Farewell Brodie Grundy
Hold on. I’ve never been asked this. What sort of work you doing Nev? Or should I ask what’s your Onlyfans?

I won’t know how I feel about this until Brodie’s mum makes her statement via Facebook.

Gawn’s contract may well have been loaded differently. I don’t think you can ever truly evaluate the list management of a club unless they are having a fire sale, or unable to sign key players. To be fair we have a lot of our best players on long terms contracts. We would have known Jackson’s value and offered him an amazing deal. He wanted to go home so we spent that money on a dual All Australian. To be in the position to do that reflects well I reckon.

Welcome to Demonland Pick 13
I just couldn’t handle it. Every time he makes a mistake hearing supporters yell ‘that’s trash binns’. Also, it’s not really on brand. Is there a ‘Slopes’, ‘Herringbone’ or ‘Roquefort’ available?

What about contacting supporters? Maybe he doesn’t have my email? [email protected]

Or we could just wait. Looks like we have one deal we need to get done, and this is it. If it doesn’t get done I’d say Collingwood are over their TPP. That is a world of pain. Just wait.

Hopefully we lost that hand in order to win the game. Let’s see what happens now.

Improving the Demons coaching staff for 2023?
Why do people think a great player automatically makes a great coach? Have you not worked with people who have extraordinary craft or technical skills but couldn’t coordinate others, let alone inspire them? It’s not a playing/coach role. It’s a very technical job that also requires great people skills, a passion for working with young people, and a lot of media training.

Trade and Free Agency rumours
Neither of those kids are going to do much damage in the next couple of years. Henry’s goal kicking was a huge issue in a couple of games this year, and Bruhn’s done nothing to date. Footy journalists are worse than some Demonlanders. They assume the last game they saw is the status quo. Let’s just see how the cats go if things don’t go to plan next year. A third of their side will be near the end. If it gets hard they might not have the fire left.

Josh Bruce
I think Ben Brown and the JVR are likely the replacements, but for one of them 2023 is too late, and for the other it might be too soon. I personally think Bruce is just a placeholder type of player, but I’ll still take him if he straightens us up. 👍

Josh Bruce
I get your point Kent, but I also think the club can only recruit players that are available. I’d say our preference is to get in quality key position forwards, and Bruce may fill a hole for a few seasons. Then we will likely try and increase our draft hand for this year and bring in another longer term key position player.

Josh Bruce
Are there? I keep waiting for names to appear. A bird in the hand….

Josh Bruce
Bruce is ‘chronically injured’ in the same way Lever, Gawn and Petracca are - he did his knee once. Some posters love a whinge about players being ‘chronically’ injured simply because they were injured in 2022.

Josh Bruce
The way I see it Tom Mc missed half this year with an injury that’s very hard to recover from, and Brown is playing on borrowed time, and ideally for his and the clubs sake he plays 14-16 games a year - giving him time to recover. JVR isn’t ready to play consistently week in week out on bigger blokes. Weid can’t do it at the AFL level. So if either Brown (with dud knees) or McDonald (with a dud foot) are injured we are left with not much. We know this because we saw it throughout the last 12 weeks of 2022. If Josh Bruce is half as good in 2023 as he was in 21 we’ll kick 20-25 more goals for the year, and win at least 3 more games than we did this year. He’s the best forward option linked to us this year that I’ve heard.

Josh Bruce
We lost Mitch Brown, and Bruce is an upgrade on him. It’s that’s simple. He might come good and play in a premiership, or he might play a few cameos along the way that help us protect JVR and the like. Think of him as a coverage player and it makes a lot of sense.

He was a pick 3 originally. We live in an odd world where quality players in the system for 30-50 games of development are worth less than they were 3 years ago even thought they’ve still got 10-12 years of footy to play. Something needs to change as it’s not at all reflecting the equalisation processes of the AFL.

What's next for Adem Yze?
You’d have to think that the club would have some thing in their contracts with coaches that outlines when they can’t accept a new job. Anyone know how a coaches contract works? I’m all for giving people opportunities, but not 2 weeks out from a season.
