  1. I see Selwood is going to be charged for whacking Bailey Dale in the head in the first quarter last night. At least the second time this year the bogans in the seven commentary box have been sniggering about ‘ear massages’, only to watch a player get reported.
  2. I agree. I feel like Richmond do the work. Geelong is harder to like as Selwood and Hawkins walked into an incredible side early on, and Cameron, Rohan, Dangerfield, Smith and Higgins all went chasing success. It’s their right, but for those of us emotionally wedded to the loyalty of one side it feels a bit dirty. Its why I don’t like Lynch at Richmond either.

  4. To be fair to everyone involved, especially Daisy, that’s not saying a lot ?
  5. Oh, I wasn’t saying that. I was just amazed from the throw in from defence to the transition through the ground, to a mark that’s then kicked after the siren. It was just eerily similar.
  6. The reports are very accurate. Caused an awful lot of trouble within the club last year.
  7. EXACTLY like our loss down there a couple years ago. EXACTLY.
  8. Trick question. Oliver obviously, as the other 2 blokes could only kick goals that beat us. ?
  9. I know, at one point you could tell BT was mad as she basically explained the modern game to him. Was priceless.
  10. Also, not convinced Daisy isn’t a Geelong supporter.
  11. I’m so confused. I haven’t heard Brian Taylor continually question and deride the credibility of either of these teams. Must be saving it all up for when one of them is 6 goals in front -like he does when we are.
  12. Anyone know how many AFL teams train on the ground they play home games on? I’m guessing… Geelong Brisbane Suns GWS Eagles? Swans? Who am I missing?
  13. Be fascinating to see how much ‘noise of affirmation’ 7,000 people can bring in Geelong, and the impact it has on the men in green. Also, I hate Geelong.
  14. I totally agree Pates. I think I was just highlighting that in my opinion it’s not a quirk of the AFL. I think the league likes to have the umps appear like impartial amateurs doing their best, but ideally out of the spotlight. I notice that Eleni Gouftlas has disappeared, oddly right about the same time her boyfriend proposed to her on the ground. I only highlight this to show that the AFL don’t want umpires to have any extra spotlight. Keep em in the shadows - where they belong.
  15. I mean you can certainly argue we went from playing our best footy to our worst footy over night (2-0 against top 4 sides, before a lose against a bottom 4 side), so the reverse is fairly easy to comprehend.
  16. I think I use the term ‘professional’ here to mean that they don’t dedicate the majority of their time to the craft, and that as a result of that dedication they do a good job. It’s a bit like my career working for big business. I showed up everyday, but I’m not sure many of my coworkers would describe me as ‘professional’.?
  17. Surely it’s only a matter of time until a group of young players force the AFLPA to do something about the VFL. They only get one shot at their careers, and they haven’t been given a fair shot to develop their careers. I hope they do because the AFLPA is the only organisation that can fix this. The AFL won’t because they’d have to admit they’ve stuffed it up, and gutted the competition completely, and the VFL as an organisation is trying to hold on to itself in name only because it’s just a shell of what it was.
  18. The most bizarre thing about it is that the umpires never get dropped. It’s the same blokes every week, regardless of how poor they are. That the umpires aren’t professional is no longer a ‘quirk’ of the game. It’s a deliberate decision to protect them from further scrutiny. If a player makes 3 decisions in a game that directly cost 3 goals they won’t play the next week. If the umpires do it they have nothing to fear. They aren’t called out in the media directly, and it doesn’t cost them anything. It’s beyond bizarre. PS - I thought the umpires made some howlers on the weekend but had no impact on the result.
  19. I always prefer Friday night games. I can either watch other games relaxed knowing we won, or watch other teams with spite and revenge in my heart.
  20. Surprised more wasn’t made of it at the time. He lined him up from 5 metres away and ran passed the ball.
  21. So I’m assuming you turned off against Brisbane after 5 minutes? In case you’re curious we won that game quite easily in the end. Shame you missed it. This forum is a shambles after a loss. Get a grip. We aren’t going to win every game. We played at about 50% capacity and got beaten by 2 goals.
  22. I really like what I read on here about rumours BBB was doing a mini preseason. I really hope that’s correct, and he comes into the team after the bye. If he can get some separation on the lead then we are a much better team. If nothing else defenders are going to watch him more closely than they do SW. Brown, McDonald and Jackson deserve a month working together to see if they can click.
  23. I trust the team a lot more than some of the ‘supporters’ based on the dummy spitting and wrist slashing going on on this forum simply because we lost a game.
  24. I’m so over this argument on this forum. Every difference of opinion diverts to ‘how long have you supported the club for?’, instead of debating the facts. In this case so called ‘supporters’ taking pot shots at the club even when we are doing well. When you call them on their childish reactions to ONE loss, it somehow becomes about how they’ve been a supporter for longer than you. It’s garbage. It’s not supportive to use any opportunity to try and rubbish us when we are on top of the ladder. That’s by definition not ‘support’, and if you’ve been doing it for a long period of time you need to ask yourself some hard questions about what you think you’re ‘supporting’. And I don’t care how old you are. If you’re acting like a child you’re never to old to be called out for it.
  25. Ok. ? I’ll stop trying to defend a team that’s 11-2, and let you all go back to slitting your wrists because we don’t win every week. Bye ??
