I’ve heard the flu has gone right through Geelong this week.

How does Luke Hodge have a job? He literally describes what you’ve just seen. I know Luke. It’s called Television mate. I can see it.

I know it’s entertaining to watch, but would it kill either of these teams to play defence or switch tempo? Allowing a team to kick almost 75 points to half time doesn’t seem sustainable.

I forgot how watching the footy reminds me what absolute garbage free to air TV is in this country.

Having these 2 games start the season has really cemented my opinion that I dislike every other team.

Agree Jimmy. I know we’ve been over this a lot last year but in general I found out crowd numbers super disappointing in 2022. There’s no excuse this year. Tickets are back to how people want them, and we’ve had 18 months to acclimatise to life with COVID. If people aren’t showing up now they just don’t want to go.

I believe in redemption as a concept, but often I struggle with its application.

My scarf, card and stickers turned up today. I like that the card has my seat printed on it. It’ll make me extra smug when I point it out to some ring in whose sitting in my seat.

Good points. Would less revenue really hurt the game that much though? I feel like 16 year old Clayton Oliver would still pursue footy if he thought he’d make 500k a year, and not 700k a year. The players realistically don’t have a comparable sport, and they’d still be well looked after. The gambling money needs to go away in my view. An umpire was giving betting information to his mates. What more do we need to see before we realise it’s corrupted the game, as well as become a huge cultural problem?

I recently had been trying to upgrade my membership and get some undercover reserved seat memberships, as my folks are getting older and we decided we’d like to have guaranteed seats, GF guarantee etc. I’ve been on wait lists for months about it. Last week I got a text message saying a player might be calling me as part of a membership drive. I didn’t think much of it. Later on I was taking my dad to a medical appointment and my mum and dad were in the car. I got a call from the club but the guy on the phone didn’t seem to know what I was asking about and couldn’t help with my seat request. So, a little bit annoyed, I said to get someone to call back who knew what I was looking for. Only after I hung up, frustrated that the club had called me again without an answer, did my mum point out that I was talking to Jake Bowey. Sorry Bowser. Got my reserved seats sorted this week. Mum says hi. 😬

My favourite DL ad complaint was from a couple of years ago when someone was complaining about all the porn ads, only to go missing when it was pointed out they are targeted ads - based on your search history. Buy a subscription. It’s proven to save you from public humiliation.
