Not really. He isn't doubting Jackson's value, more where is the best fit for him and at what cost. And in his view the best fit is West Coast. I reckon Jackson will be a fabulous player but would he as highly rated as he is now, if he didn't have one of the top 3 mid-fields of this century to partner him? The real test for him will be when he has to play predominately one position as the main man be it fwd or ruck week in and week out. We won't know that for a few years.

His form this year has been poor. And when Salem returned someone had to go out and it was Rivers. Also, during a Casey game a commentator (Libby Birch, I think) said he was at Casey to improve his kicking. I've not seen any other info about him.

Is this the article that references? why-luke-jackson-shouldn-t-be-priority-for-fremantle-and-melbourne My take of it is that is about each club prioritising Jackson. ihv, Jackson doesn't fit Freo's list needs as he is a ruckman first but Freo are expecting him to primarily be a forward. And that Melbourne should make Gus a higher priority than Jackson.

Based on The AGE, AFL and some Fox tipsters we are the underdogs. We'll show 'em! Dees by 3-5 goals.

Goodwin said we will certainly have a player to keep watch on Stengle. Same question I posed a few days ago, is it: Hibberd, Salem, Gus or Hunt? If Hibberd has carryover soreness from last week and only a 5 day break, I would bring in Hunt.

When mfc move them from the 'Rookie' list to the 'Senior' list they do not go into the draft per se, so another club cannot draft them. We do need to use a draft pick to promote them to the 'Senior' list, usually a very late round draft pick and they count toward our three minimum national draft picks. I'm not sure if 'Rookie' players can be traded.

Demonstone's Guide To Posting On Gameday Threads

Tip: stop reading when the game start siren goes. -
And for more good measure round 4, 2021 when we beat them 12.13.85 vs 9.6.60. Had we kicked straight it would have been another mauling.

Thank you. Ooops! A bad slip up. Dogga's premiership status has been re-instated🙃 I will re-post the Table it in the next contract update - hopefully his. 🙃

What They Are Saying at Moorabool Street

Most of them have forgotten the round 4 of last year's scoreline: 12.13.85 vs 9.6.60, which flattered them. Had we kicked straight our score would have been more like the Prelim Final 'kill' of 19.11.125 vs 6.6.42. Their highest score last year was in round 23: 12.9.81 to 12.5.77 and even then it was due to accurate kicking by them. They rely on scoring efficiency rather than lots of i50's ie once inside they need to kick straight. Therein is our weapon: stop the ball getting into their fwd 50 or stop clean transmission to i50. We will win this by 3-5 goals. -
This is being discussed in the Welcome to Demonland...thread but I feel Disco's new contract deserves more widespread exposure and recognition.. Already shown he works hard, has the right attitude and is very courageous. A real keeper! The club announcement says he will remain on the Rookie list for 2023 then promoted to the Seniors in 2024. TURNER EXTENDS CONTRACT WITH DEES Mods, please merge with the 'Welcome' thread if you think more appropriate.

Another one bites the dust!! Updated for 'Disco's' new two year contract. Club statement says he will stay on the Rookie list in 2023 and will be promoted to the Seniors in 2024.

There are eight interstate clubs and three Vic clubs smaller than us (North, Bulldogs and Saints). That is 11 other clubs that could play there each year for their nine Home games at GMBA. Rotate those 11 clubs at GMHBA for a few years. It is a terrible disadvantage for a premiership team to play at that sub standard oval. We have done well there in recent times but it is like handing them 4pts and a step up on the ladder. -
We also recruited May, Lever and Langdon around that time so there is a lot of $ to balance the sal cap. I guess there is no way of knowing if there was front/back loading and who was affected. Regardless, on a $500k package I wouldn't expect too much to be front (or back) loaded.

Says he whose 24,739 post 'Likes' would be at least 70% 'HaHa' emojis!! ET, aka #tradewhisper: I've been very well, thanks for asking.

Port Melb seems to be where Ess are playing their Home games. Our North game is either it is an error or Casey isn't available that day. If that was the case they could schedule the game on another day... We play Crows and Dockers on their Home turf. Again.

ET, its great having you post again but I still can't tell when you are joking...is the 'copper bench top' a clue? Otherwise a 'rolling eyes' or 'raised eyebrow' emojis will do fine if you are joking! TIA.

Thanks guys. None were on the club's injury report to the AFL so hopefully that means they will be fine. We can't have too many 'injured' players in a crunch game like this.

Report on Fox. Team Tips: It comes as the Dees copped several setbacks against Adelaide including Jake Lever (corked thigh), Ben Brown (knee) and Michael Hibberd (leg/hamstring), although the severity of their issues are unclear. Anyone heard anything about these? A bit worrying if any of those are correct.
-
Ess or Saints perhaps. Neither well stocked for defenders.
-
Tomlinson really blotted his copy book on Reid vs Sydney. Was all at sea. Sulked each time Reid beat him. Hasn't stood out at Casey since. He will only be depth. I wouldn't be surprised if he (OOC 2023) gets a chat along the lines of: 'we are not sure what the future holds re senior games so you might like to look for new opportunities this year'. iirc he came on a very good $ package so it would free up cap space for next year's contract renewals. On Petty: He is a defender. He is May's understudy. Leave him there.

Lately, Cameron is playing as a part time midfielder as well as kicking goals. He had 30 possessions and 10 coaches votes, albeit against North. He has 64 coaches votes for the year so is doing something right. A dangerous player than can catch teams by surprise, partly because his opp doesn't know whether to follow him to the midfield or to stay back. Will be an interesting watch. -
It is weird that TMc is still 8-10. Goodwin said last week he didn't know why it was listed as 8-10 when he said 6-7. Maybe he is now 5-6 weeks.
-
Hopefully, the umpires are switched on and give Oliver the Brownlow votes he deserves. I still find it baffling that footy fans rate/like players not from their team eg Cripps, Danger, Dusty, Bontempelli, Neale etc etc but don't rate or like Oliver.
