  1. Neither. Too slow. Our game is built on defensive pressure. I’d have Sparrow ahead of them both. Viney will come straight back in to, so unless we have a lot of injuries I think they are both well down the pecking order. I think we planned for a very wet night last night, and might have been surprised at how dry the game became in the 2nd quarter. VDB got the nod for the rain, and that reason alone.
  2. Yesterday’s match Vs. Collingwood was just Clarko’s job interview. He gently reminded the Collingwood board that he’s still got a few tricks up his sleeve. Now the Blues board are sweating on Teague in the fear they’ll miss out on Clarkson. He’s a smart operator.
  3. I lived in Perth for a while. It reminded me a lot of Melbourne in lockdown.🤣
  4. Honestly, that will never happen again in football history. All that happened was the Eagles got a free hit. Up until then we absolutely controlled the game. I couldn’t be prouder of our club. We’ve had a horrible 9 days and responded with 2 wins. The boys should feel so good about what they’ve achieved. We kept at it, and just grinded. That’s what good teams do.
  5. Rubbish. Name another team thats put up with the garbage we’ve had to over the last 8 days. Be proud of the work they put in.
  6. Boo all you want you polo shirt wearing flogs. We’ll take the 4 points and get the hell out of your state that still thinks it’s 1984.
  7. If this isn’t proof that the AFLPA is the most toothless bunch of back patting flogs then I don’t know what is. How can they have agreed that you allow players to go back on the field after this break in play? The risk is huge.
  8. Exactly. Political posturing masquerading as Pseudoscience.
  9. I feel very sorry for Josh Bruce. Siren goes 2 seconds earlier and he’s about to play finals and in the hunt for a Coleman. For a much maligned player he’s had a great year.
  10. Last night I said GWS had given up on the season. Today I said the bombers looked horrific. And, last week I said how glad I was that Peter Wright didn’t come to us. Im on a roll folks!
  11. Ugh. Essendon looking hopeless.
  12. Clarko adding an extra million to his contract request at Collingwood. He’s played this to perfection.
  13. This is where the AFL is very wrong to evaluate the injury. Players will watch that and think that’s ok, right until someone does it and puts a player in a wheelchair - and then all of a sudden the league will realise it is about the action, and not just the outcome.
  14. How has Morrissey gone from being a poet of the underdog to the biggest [censored] in modern music? I’m as conflicted by him as you are by Michael Jackson (and I love The Smiths). Which brings me to another point. In the 21st century we need a word that highlights we appreciate the work of an artist while acknowledging the artist is a complete piece of [censored]. Picasso, Michael Jackson, Kevin Spacey, Louis CK and on and on. The list is growing every day. It could certainly apply to footballers too.
  15. He doesn’t watch the ball once. There’s no way he can argue his focus was the ball. He’s just lucky the bloke got up.
  16. I actually don’t think the penalty is big enough, particularly financially. The AFL industry spends millions every year on indigenous programs, and a highly publicised and well regarded indigenous round. Indigenous players have brought an extraordinary amount to our game, and the AFL acknowledges this and wants to protect their place in it. Monkhurst and Long was 26 years ago. There’s no excuse for not being aware of any of this. It might be the dumbest thing a player has done on field in 15 years. If I was a sponsor at the crows I’d be pulling my money.
  17. LF, or anyone else who might know, is their somewhere to see these vax numbers broken down into age groups, states etc.? I’m always curious about the numbers. 👍
  18. [censored]. 🤣
  19. Giants have pulled the pin on 2021. Can’t blame them. Feel the same way.
  20. Well, football smarts perhaps. Life skills are clearly not his forte.
  21. These days it’s all about how you ‘self identify’. In a work setting I identify as a ‘mercurial forward’ (which is code for I don’t do the hard stuff, and just hope the ball bounces out the back for me to kick easy goals). This would explain why I’m on Demonland at 1pm on a Thursday.
  22. For anyone in Melbourne eligible and looking for Pfizer I got my first jab last week at Box Hill Hospital and they said they would continue to release appointments each morning for that day. That’s how I got my appointment. No side effects, although I do feel a sudden urge to exclusively buy Microsoft product, and I’ve never got better 5G reception on my phone ? (jokes - I’m fine).
  23. If HTB was the only issue with Jack Viney I’d accept it. He can’t kick it more than 30 metres currently, he’s never been quick but he’s lost all power to go from a standing start, and he doesn’t have enough versatility to play anywhere but as an inside mid. To be fair to the guy you would never question his intensity and effort. I just think years of trouble with his feet has finally caught up with him. I hope he can get a clear run at it, because on current form his best attributes can be covered by other players with more dynamic skills.
  24. Viney got caught HTB 5 times on the weekend. 5 times. Harmes got done twice.
  25. There’s a bloke who played for Casey on the weekend called Bailey Laurie that looks exactly like the type we need. From his draft info… ’Laurie possesses lightning speed, silky skills and an ability to read the game’ I’d be trying to grab him if we didn’t already have him. I hope we can draft in another player with his attributes but with more experience. I think we need more pace and skill in our midfield to make it more dynamic, and less predictable.
