  1. I know! And only getting paid a million dollars a year. The nerve. The reality is that sport is entertainment, and as a result there is a trade off in terms of a relationship between fans and athletes. The club knows this all too well - because they essentially sell access to the players as sponsorship. It’s immature to think the fans aren’t a critical part of the game - just as an audience is to a film. They (we) literally pay for the whole thing.
  2. Well, at least the Sydney game was good. 1 out of 4 🤷‍♂️
  3. Yeah, I suspect so too. I just wish the whole thing didn’t feel so much like an own goal.
  4. What did I miss with Lever? Did he have a surgery?
  5. I don’t know who I hate more in tonight’s game.
  6. But why can’t both things be true? Why do we have to pick a side in all this? Tracc has acted poorly, while also having some legitimate and real concerns about how the club is being managed. I don’t get how calling out his behaviour equals accepting that the club is all good. Both things can be true.
  7. The old ‘if at first you don’t succeed, get Tom Morris to act as your mouthpiece’ plan? Not sure it’s a great long term strategy.
  8. The AFL need to start paying a free kick against if you drop your knees like that. Someone will end up in a wheelchair.
  9. Hogan is the player he should have always been, and it’s a great story.
  10. You still play under 12’s? Aren’t the other kids a bit suspicious?
  11. This is the key to a successful year in the modern era. Most teams can afford, and have set themselves up around, 3-4 really good players. If your B graders all have a great year at once you can rise quickly. But the reverse is also true.
  12. What’s the story with Bont? Why have him sitting at half forward when they can’t win the ball?
  13. The club doesn’t leak on somethings it appears.
  14. Well in that case…. I’ve always loved you Clarrie. Don’t go anywhere. We’ve got your back.
  15. I reckon if the state government built us our own Stadium at Casey, and then we only allowed 300 opposition supporters in we’d give that record a fair shake.
  16. Except last year when they didn’t play finals?
  17. I’m very happy for any non Victorian team to win the flag, as it’ll feel like it didn’t really happen here, but… I’m super nervous about what that means for the fixture next year. AFL will be keen to recoup losses, so expect 2025 to see Collingwood and Carlton schedules for 12 games each against Richmond - to make sure they are both top 4 by season end.
  18. Yes. Doesn’t change the fact I pay for something that has literally no value.
  19. ‘If you took off your red and blue googles for just a second you could clearly see that X is happening!’
  20. Oh, I thought this bump was going to be someone selling ‘I survived Brand Petracca’ merch.
  21. We are Demons Seats Plus Undercover in M55. I need the cover for my folks as they are older. Everyone in our area was so annoyed every game. We pay $580 a year, but we won’t again because we know that for the cost of a standard $200 or so membership we can rock up 90% of the time and sit wherever. The club is very aware of all of our frustration, and have done absolutely nothing about it - which I understand is difficult, but if they aren’t protecting the value of our spend they are the ones who’ll miss out next year.
  22. This year I was a Reserved Seats member for the second season. It was a joke. 9 games I had to kick people out of our seats, and each week I was surrounded by different people, and quite often they were opposition supporters. I wrote to the club 3 times about it and they said they’d notify the MCG staff. It never got better. I saw so many people just wonder in and sit wherever they wanted. I realise to an extent it’s not the clubs fault, but if nobody is protecting the value of our memberships then it makes it next to impossible to justify paying for them. I know of 20 members in our section, and we all said we’d never pay for the reserved seats again. That seems like such a shame.
  23. I’m sad about this. We lost a really good one.
