I think it's a good pick this year, the midfield talent is pretty good through to the early teens. I like Crouch for his inside work and uncompromising attack on the ball but wouldn't be disappointed with some of the others mentioned. Be interesting to see who we pick up now.
-
Crouch at pick 9 would be a good get.
-
I know what he means but 193cm is hardly tall these days and you would expect him to be a good kick. This should not be the exception.
-
Mark Robinson clearly has little understanding

I would say the whole trade period has lost momentum at the moment but things should pick up next week. Poor old Robbo has nothing to write about. -
Frawley is worth much more than this. Pick one and Shiel I might consider but really Frawley is going nowhere.
-
Very odd comment, at 193cm he is almost at midfield height these days and he better be an excellent kick if he wants a long term future in the game.
-
That's what the club has said all along. Hardly being walked on I would have thought.
-
Broadbent has been setting up play off half back for them, no midfield time last season, good kick and good footballer. Not sure about pick 2 though.
-
LRT had commitment and worked hard for his team, a whole different kind of player.
-
Frawley is worth a hell of a lot more than this.
-
I agree in part with what you are saying but these are not the guys. They couldn't provide that impact with GWS and are in effect wet behind the ears as they are not 50+ game players yet...and a long way off it.
-
Beat me too it 'P-man'...agree.
-
Yeah, it's not going to happen 'Ben', this is an ambit trade from GWS.
-
If you think Brendan Goddard could play as a key back then that's what they are after at 2. Scharenberg is a utility like Goddard who can play in multiple positions but at a touch over 190cm he is not a KPB. GWS are looking to add more class to there list, GC have them covered with O'meara, Bennell and Martin coming on board and of course they have the master in Ablett, they know now that Scully was not what they thought. Whether it's Aish, Kelly or Scharenberg they want to add class to their list. Shouldn't we want to do the same?

It's not hate from me but I don't like him as a player. He wants the game played on his terms and doesn't work hard enough if it's not. When it's played on his terms he looks good but he won't go out of his way and lets his teammates down when he needs to put in the extra effort. I'm not surprised he had the North players off side, he is a lazy, selfish player and I'm not sure this can be changed.
-
Melbourne weren't interested in him for whatever reason, it's hardly like he turned us down or we missed out.
-
Not since Flower... lets start this argument again.
-
Buntine & Bugg go against what the club is looking for, I doubt that would be a deal.
-
Yep, he's all but destroyed the EFC. That's what lack of experience and a big ego does for you.
-
He's been the Tiges 2nd choice small forward behind another NQR in King. Forget about it, I would much rather develop guys like Taggert and Kent as a goal kicking mids.
-
Agree on Rodan. Taylor will be marked down in the draft because of his height but once drafted there's nothing to hold him back.
-
No, not unless he can be a gun mid.
-
I don't see what the big deal is. Simpson got the gig at WC, Burns was told we weren't interested, Ling is in the media and doing a day a week with North, this season he did a bit of spare time action with us and Dew decided to stay in Sydney. So Dew is probably the only one that got cold feet, it's no big deal. You don't always get things falling your way, I think if Worsfold hadn't pulled the pin at WC then Simpson would be with us now but that's the way it goes. It's hardly him turning his back, he gets to coach 3 years earlier, thinks he is up to it and took the gig. As for Adams, he has a relationship with Buckley and wants to get to Collingwood. At least he didn't waste our time with a Judd like sham. Geelong must be beside themselves because Heath Shaw turned them down and last year they couldn't even get a local boy, Boak to join them. Must be on the nose at Geelong.
-
Nah, has the endurance running of Scully but is a much better footballer.

Because someone, in this case Freeman is compared to another player means nothing. They do this with all potential draftees at this time of the year...plays like Dangerfield. Don't get sucked into this one, the other one not to get sucked into are the combine results. They don't count much at the top end, maybe a little bit of icing but they are more relevant for kids down the order. The top kids have been followed for years, there is little not known about them. Only a mug recruiter like BP would put a lot of stake in combine results.
