I feel confident in my own game and ability and know I have a lot of improvement left in me." I'm not sure he realises that effort isn't enough; skills count, playing the team game counts and most clubs will put their development resources into a youngster rather than improving a 27 yo. Hope his manager gives him another narrative and promotes him properly to other clubs. Despite being fairly shattered there is no hint of criticism of the club. Integrity plus, Jack.

LOL! I felt a bit the same when I was overseas for a time early this year on how to keep the 'Membership' thread updated! If you like I can update this thread for the next few weeks till the end of trade period and then see how your time is. I've always thought of it as 'rfpc's thread so it is yours whenever you want it back.

Her grandfather Don Cordner won a Brownlow and Captained the club. Two Cordners are in our Team of the Century. Each week he goes to a lot of trouble to write up how each senior player has performed. His descriptions are insightful and balanced, without hyperbole or favouritism. There is a video on the HS website which I can't get to as not a subscriber. But the caption says: " RE-SIGNED Melbourne forward Jesse Hogan has sacrificed at least $1 million to stay loyal to the Demons under a deal that secures him to the club until 2019." Whatever the figure is is not important But it does support his press conference comments that his decision was not about money. Also, In his press conference he said ...if there was a time to go back to WA it was now...so his future is in Melbourne (paraphrasing). That should dispel any lingering doubts about him chasing the $$ and his commitment to the Dees. Now we can enjoy watching him tear up the G for the next 3 years!

Just listened to this morning's trade radio interview with Mahoney and he said that all the young players we wanted to sign up have been. We will be looking to sign up Salem and Weidemen early in the new year. So that would really lock up our young talent for a few years!

Is it possible he is part of the Hibberd player/pick trade that Mahoney talked about this morning? Can't believe I'm about to say this: Trading Garland would free up a list spot to upgrade Wagner or Smith. Garland is someone whose loyalty has been over and above the call of duty. Up there with Trengove, N. Jones, Watts and Grimes when it comes to loyalty. Would be so sad if he was to go out 'free to a good home'.

Now have a sound midfield Focus is defence - Melksham and Hibberd will be good experience. We are also looking to get a ruck/forward Dunn indicated frustrated at not getting a senior game and will look at opportunities. So will trade if he finds another club. Re Hibbered: might be our pick 26 but it could involve other picks/players The Hibberd trade looks a bit cryptic - wonder what that deal might look like. Collingwood are no longer interested in him. Western Bulldog Lin Jong weighing up offer from Gold Coast Suns as Collingwood withdraws Beveridge has shown he can make the tough gutsy calls: suspended Boyd and Cordy, dropped Stringer. We will never know if Lin Jong showing his intentions cost him his spot in the GF. But if the decision was 50/50, even 60/40 in his favour, between him and a player who was loyal and committed to and trusted by his mates and the team (which is what they thrive on) that Beveridge would back the loyal player. I would say Lin Jong has paid a high price for venturing into enemy territory during the year and showing his hand early. Moral of the story: don't trust Collingwood.
