The media is pushing 2 picks pretty consistently. We need “ family or personal reasons” to become part of the BH narrative and he will need to get that out there. Big decision for the young man.

Anyone ever think how different things might be IF Oliver kicks a goal rather than that OOF in the dying minutes against Stkilda and we won? Would Goody still be there? would Clayton? Would Judd? Sometimes these tiny margins lead to big changes. FWIW I think Oliver will have an outstanding season at GWS in 26 . After that… we’ll see.

Well now he’s committed to GWS it’s incumbent on them to get a deal. We’re not totally without power here.

Sadly I think Oliver will be a very good player at GWS and the change will be what he needs. He won’t be the megastar of yesteryear as his kicking will interfere with that now, but he could well be top 50 in the comp. I also don’t think, given the baggage with us, he was going to be that good for US again. The “culture” issue created at our club by our two most expensive players caring so little for the dynamics within it just had to shift. I still feel really sad to see him go (bang bang bang and all of that joy) and I also hope we get something back for him! But bottom line, new coach, fresh start I get it. Even if he finishes top 5 in the GWS b&f I will still get it. Oliver gets a fresh start… but so do the dees.

He’s inheriting this mess and trying to clean it up. So we can’t hold these losses against him. Plus as far as I can see he’s really only 0–1 . Judds loss feels the largest in terms of building.

Too early for me but I do remember when Wells left…and I had hand sewn 11 ( badly) onto the back of my jumper as a 10 year old. He told me it was crooked at training one day and I almost threw it away afterwards . So fair to say I struggled for a couple of years when he left. It’s an emotional game and our connections with players are weirdly deep. Goody, Trac, Oliver and May is a decent sized divorce isn’t it. That being said, you survived Barassi you’ll survive this…cause you love the dees. I don’t always like your posts lol but you’re a big part of the site. Hang in… let’s see how it pans out.
