  1. Not discussed in the same breath as Swallow? Whys that? Do you even watch football? He is 10 times the player Swallow is. To suggest otherwise is ridiculous. Adams may become the better player but so far Selwood is far superior
  2. Haha, i question anyones knowledge on AFL who suggests Swallow's output has been better than Adams' so far in their careers.
  3. He said his family were supportive of it which is a positive
  4. Scott Selwood is a gem. Would love him at the club. Whilst it may not be possible to get him over, players of his calibre would be interested in joining the club if Roos signs on. Exciting times ahead i hope
  5. Heard about Lyon a couple of weeks back, mentioned it on this thread. Wife wants out of WA. We'll wait and see
  6. I can only think of N.Jones and Col (when he can be arsed) Viney will become a jet and ive seen enough from Toumpas to see that he will become a very good player. Reminds me of Chad Wingards progression. Was "ok" in patches last season and has taken his game to a new level. Hopefully Toump will have the same path. Other than these 4 and possibly M.jones i just dont see it. Trengove has been average at best (really hoping its OP and not his ability. Taking into consideration Terlich/Grimes would rotate the the mid in patches we still need 7-8 new mids of which we would need at least 2-3 to become genuine guns. It would be wishful to think anything other than it taking another 3-4 years before we have the required standard in the midfield to compliment our strengths in fwd line/ defence. Hopefully Taylor/Viney can perform the Geelong miracle of 01 with our selections this year. Would be nice to see us making plays for Pearce Hanley and Taylor Adams in the off season especially if one of them could be taken in the PSD if they agreed to come over. Thoughts?
  7. Im almost certain this is not the case. Early talk was that it was a massive contract but remember reading it was nowhere near that. Will try to find some info on if possible
  8. I would imagine the Essendon job may also be available next season too. From what i remember he isnt even on a massive contract at Freo, only that it was a long term 4 year deal. The figure 650-700k a season seem to ring a bell. All this is obviously hypothetical. The rumour itself though re him quitting the Dockers due to personal reasons came from Freo people so you just never know!
  9. Hahaha, although i must say i had a bit more class than to ever go to Bubble Its only a rumour, we'll see
  10. Heard a rumour that Lyon will be stepping down due to his wife wanting to move back to Melb and Roos to takeover Freo. "IF" it is true, Lyon might be available.
  11. He came in with a Hitler mentality and whilst a few have responded and progressed many already good players have gone backwards. Once you've lost them its hard to get them back. Even some who have progressed are playing with no confidence. The quicker he is gone the better, im predicting after round 14. The apologists need to understand that we are on a road to annihilation with this bloke
  12. The way i see it here are the players that i think are capable of being part of a competetive team going forward... Frawley Garland McDonald Terlich Trengove (im sure he is being hampered by OP) N Jones Grimes M Jones Gawn Howe Dawes Clark Hogan Viney Hopefuls: Toumpas (hasnt done much but ithink he will develop under the right regime) Blease (the potential is there but needs to take his fitness base to a new level and needs to become defensively accountable) Watts ( the talent is there, hopefully the new coach gets the best out of him, i still see Goddard in him) The rest of the list aint up to scratch, you have guys like Magner, Mckenzie, Bail etc who may try hard but are not to the standard required for a successful team down the track. It's going to take at least another 2-3 seasons to address this and it will de dependant on bringing in at least 4-5 genuine future A grade players
  13. We can always target a restricted free agent (aged 25) or someone like a Taylor Adams with a very big contract for his age (400-450k)in the psd. Not as if we owe gws any favours. We need to start becoming ruthless with our dealings. We've been too soft as a whole in recent years. Things need to change. I hate Carlton supporters the most but at least their supporters expect success regardless of circumstancesI get so [censored] off with the reaction of some of our fans, the apologists etc. a change in mindset is required or we run the major risk of having an even smaller supporter base 20 years from now which can only result in a gradual decline/extinction. Enough is enough. Would it be far to say that we probably had the highest amount of supporters back in our heyday? (Top 3 at the least) We now languish at the bottom with the kangaroos at around 23000-25000 supporters. That won't improve until change and new culture is implemented. You have men calling Sen saying their kids want to change teams.doesnt bode well... ( apologies for the leftfield rant, I love the club and am depressed with our current fortunes)
  14. I still think Roos is in the frame (optimistic perhaps?)
  15. Blind Freddy can see that we are in desperate need of quality midfielders. However.... Does anyone else think that should we be given a priority pick after our first selection we should try to draft Tom Boyd if GWS pass on him? With Jamar looking a shadow of his former self i wouldnt mind Mitch being moved into the permanent ruck role ( provided he can get back on the park on a permanent basis) with Gawn being back up/playing the roaming tall role around the ground. The flexibility this would provide us with could see us having a potential elite spine down the track. The only fallback i could see is too many talls (Hogan, Boyd, Dawes) playing in the forward line but with the amount of injuries to so far to Clark and Dawes it would be a problem i'd be happy to deal with and work around
  16. Some of you seem to be smoking some good stuff. Theyll want our first pick and we might be able to get something in return like their 2nd or 3rd round pick. I'd be up for if. Rate him highly. Other clubs will surely circle too though
  17. Oh really? Then where were all our fans on Sunday?
  18. You are part of the problem....Ox speaks for the majority. Where do you think our 15-18000k supporters dissapeared to on Sunday?
