  1. Its becoming obvious that if we are to continue improving over the next 1-2 seasons that we'll need a very good kpd addition to support T-Mac. As much as i love Hurley, i doubt he will leave Essendon. Even if he does he will command at least 800-850k a year (which id imagine would price us out unless Hogan asks for a trade at the end of the season) Does anyone know the contract status's of any other good kpd's?
  2. considering how good the young crop from last years draft have been id be ecstatic if he ended up being in the top 5 of the group Very exciting to hear the Lynch comparisons. If he ends up developing into a 50 goal a season forward im sure we will all be over the moon
  3. Having never seen the Weed myself, who does he best compare to in the way he plays? Gunston? (Would be over the moon if he got to that sort of level)
  4. Hopefully the dogs repeat last nights performance against us in a couple of weeks. We'd definetely be in with a chance
  5. will be dissapointed with with a sub 30k crowd. Anything over 32-33k will be a good result
  6. Some of you seriously underate Pederson. Dawes could not have done half the things that Pedo has so far this year
  7. one thing ive always wondered is why we dont offer away game reserved seating packages for Redleg, Trident or Legends members to games at the g or etihad like some other clubs do? id happily pay another $100-150 a season for it and it would be great to have a dedicated section of bays with all Dees supporters. considering we have our substitute home games due to the NT deal and our home game at etihad without a dedicated seat i thought this would have been a given and would boost membership revenue by around 500,000 with a 3000-4000 uptake
  8. Had to bump this. Just goes to show that we need to be pragmatic and understand that we will still go through some dark periods but that we are definetely on the right track.
  9. Nope, this year. Signed a 4 year deal during Neeld's reign of terror
  10. Without delving into it too much I was of the thinking he was GAWN until tonight
  11. Knightmare has him as 1 of only 4 players he considers as top 5 on list quality. Good enough for me. He has a better eye for talent than any of those journos who "follow" the tac cup/championships imo.
  12. I reckon thats about right. We have a pretty good trading relationship with them
  13. Langdon? You for real? The kid is a jet, as if they wouldnt even contemplate such a trade
  14. I'm still positive that Toumpas will come good for us. His breakout year might even end up being in 2016 rather than next year. Give him time. He has the skill, he will start finding the ball and his confidence will grow. Are the Toumpas critics also criticizing Salem who barely got a touch in the 2nd half of the year?
  15. I seem to recall a club census which was done years ago which suggested we were one of the least supported clubs. Possibly somewhere around 230-240000. From memory the Kangaroos weren't far behind or maybe slightly less. I would imagine this has dropped since then. Its amazing the amount of people I've met who support us but have COMPLETELY lost interest to the point where they don't watch us or any footy at all. I guess it stresses the importance of us entering a sustained period of "success" within the next 3-4 years to ensure we don't lose the next generation of supporters. If we dont, we run the risk of losing our club in the medium to long term.
  16. The stakes are ridiculously high with who we pick from this draft. We desperately need both players to become genuine A graders. We're running out of time and failing in this draft will set us back even further.
  17. Happy with who we brought in but i still think we will struggle considering we havent improved the midfield. Bottom 2 - 5-6 wins
  18. Haha, and you slated me for telling you to do exactly that. Its guys like you who drive away people who get the occasional inside word from forums. Surely you can grasp that things change and deals which looked on can fall through. I have no doubt that the Trengove injury screwed us from getting JK. IMO 3 and 12 would have sufficed and once that fell through we werent willing to offer both 2 and 3. If Sydney didnt have Heeney to commit their first pick then it might have also changed the outcome. The murmurings that Sydney's cap is maxed out seems legit, they couldnt upgrade Biggs to their main list and were forced into trading him last minute. It definetely ties in with why JK seeked like a genuine target. One of their stars will no doubt be availablr next year for the right offer. Buddy only got 400k this season and his salary is set to skyrocket in 2015 and the year after
