  1. Tonight's game really putting an end to the theory that Geelong are a team of front runners propped up by 4 good players. They've only got 2.
  2. Unsociable Demons. I couldn't be prouder.
  3. My mate had the same thing. Diagnosed at 25. Its ok to go to the Doctor because you're feeling 'off'. It literally saved my mates life.
  4. Sorry, but how the actual f*#k does Cotchin get to punch a bloke in the face and get a fine? Oh, he wasn't looking at him so it wasn't intentional. Right. What a joke.
  5. If being a recognised expert in the area and having personal access to information is now the baseline standard for a comment on DLand things are going to be VERY quiet around here ? I appreciate what you and @Nasher have said. I guess I was trying to defend the sentiment of the people who I think are probably just acting out of concern for a young guy. Ill stay out of it, but I think we can all agree that we hope Gus is healthy!
  6. Too early for that I reckon. They both play considerably different roles in the senior team than at Casey, so it's tough to change roles each week. I wouldn't be surprised if Harmes really comes on. He's a burst player, and if he gains some confidence he could really cement himself as a marking high pressure small half forward.
  7. I appreciate what your saying in terms of not over reacting to the news of another head knock, but it's not really a knee jerk reaction to suggest a young guy suffering a potential 4th concussion in less than 12 months might want to think about his long term future. It is a pretty extraordinary situation.
  8. Hahahahahhahahahhahahahahaa! Richmond
  9. Richmond falling into a nice hole.
  10. It's time now. He has a life to live after all this.
  11. That was a fantastic win. The handballing forward through the stoppages that was killing us last week against Hawthorn was unbelievable last night. It's a very clever game plan because unless teams bring insane levels of pressure at the contest with 1-2 short sharp handballs the oppositions entire zone is out of position. It's super frustrating when it's not quite right because it feels like we are doing so much contested work with little reward (see rounds 2-7) but when it's clean it's awe inspiring to watch. As a total aside I think Adelaide have some real leadership questions to ask now. They are an experienced team and they threw nothing at us. Walker is too far off the ball to help, and it can't all be up to Sloan.
  12. Most will have absolutely nothing negative to say about tonight - and then DLand kept crashing after the win and delivered us something to complain about! The perfect evening.
  13. How many f*#king theme games do Essendon need in a season? Anzac, Dreamtime, and now this stupid non event that's supposed to be City vs Country? What a joke. You are just allowed to play games for the sake of it, not every week needs to be a marketing spectacle. Although I'd be on board for a Pharma sponsored game between them and Cronulla.
  14. The negativity around here has started early!
  15. We have nothing to lose tonight. I think a lot of so called 'experts' have ignored just how much hasn't gone our way this year. Injuries, suspensions, off field tragedy. I hope the trip really galvanises the group and they just come out and have a red hot go. That's all I want. Desperation and a want for the hard stuff. Go Dees!
  16. Eagles are so unconvincing. Such a waste of space at the top end of the ladder. They remind me a little of Geelong in that they have a handful of exceptional players and then a lot of guys who go missing when things gets really hard, or who look outstanding when they are 12 goals up.
  17. Not sure if anyone else has noticed but this year just doesn't seem to be going to plan.
  18. Sadly right after he showed us how good he was he had 2 solid years of being painfully slow and ineffective. He was clearly injured and trying to play through, but in the end it damaged his body, and his reputation. I feel for the guy, but I just don't see what role he plays in the senior side.
  19. A non story about an adolescent minded 'supporter' from an irrelevant network washed down with one of my favourite former players becoming just another grubby headline chaser. Im not angry Ox. I'm just disappointed.
  20. JKH and Bugg out. Hannan on the thin ice again but stays for now. I'd say Kent and Ben Kennedy deserve a crack at it. Playing forward in the VFL is rough at times and makes it hard for clean possession. Both of these guys at least deserve a chance to show what they've got - JKH got his. ANB and Stretch both should be in the team but didn't make the most of chances or drifted out of games for too long. Give them some weeks to work into some form. Harmes and Brayshaw to hopefully push for selection this week too. Be nice to have an inform Harmes, Melksham, ANB, Stretch, Bugg and Brayshaw really putting selection pressure on our bottom 4.
  21. Actually that's my argument. It's ALL not the same thing. The only evidence we have is that we DID beat St Kilda. Much the same as us winning when we are expected to, St Kilda's weakness is being competitive away from Domain. I don't count the Hawthorn game for much because the Hawks are a very competent side who at times have lost the desire to compete. A lot of the talk yesterday was about how good Hawthorn was on Sunday - not on how bad we were. My point is its a very even competition and it infuriates me when people on here say things like 'we wouldn't beat them now'. It's always a race to see who can predict the most gloom.
  22. Someone needs to explain the psychological impact of the passed on the current for a young football team to me. I think leadership examples (from the passed 5-6 years) are one potential example as I can understand how that could impact, but otherwise I just don't buy it. If you asked Jayden Hunt or Clayton Oliver the name of 10 Melbourne players from the 90's they'd struggle. The players don't buy into anything about a culture except the one they create. Last years premiers proved that.
  23. And we And we beat them on their home ground, but apparently now that wouldn't happen? They are as brittle as us at times. We proved that.
  24. Jesus everyone falls in love with them when they have a good game AT ETIHAD. Lets just see how they go away from that ground. They often look like millionaires under the roof.
