Maybe but I recall most of his kicks were 20 m out & mainly directly in front. I still maintain that our fwd line for most of this year & 2 thirds of last year has been pretty shambolic.
-
Just wake up did u ?
-
He has been generally average to solid at Casey. Maybe its compensation for the May incident.
-
I'm not bagging him just thinking that u probably need to have been a fwd to coach the fwd line. Would u appoint Nev Jetta or Nat Jones as ruck coach ? The fact that individual players have done well is good but as a group it still aint working. The fwds lead to the same place & get in each others way. Spargo pressures well but his crumbing is poor. If nobody marks it then the opposition sweeps it away easily. When we do well & win as in the GF its because of ruck & midfield dominance & our defence being on top, its rarely due to our fwd line.
-
Its also a fwd line that struggled for half of 2021. In the last 6 weeks it has mainly struggled in the second half of games. Often BBB, Max & Fritter all lead to the same spot & last week Geelong defenders had very little pressure applied to them.
-
Greg was a run of the mill ruckman & I was very surprised he got the fwd coach job. Seems like a nice guy but I'd have thought that u need to have played a lot of footy in a good forward line to get the gig. Maybe a Sav Rocca or Stevie J or P Sumich. I think our fwd line has been mostly dysfunctional since he took over.
-
He should play for free given he barely played for 2 seasons. He failed to deliver a flag for the Swans & it meant they offloaded Toby Nankervis, Mumford & Mitchell to meet their salary cap. Gives away frees & carries on like a sook when they don't pass the ball to him.
-
Sadly Geelong seemed to be the team taking risks & using creative kicks to open up play. Melbourne looked like a tired old Geelong side of 2021 doing the same stuff for no results.
-
What the hell has happened. It used to be elite, a real weapon. Now he shanks 1 to 2 kicks a game. Misses 30m kicks when not under any pressure.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - FRASER ROSMAN

I'm with Binman here. Not sure what "developing nicely" means but McVee hasn't done anything this year & is lucky he has a 2 year deal. As for Smith I reckon he has gone backwards this year. -

Think thats mainly because Dunstan, Munro, Chandler, Baker, White etc are dominant at the contests. -

Would want to have a solid finish to the year to earn an extension. Watched him closely the last 2 games & he turned the ball over a few times. -
Am I the only one who thinks this is over the top. People also got super excited by Josh Wagner. I thought Turner has been average at Casey & ordinary in his debut. He got easily outbodied by Mihocek. Good luck to him but have seen nothing to excite so far.

Yes some comments here about Casey players border on the absurd. Bell is barely VFL reserves standard (if they had reserves). Tries hard but clumsy in the extreme, slow & can't mark kick or handball.
-
There is no evidence for most of your comments. Its pure speculation. Most teams have 2 or 3 specialist rucks & 2 or 3 part timers. Specialist ruckmen will always be part of the game.
-
No foresight there. Sadly Austin wasn't close to VFL standard. Couldn’t ruck, mark, kick or handball.
-
Unfortunately these days TMac often takes several games to build some form
-
Another Demonland comment made without a shred of evidence.
-
Come on now this is the Demonland forum. Facts come in a distant fourth behind outrage, pomposity & self righteousness.
-
I think your making this up. I saw no evidence either of those 2 regularly got 30 touches in the VFL. Happy to be proved wrong.
-
Keep it in perspective please. I love Jack as well but one of the greatest efforts ???? Lets not demean past champions. I've seen Gary Hardeman, Big Carl, Ray Biffin, Laurie Fowler & others all bleed for the club & lead from the front.
-
Out BBB continued his woeful form. Got outmarked again & again. In Tomlinson. Has to be an improvement.
-
I also agree that she is generally a good journo but at times she gets it badly wrong & she sometimes has double standards. And her series of articles on the tanking issues was absurd.
-
Dunstan needs to play well when he gets the chance. He has been underwhelming when he's been given an opportunity.
-
Sadly I think you'll find that in both AFL & Rugby some desperate Club will always offer talented players another chance no matter how corrosive they are. Even Carey got another offer.
