  1. A late second , early third rounder i’d think ( at best) and we’d agree to cover a fair chunk of his salary too i imagine. BUT it’s posssible that is still worth it if the club thinks he’s not going to get better. Or if he IS genuinely cooked injury wise then come to an arrangement w his salary and retire him. Perhaps keep him on in some coaching capacity to offset that as when he could run he was a fitness beast.
  2. Not sure if it’s been said here. But could be Jack is carrying a serious injury re his foot and u der stands his career will not be a long one. needs to maximise his income.
  3. Took a great mark in the last and then slotted it, under immense pressure, in a finals type game. Gotta give the guy a bit of love here too.
  4. I get it’s been a tough year to be a dee ... on top of Covid . But gotta give some credit where it’s due Biffen. I thought that GWS team last night was really good and playing with an intensity they’ve been missing. Commentators saying it was one of the best games of the year.
  5. He gives out team such a different look. A great recruit. Tough, clean with his hands and gives us run. Like a breath of fresh air.
  6. Exactly. So many folks want to tar and feather the guy. He has a role for us and as long as he isn’t jumping over may and lever I reckon he’s a keep. how good to wake up today with season alive, the young guns shining and goody so animated on the ground in the last qtr. the club showing they have a heartbeat and a future. now.... just gotta to weid functioning again!
  7. Well, at least ONE did. The bulldogs did and had their travel arrangements changed. You may be right re the Essendon game but right at that point no one knew how many times it would be happening in the year . There was the possibility of multiple forfeits which would kill the TV money. That was a losing battle but playing on the same day as flying was a fight we could and should have won.
  8. Interesting to me that he said " ruthless as a whole club" When you think that the Bulldogs just had their travel schedule altered so that they don't fly and play on the same day and were " outraged" to be asked ...it made me connect the dots a little. Some yes, but not ALL of this is on Goody and the players. Where the [censored] was the pushback and outrage from our president? There is no WAY the pies, the eagles, Geelong etc etc would have sat back and let that happen. There is no way they would have been asked. That single decision to stay quiet imo sent this season into free fall. The players were sold down the river by a gutless president.
  9. Your waaay too accurate lately. I hope yr wrong this week.
  10. I think Im the last one on this site who still thinks Smith can play an important role. He just had to stop jumping over the top of May and Lever...and then spilling the mark. Personally Im glad they're giving him more games. Come for me on Sunday if he's awful .
  11. At least they are straight away on to the front "foot" so to speak. Didnt try to rush him back or push it . WIsh that done that with a few others in our recent past. Smart management form the club but super unlucky for Angus. Look forward to seeing him back in the red and blue.
  12. is that from something u know from jv’s side or yr opinion about him staying?
  13. I don’t hate buckenara, but I have to say it did still hurt after all these to remember that. nowadays Eishold would have a./ run the clock down for 30 secs ( game over) b./ run around on the mark to open the angle ( gameover) or c./passed it backwards to chew up time. That day Still remains my single worst supporting memory ... sitting right next to the best ever memories from the weeks before.
  14. how do u know he wouldn’t choose to stay if goody remained? My own impression was that they had a strong connection, IF , and it’s a big if, he wanted out because of his relationship w goody then that’s a major factor and may change my current stand that i want goody to remain. but i do need to first know more about why jack hasn’t yet re signed.
  15. Why would goody agree to move sideways?? and that would be a disaster for the club if he was there but holding no power. Goody imo has to stay with better support. Looking ath the box on game day there appears to be VERY little trust and rapport. That has to be changed.
  16. Great work titan. I’ve wondered about the metrics of this.
  17. Jackson to play the last game and star. Pickett to actually kick goals from 15 metres directly in front Beating GWS and Essendon Richardson to leave and be replaced by Yze Goodwin to reevaluate his game day approach as well as his strategies.
  18. I was on the bandwagon in the draft period. It’s early days, too early to be conclusive, .but I’m certainly having doubts now. He makes so many errors in all aspects of his game and that goal he missed ...FMD. Not the first he’s missed from 15 metres either. Needs time in the 2’s and to grow up. No more games now until he’s earned them
  19. Thanks Skuit. A therapeutic read. I agree we got given a shocking draw , capped off with 2 cairns games in 4 days. I mean WTAF. This year the time between games and the amount of travel has been all important. I also get it re the loss of our experienced players Jetta, Tmac and Jones are all done now. Whats concerned me most though is the WAY we actually play ie the game style. Seems like most other sides have shot past us this year. Im ok with Goodwin staying as I feel like the players love and respond to him, but the brains trust of how to play the game needs an overhaul.
  20. yep re Pickett. Playing like an overawed school boy. For an oppurtunistic small some of his misses this year really beggar belief. Flies high but never actually marks it, crumbs the ball and misses from 15 metres. Too early to be definitive but every chance hes a bust.
  21. from memory they had also lost about 5 or 6 games by under a goal that year. so they were way better than they seemed. they then recruited both charlie cameron and lachie neil in the off season. A massive coup. btw i miss the footy too... even the queing which i always hated.
  22. it’s great therapy to look at this again. the 88 prelim and this game were my lifetime two happiest sporting moments. a finals win w 92 k in at the G... and a young forward who stepped up and fomininated in the abcense of great white hope. the club i loved was back on its feet and going somewhere... or so i thought. but let’s not dwell on that bit ! that night, getting to the ground and the lead up to the game still feel like yesterday. at the ground jones came out an hour before the game started just to walk on the oval... and the members erupted just seeing him. He laughed... it was all such new optimistic heady territory.
