  1. Nealy A clean sweep! 10 Christian Petracca (MELB) 7 Clayton Oliver (MELB) 7 Steven May (MELB) 2 Jordan Dawson (ADEL) 2 Jake Lever (MELB) 1 Ed Langdon (MELB) 1 Angus Brayshaw (MELB) A fairly similar coach vote for top 3 honours. Interesting that 3 of our defenders got votes. They deserve it - a record number of intercept marks. Split 5/5 Petracca 4/3 Oliver and May 2/0 Dawson and Lever 1/0 Langdon and Brayshaw Leader Board Oliver now has a big lead. Will be interested to see how many Brownlow votes he has after round 16. 2. They rested Selwood this weekend and he was rested about a month ago plus they had a bye. Dangerfield played little more than half a game after many weeks out. They will both play.
  3. WCE does not need to split their 2022 first for two 2022 firsts to the same team! There are any number of combos of 2022 and 2023 picks with one or more clubs to get WCE two 2022 first so they can trade one and use one.
  4. Yes they can! We went down this road last week and I'm not going through all the permutations again. Suffice to say they can split their first round pick for two first round picks; trade one and use one.
  5. While Dangerfield is rated as a champion he has performed poorly in finals. He is a H & A specialist. He is no Mr September!
  6. They might if they play an i/state team. But with a chunk of KP being rebuilt I doubt it, especially as Lions and Swans have a decent following in Melbourne who turn up to their Vic games. More likely to play at Marvel. Other Vic teams will all be at the G which means not many teams will get a Home ground advantage.
  7. Not sure either will be selected this week but I just don't see Brown's 'superiority': A few of the Crow's goals came while Brown was in the ruck and they got some quick CB clearances and his field work wasn't as good.
  8. I'm tipping Cats and Dees as top two regardless of the outcome of this match. But a win for either is a massive mental victory: Cats will be playing for revenge; Dees for mental dominance. A good win for them and they will feel vindicated and go into a Final with a swagger. A good win for us and the mental scarring will be complete. Dees to win by 1 point after being 4 goals down. That should finish off their mental scarring!! On second thoughts not sure I could cope with such a close game so perhaps: Dees to win by 2 goals after being 4 goals down...
  9. A mixed bag from bigfooty: Expecting to win this. Go cats. This is the game. Without Stewart, potentially without Stanley. I’m for once, not confident at all. Can't show our full hand but Scott needs to do something different. This team has our number in recent years. We will also see how some of the inexperienced players hold up to the pressure. Z. Guthrie, Holmes, De Koning, Close, Stengle . Demons are going ok but not as formidable as the back end of last year. I reckon we are in this up to our ears on current form. If we spend half the game kicking it down lever and May’s throats like we did against Richmond we are going to be in all sorts of trouble I can’t forget the nightmares of last year. Both games V Melbourne. I can see us getting to a decent lead early and them then reeling us back in. Melbourne by 25 points. We are due for a loss and they are too good. Would like to win but quite happy to lose and take some learnings out, hopefully we can be better come finals. While a lot of the names are the same I think we are better placed to face Melbourne than last year. We could have played a couple of kids last night and still won the game. Now Dad's Army will have to front up again on Thursday night. Not expecting a win here. I just want to see if our midfield is any chance of holding it together later in the year. They should smack us in the middle. We are a good chance, but so are they, and they will almost certainly bring their best footy and they play K.Park pretty well. Ii would love this upcoming game against Melb to be at the MCG - to see how Geel would measure up against the reignining premiers on the All those years of handing them out a hiding. They will never forget it. They rested Jackson for a reason. This is the game they want. I don't see us beating them for a while yet. I wouldn't care if we lose but if we could possibility unearth 1 or 2 flaws in their game so that if we meet again in the finals, we can try to expose that weakness. Melbourne are beatable. Put pressure on and get good ball to our forwards. Big game to show we are not just a top contender but we are here for the main course. Yep. That round 23 defeat imo gave them the belief to win the flag. Massive sliding doors moment. My favourites: I knew i shouldnt have tried to have a proper discussion with you. Because honestly it is like dancing with a Cobra snake Memo to players and coaches: if the game is close in the final minute and we have possession of the ball, DO NOT : Kick out on the full Punch the ball into the stand giving away a 50m penalty Fail to man up on Max Gawn at the top of the goal square
  10. Looks like Geelong have a few outs: Stewart, Kolodjashnij and possibly Stanley.
  11. Geelong are also on a 5 day break. If we flew back after the Crows game dees players would be home about the same time as Geelong's. All equal there. Dangerfield played only 62% game time so it was just a training session for him. They have rested a lot of players but we have had multiple back to back 8/9 day breaks should be equally fresh. Other than the obvious changes one I would consider is who takes Stengle. Is it Hibberd, Salem, Gus or bring in Hunt who has an outstanding record on small forwards this year?
  12. But first, the Cats at KP. As one sided as a crowd can get! Be ready for 'frees from crowd affirmation.' No crowds helped us with the umpiring in rnd 23 last year. And Max had the Prelim crowd eating out of the palm of his hand. Hostile territory this time.
  13. I think Lever was facing Fogarty but it was still unwarranted away from the field of play.
  14. I'm not sure if it is across the board but I reckon Clarrie gets a raw deal from the umps. Won the coaches award last year is well ahead so far this year. Will be interesting how he fares this year in the Brownlow.
  15. My assessment: Kozzie's by far the lesser of the three: was in play, careless, low force = Fine. Fogarty: behind play, deliberate, medium force (I think Lever went off after it) = one match but it won't be rated as that, More likely low impact so just a fine. The forearm to Clarrie's head: High contact , low/medium force = one match but mist likely a fine if at all. No discussion on it in the media so MRO may just overlook it.
  16. Wherever it was it wasn't warranted. Wouldn't be surprised to see Fogarty get a deserved fine: deliberate, behind play. What I particularly didn't like was a commentator saying Lever dropped too easily. Sick of commentators making out our players stage when hit. I reckon that is why Clarrie didn't get a free for the wallop across his head, umpires think he stages so doesn't get much protection.
  17. Anyone else notice the friendly banter Walker and Lever were having after the game. Maybe hatchets have been buried.
  18. It was rather odd to hear Ricciuto say Fogarty and Lever didn't like each other. They were never team mates, in fact Fogarty was recruited with the pick Crows got for Lever. And they would have only played against each other 2 or 3 times. Odd. And as for saying Lever 'got into' Fogarty for what was a gentle push to the shoulders, well Ricciuto has gone soft if he thinks that is 'getting into'. It certainly didn't warrant the punch to the stomach from Fogarty in return.
  19. I think top 4 is almost a lock for us as we are 2 games and 27%, effectively 3 games ahead of 5th as it isn't easy to shift % at this time of year. Lions and Freo are more likely to dropout of top 4. But their top 4 chances were improved by the Blues and Swans losses. With the wins to Ess, and Saints, Eagles wanting to be a top 8 'disruptor', Port and Bulldogs fighting for the eight, and the Giants finding their mojo, no team in the top 10 has an easy run home. Given this 16 and % could be enough for Top 2. If so our chances of Top 2 are greatly enhanced with the lead we currently have.
  20. Yes he is. And his value would be higher. Chandler is one who might chase senior game time next year as we have a bit of a long queue of small forwards. He was given a two year contract last year, the first as a rookie the second as a senior player. We did the same with JJ two years ago and might do the same with 'Disco' if the rumours of a two year contract are correct. It will depend on list spots and sal cap for 'Disco'. For Chandler and 'Disco' we will need to use a draft pick to promote them to the senior list. But these will probably picks in the 70-90 range so do not affect our other drafting.
  21. Lets make sure our facility is finished before the AFL and Fed gov't start putting money into a Tassie stadium.
  22. I think I misread the 'To Win' column. I realise now that is to win the Premiership not to win today... Clearly I know nothing about betting!! But it should have been intuitively obvious. Hope you lose your bet!!
  23. @WalkingCivilWarif you have bet your usual bet against us and the Crows win you will have quite a windfall: they are $751 to win!!
  24. Look for the redhead in the cheer squad!
  25. Probably because said journalist has excellent contacts and has done her homework! Oh, and her English grammar and vocabulary are pretty good. So nothing to fault except what can't be seen and is petty.
