bs: changes-pre-match-discussion-round-13-vs-melbourne
  8. They have been winning but their recent performances have been fairly ordinary vs bottom of the ladder sides: Sydney, Giants, Carlton, North and Eagles. At least we have had some good testing games vs Suns, Port, Freo and Carlton. They get a lot of drive from Sidebottom and DeGoey and while they have good depth it will be difficult to cover both. They also have to integrate a range of players from recent injuries, managing and suspension. We are a lot more settled.
  9. They can claim all the outs they want. The reality is that in the last QB we were missing May, had an underdone Salem, Turner went off in the first qtr, Petty went off but played out the game under duress and Max was victim to a Cox running leap with knee in the back. Played out the game but never fully recovered from the back injury. All that after they gang tackled and mauled Langdon. Nonetheless, we were in that game right until 3/4 time. In the round 21 game half our team were carrying injuries so an easy kill for them. Nothing to really brag about. They can crow and rant all they like about their 'outs' - karma for last year. On Monday, a 2021 PF revenge like performance vs Geelong would be very nice
  10. Totally lacking in humour on bf. Most clubs offer something to giggle about!!
  11. Had to wade through 20 pages on bf which was mainly bs about Collingwood, their changes and how to stop DeGoey going overseas and getting into more strife. Have omitted all that rubbish. Anyone would think they didn’t have a game coming up. I’ve left out all the unsavoury comments about Oliver. Carlton aren’t a great overlap side. They kept kicking straight to melbs zone defence. I think we are much better at providing run and overlap, and can exploit the dees using this Coxzilla to put on a clinic in a massive game at the G. Loves the big occasion in front of the parents at the G does big Coxy! So... Did Viney get looked at by the MRP or nah? The key as always v Melbourne is to keep May and Lever busy and avoid kicking down the line to them The Dees forward line is completely dysfunctional. Our defensive system should make a mess of them. This is a danger game for us, if Melbourne bring their best. The game before the mid season is always a challenge - feels like this looms as a danger game for me with players thinking about the week off. I'm sure Fly and the coaches will manage expectations within the playing group but some real challenges around selection this week It’s a bit unsettling as the past few years we’ve been the underdogs against this lot but this time we’ll be clear favs. They couldnt have been less impressive friday night but I’ve already seen in the media it’s their “mid year GF”. Seriously can these minnow clubs give us a rest from their manufactured pump up games I think it was clear we weren’t running on all cylinders the past 2 weeks whether that was intentional or not. Time to get the “All duck and no dinner” anger back out again Would be nice to make it harder for them to make top 4 as well, if we are top 2, the more interstate sides that finish top 4 the better I don’t think we’ll select a side to match Melbournes forwardline. More likely we’ll select our best back 7 and force Melbourne to adapt to that. If they go in undersized they’ll struggle with any long ball in the fifty. Gawn, Oliver & Petracca had the ball on a string last time we played them, and we still beat them. Not too worried about this game, Melbourne are our bunnies Be afraid everyone, Grundy has asked for the first bounce Woohoo! First clearance to the Magpies Might forget who he plays for and tap it straight to Pendles Irrespective of the Ins and Outs this week, based on recent form and Melbourne's woeful performance last week, we should easily account for the Demons. Yeah, I watched bits of that game and both sides were garbage. Melbourne were only slightly better than Carlton. Melbourne will be all huff and puff for the first 10 minutes and then we'll just smash them Pies to once again, make Lever and May redundant as we always do. Miochek to kick 4. Pies by 17. Lippa is a good in, but let's not build him up to be Chris Judd. Have no idea on the ins, only thing I know definitely is that I can't wait to beat Melbourne. Up there in my top three most despised clubs predominately due to their supporters! My Favourite, sort of: I tipped Melbourne by 20pts in my Tipping This has been the most ungracious lot of opp comments I have come across since Essendon. Not one ounce of respect. Anyone would think they are the recent premiers! I so desperately want us to beat them. Wipe the smile off their sneering faces. Importantly we need to break the string of losses vs them before we meet them in the finals. Get a bit of the psychological edge back. Reckon, we have this!! Dees by a heart-stopping 9 points!!
  12. That is cruel...I take it you aren't fond of animals...
  13. This looks trickier than your brainteasers, Mr D! What am I missing about the red dot (when not in an art gallery)??
  14. Thank you. Excellent!! Hadn't heard of him before. I can 100% identify with what he says. I guess being a 'visual learner' makes it easier for me to see the info in data and relationships between different sets of info. Excel and other tools help present it in more digestible formats. But I didn't hear him speak of the 'red dot'. A 'red dot' for me is when a piece of art in an exhibition is sold....
  15. Not directly nor even indirectly related but this comment reminds me of one of my pet hates of how poor the typical AFL sports writer is at presenting info. Sometimes, it is necessary to scroll through reams of data when they could put it into a table and it be so much more easily understood. eg Fox footy have 15 tipsters fox-footy-afl-tipping-for-round-11-2023-expert-tips and there are about 10 pages on a laptop to scroll through. Many many more on a mobile device. How much more meaningful would this be: And that is without making it 'pretty'. It isn't just Fox - all mainstream AFL outlets do a very poor job converting data to information in easily digestible formats.
  16. Love you too, Layzie ❤️💙. A simple Excel table earns me such undeserved flattery, albeit in jest!. But I'll take it.🙃
  17. Votes: 10 Christian Petracca (MELB) 8 Steven May (MELB) 5 Jake Lever (MELB) 4 Ed Langdon (MELB) 2 Harry McKay (CARL) 1 Jacob Weitering (CARL) Coaches Split" 5/5 Petracca 4/4 May 3/2 Lever 3/1 Langdon 2/0 McKay 1/0 Weitering Good to see Langdon get votes from both coaches. A good time to hit form. Looks like Goodwin gave at least one of McKay or Weitering votes. Leaderboard (top 10) 63 Zak Butters PORT 63 Nick Daicos COLL 61 Christian Petracca MELB 52 Zach Merrett ESS 47 Jordan De Goey COLL 45 Matt Rowell GCFC 44 Noah Anderson GCFC 44 Marcus Bontempelli WB 43 Connor Rozee PORT 43 Tim Taranto RICH Petracca closing in on the leaders. All top 10 played this week so the top 3 should stay the same despite the bye.
  18. Thank you. It is the simplest Excel Table possible. Takes no time at all. Just a reordering of the AFL Fixture in Ladder order, using the 'copy/paste' function. Then add red and blue and some random colours for highlights. Same approach for the 'Contracts' Table.
  19. I'm hoping our top 2 position is locked in by round 23 so the Sydney result won't be too critical. Yes, a win coming up vs Pies. Must win to get the monkey off our back and have them question their credentials against us come finals...probably the GF!!
  20. Also posted this in the Contenders/Pretenders thread . Recently I posted about remaining 8-pt games and a teams opportunity to gain % boosts ie most likely vs the bottom 6 teams. Summary below. Right hand column shows total 8pt games. Not very scientific but gives a good picture of the Run Home. The rationale of the commentators saying we have the hardest draw is flawed imv!! I reckon we have the easiest draw of contending teams. Setting aside that any team can win on any given day, The 'easiest' draw is Demons, Saints and Bulldogs with six 8pt games only two of which are vs top 4 teams. The 'hardest' draw is Geelong with 10 of the last 11 being 8pt games, 5 of which are vs top 4 teams. They may not even make the 8 if Sydney and Freo get on a roll. Pies will have to fight out the season with games vs Cats, Lions and Bombers in last 3 rounds. Similarly Lions have a challenging last 4 games. Cats will have to fight in every game; no resting of players this year. Top 4 locked in. Other contenders not convincing of late. Dees will probably be top 2. We play 5 of the bottom 6 sides to see out the season. (6 of the bottom 7 if we count Sydney). Suns are the team to watch. They won't make the 8 but they will have a very big say in who does!! A very different run home for us than 2022. We will have the chance to manage injured players enabling us to be one of the 'freshest' contenders going into the finals.

  22. The email arrived this afternoon with Ticketek '(GA) ground entry pass' tickets enclosed.
  23. No chance of a rookie! After all he was pick 5 two years ago. His trade value would slide but not that far!
  24. iirc he was touted as a fwd/ruck back up. Always expected to need time to fill out and develop. Others fwds with his build iare King x 2, Daniher, Hipwood etc. GCS won't do a Bowes type deal but they may trade him for a second round pick!
  25. Did we dodge a bullet or should we bring him home?. He was very grateful for his time in our Academy which we continued even after the AFL changed the rules stopping us from drafting him. Reckon he would still feel some of that TLC and support and we are a much more stable and better club than GCS. He is OOC in 2024. GCS have a history of getting poor value for trades. JT stays close to prior draft targets and and I reckon we should bring him home!
