  1. 220 possessions to 109 25 inside 50's to 12 Salem, Jones and Garland our three best players...
  2. Oh my goodness...Ross Lyon is no-one's fool... http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-02-24/cols-no-walters-lyon
  3. Whatever Sam Frost did to recover from his hammy is worth GOLD!!!
  4. What astonishes me is the hypocrisy of the players here...the players at the club in 2011/12 who did not take drugs (precious few it seems) are not playing because they want to protect the identity of their team mates. A bit extreme I would have thought. So what will happen if their drug taking team mates are found guilty and suspended? Will they not compete during the season proper? I hardly think so...
  5. It seems Mitch is getting rid of that spare tire pretty rapidly.... http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/mitch-clark-training-the-house-down-after-trade-says-geelong-teammate-mitch-duncan/story-fni5f6yf-1227150325548
  6. Yes, Norwood won the flag this year, with Baulderstone and Panos their best....
  7. From the Adelaide Advertiser, November 18th: "Several clubs have spoken to his management group and he has had a meeting with Melbourne, his keenest suitor."
  8. Apparently, the demons have spoken to Sam Baulderstone more than any other club, so don't be surprised if we rookie him next week. A 200 cm 110 kg 24 year old with a bit of form..
  9. Parents of Essendon players involved in doping saga briefed on on-going fight This article details a meeting between the parents of the 34 Essendon players and what appears to be a combination of the AFLPA, Essendon Board members and Legal reps. The meeting essentially told the parents that "their sons had become pawns in a political game." Now I don't know what that really means - a red herring perhaps - anything to appease the parents I suppose. After all, no one likes a politician. Goes on to mention evidence still not forthcoming from ASADA and whether hearing should be open to the public. All designed to obfuscate. If I was one of those parents, there are a few specific questions I would want answers to, specifically (and no doubt been mentioned on this thread previously): 1. why were no records kept? 2. what was the idea behind the waiver forms - Dank was not a Doctor, and the players were not "patients"? 3. why is Hird still here? 4. why is Thompson still here? 5. why is Reid still here? 6. why did Hird receive so much ransom money? 7. where on earth is all this money coming from? And I would immediately get my son out of that toxic environment. All this talk about political games, production of evidence and open to the media is just fueling Hird's agenda....
  10. Considering Justin Plapp coached the Sandringham Dragons, Tyler Roos also plays for them alongside Angus Brayshaw, then I'd say join the dotted line...
  11. What's up with Jack Grimes - he looks awfully thin and scrawny, more than usual...
  12. Are Geelong kidding themselves: quote- "GEELONG hopes axed Demon Sam Blease will help cover the loss of quick midfielders Travis Varcoe and Allen Christensen."
  13. And imagine our position if we'd traded picks 2 and 3 for Dangerfield et al...NO picks in the ND - something I'm sure Roos would be happy with.
  14. A lot of Melbourne supporters have been asking the question: "If we don't qualify for a priority pick, no club ever will." Well....I have a sneaking suspicion the AFL think a certain pharmacological experimental workplace might be in desperate need of a priority pick or two in the near future....
  15. When I read these words from Bernie Vince's interview, I just knew we were in BIG trouble: "MIDFIELDER Bernie Vince says there is no chance the Giants will win their third consecutive match against the Demons this round. An adamant Vince said his side was simply “not going to let it happen” and it would not drop its second match of the season to GWS."
  16. Going by the player review, I'd be very surprised if Terlich gets another game - but I can't wait for James Harmes to be elevated off the rookie list (it will happen)!
  17. Apparently you can do whatever you like against a Melbourne player and not get suspended, but God forbid a Melbourne player do something that has a whiff of controversy - just check out the Jack Viney and Jack Trengove results - still can't believe Trenners copped 3 weeks for something no one else has ever been cited for!!
  18. Roos is starting to get very frustrated with this lot - using words such as "deplorable skills" "horrible skills" "extraordinary mistakes" and never having witnessed such a thing before... I have a feeling we'll be delisting quite a few at years end...
  19. Judging from the VFL player review, I wouldn't be surprised if Gawn and Strauss make the seniors next time...
  20. Barret is trying to compare apples to oranges here: the last 3 incidents have all been questioned because a player had his head over the ball and was hit by another player. In Viney's case, Lynch's head was not over the ball - Lynch actually fell forward because of Georgiou pressuring him. Lynch was never in danger of suffering a neck injury as there was no front on collision with the player bent over the ball. The last 3 weeks have provided instances where the player could have suffered a serious neck injury. It's pretty simple really, and makes me think Barret is being deliberately provocative. (and calling himself "this column" just shows what a presumptuous moron he is)
  21. I don't usually speak in superlatives when describing a football players interview/media performance: but the way Chris spoke and his intelligent responses to questions is as good as I have ever seen from ANY sportsman. We've got an A grade commodity here - even if he never played another game, you can just tell he would be a great coach. But that's just wishful thinking - he will probably end up being another Galbally if he continues his law studies...
