  1. Why did we pick up Rodan when Steven Salopek is available for free? He is 2 years younger, has half decent stats and now lives in Victoria...
  2. Koby Stevens might be a good pickup...his stats for WCE read: round 16 vs Swans got 6 possessions as a sub round 15 vs North got 4 possessions as a sub round 8 vs Saints got 5 possessions as a sub round 3 vs Giants got 19 possessions in starting 20 However, it is rare for him to get less than 20 possessions a game for East Fremantle...
  3. Don't blame the players...human nature being what it is, if the coaches let the players get away with it, they will...In my opinion, the coaches would be equally at fault...
  4. I see Michael Evans has been taken off all the injury lists on the MFC site. I guess whoever typed the list originally just got used to putting him on it...
  5. Dropping out of form players is always the answer, unless the player is a superstar. Even Jack Watts was dropped to Casey, and Moloney hasn't been playing well for a long time...
  6. Can't work out why Moloney hasn't been dropped. I watched the replay of last weeks game again, just to see what he was doing. He honestly runs around like a chicken with it's head cut off. He was always following, never initiating, 3rd or 4th man in when jumping on tackled players. He simply cannot catch anyone he is so slow. He does, however, pat his team mates on the head when they do something right. I think someone on here said he was a dumb footballer - cannot disagree.
  7. Whatever we do with our picks, we shouldn't touch Menzel with a ten foot barge pole - he's already had a knee reco, and his older brother has had 2 of them! When it's a genetic predisposition (refer to the Ox's family history), then leave well enough alone. I'm sick of Melboiurne's draft picks ending up injured for most of their early career. And while we're at it, we should also make sure none of them are prone to back injuries - we've had an epidemic of those at the club...
  8. From an outsider's point of view, it appears the senior players got away with murder under Bailey. Neeld has come along and told them some home truths and they don't like it. They are sulking big time...I'm talking about Moloney, Green, Davey and perhaps Jamar. They show no leadership and are truly unhelpful to their teamates. This has a snowball effect on the younger players. Hence the result we'll see today. What I'm trying to say is that the coach is not to blame...it's been coming for quite a while. I think the coaching department, in particular Neeld and Craig, will weed these guys out after giving them enough rope...anyway, just my opinion guys....(forgot to mention Sylvia as well)
  9. And we musn't forget this is a Sydney side without Goodes and Mumford!!
  10. It looks like if you stop our only good midfielder (Jones) the whole side goes to pieces....
  11. Let's not limit ourselves to Dangerfield - both Harley Bennell and Josh Caddy haven't signed, and Harley is an absolute gun!!! We may have an advantage with his brother playing for us...
  12. According to the ABC (Kelly Underwood), the hit on Viney by Wojo was "very late" - the ball had left the vicinity... Geelong BigFooty forum fear the worst at the tribunal...
  13. We just played the supposedly worst team in the AFL and couldn't win a SINGLE quarter - something is seriously wrong here...
  14. Community Engagement Officer - interesting title for a job which can, as it turns out, be used to vilify someone without checking the facts. Previously, this guy Mifsud has tabled a couple of reports to the AFL regarding comments made about indigenous players (17th June, 2010 re: Mal Brown and the unfortunate Matt Rendell). Both times the AFL took it further and acted reasonably appropriately after no doubt checking the facts. But from what I understand in Mark Neelds case, Mifsud didn't get what he wanted, so he "leaked" the rumours to his mate in the media. GT being what he is, published immediately. Perhaps Mifsud should heed his own words (this from his own presser on 17th June, 2010): "The most basic and fundamental human right is a person’s identity and any remarks, comments or language that diminishes that sense of identity is indefensible."
  15. I noticed that Jodan Gysberts suffered an ankle injury playing for Casey, so he may not be available for next week (also explains why he was not amongst the best players for Casey)...
  16. Bit surprised regarding the after match interviews with Neeld, Brown, Moloney and Jones...every single one of them thought we matched or even outscored Port after quarter time. Either their maths isn't up to scratch or they were watching a different game: Melbourne after quater time: 7 goals 9 behinds. Port: 11 goals 7 behinds. We were outscored in every single quarter! Cannot take these guys seriously if they can't face facts...
  17. In every NAB Cup game we've been slaughtered in the possession count - Brisbane by over 50, Collingwood by over 50, Hawthorn by as many as you like and the same tonight!! Even Gold Coast beat us.... Our guys simply can't get the ball - not willing to put themselves at risk.... Our VFL side would show more...
  18. Mark Neeld "sold me" when he fixed his steely blue eyes on a reporter at the weekend and said (in response to some inane question): "You reckon Liam Jurrah's going to help with the missed tackle count?"
  19. James Sellars stats vs Collingwood: 13 disposals, 3 tackles, 100% efficiency! (the only player on the night to register 100%)
  20. I think everyone is panicking for no real reason yet...it took John Northey 3/4 of a season before the penny finally dropped for the Demons in 1987. Our win/loss record after 16 games in that year was was 6/10!
  21. Jetta/Strauss half fit would be better than Joel Macdonald, who would have to have played the worst game of defensive football I've EVER seen last weekend...
  22. By the way, did anyone else do a double-take when Jade Rawlings suggested JoelMac was our best player last weekend?
  23. Absolutely agree - just look what happened when Northey took over in 1987...
