It was touched on the line by Marchbank.

I read a little about Christian’s experience on the Howie podcast. Personally I’ve lived through some seriously traumatic experiences. I’m sure many others here have too. In the aftermath of those experiences I wanted to change everything about my life. I left countries, quit jobs, tried to outrun it all. I sympathise with Christian as a young man trying to make sense of the trauma of what he experienced. Sadly it took me a decade to realise that you can’t outrun the pain. You have to stop, rest, and process it. Worse than that, literally everybody in my life tried to tell me not to run, but I was too hurt to listen. It’s an incredibly difficult situation he’s in, and I think he’s trying to handle it like most of us think we need to - by powering on, throwing everything out, and making ourselves anew. I hope he has genuine help around him, and I sincerely hope he allows himself to listen to people that care about his long term welfare. It hurts to stop and deal with what’s happened, but if you don’t it just comes back to haunt you.

Shout out for Jesse, who has had an incredible year. I’m really happy for him.

No, the part where you said Gary Pert presently badly. I haven’t seen or heard that reported anywhere, so was asking you where you heard that?
-
Source? I haven’t seen this anywhere

She’s a Bombers fan. She needs a lobotomy.
-
My therapist is a Bombers supporter. She says half her clients just come and complain about their football club, and she has to tell them it’s much worse for her.
-
Freo look premiership favourites based on that list.

Today I’ve informed Demonland of my desire to be traded to Bomber Blitz. I’d like the opportunity to have my irrational meltdowns in front of a bigger crowd. Thanks for your understanding.
-
I think that’s what Christian’s trying to say, but don’t you find it fascinating that the ‘playing in front of bigger crowds’ argument has entered the conversation today? Didn’t hear that when all the information was only coming one way.

I think the loss of control of the narrative is the actual story from this latest development. I think the club is putting more into the public domain than we may have suspected previously.
-
I feel like the club have nothing to lose now. Christian has said what he wants and they’ve said ‘not going to happen’, but they have to weigh up the cost of keeping his attitude around if he doesn’t want to be there too. No harm in asking around, and if nothing comes nothing is lost. Might also show Christian we acted in good faith, and unless he wants to go to The Suns we’ll see you on the first day of preseason.

I don’t think there is, because it’s glaringly obvious at this point that everything is in the paper 2-48 hours after it’s communicated behind closed doors. I suggest this latest article, with 3 sources from the club, is about the club creating a sense of their truth in the public domain. I think they’ve had enough of trying to defend someone’s position that’s not defending their interests, and are now just seeing if they can come out of this with a gun player traded in. McKay’s name didn’t come from nowhere. Someone’s throwing the cat among the pigeons to see if something beneficial can come from all this. If nothing eventuates it’s not going to upset Petracca. He’s already made his feelings very well known.

This bit is wild… ’Three sources who were at Melbourne’s end-of-season function on Saturday night said there was tension surrounding Petracca’s presence and that it was noticeably uncomfortable between him and several teammates.’

We lost 10 of our last 15, so it wasn’t exactly elite. Lots of mitigating factors, but an absolute mile off where we expected to be.

I want the Prelim’s to be Sydney, GWS, Brisbane and Port - mostly because the AFL will have a heart attack at no football in Melbourne and a guaranteed double interstate grand final. I want to inflict maximum financial damage on the AFL. The last 12 months I think they’ve jumped the shark and waded way too far into the entertainment sphere with how they’ve tried to manufacture and influence outcomes to protect their interests.

Freo is the most irrelevant football club of the AFL era.

Allir and Farrell both look out injured. Blues can’t get any luck with injuries even when it’s not them playing.

7 - 0 free kicks this quarter

How many years until our next premiership?

I want to click the zero option - for when we win the AFLW grand final in November. -
This Sydney Adelaide game is completely devoid of defence.

POSTGAME: Rd 24 vs Collingwood
The heart beats true replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thinking philosophically about this game… If you told me in March that we’d play Collingwood without Petracca, Oliver, Brayshaw, Lever and May I’d say ‘we’ll get beaten by 10 goals.’ If your game is built on contest and defence, and 80% of the personnel isn’t available to execute on it, then you’re not going to win. Imagine Carlton without Cripps, Walsh, Cerra, Weitering and McGovern? -
This year is horrible

I’d support any candidate who wants to build a wall around the MCG and keep Collingwood supporters out.

He’ll make $2 million from social posts? I doubt that.
