Wouldn't be quick enough to go with him would be my opinion. Who is??? that's the big question.
-
I think they have a pretty good idea themselves, that's why we brought in an experienced group. They don't need Port as a case study, they know what has to be done.
-
He was known as a bit of a sook at Hawthorn when they did boxing training.
-
I think you are right, they are just so obvious that you cringe but it clouds a lot of his good work. If he gets dropped it won't be because of clangers it would be more likely defensive positioning. Roos didn't look happy about him letting McGlinn out for an easy... As for his overall kicking, he is trusted with some of the kick in duties so the FD must rate him.
-
No I think the coaches would have been delighted with both reactions. JKH burnt Dawesy when he kicked his, it went against the team ethos that is being drilled into the players. He knew it and the other players knew it. As a side note to that I reckon Dawes burnt JKH at one stage on Saturday night and he didn't end it with a goal either.

Heard that, made me laugh. He really is a bit of a dumb eddie...brings absolutely no insight into the game

Thanks.

That's the real disappointment with Watts, we really need his kicking. How did Strauss go today? he does have a good boot on him.
-
Might also be something to do with him being concussed the week before, most players aren't as sharp the following week. Seems to have been ok at Casey but a bit quiet today.
-
Now where are those that said he was another skinny outside kid? Salem was known for his kicking and his hardness, that's what he brings. Now lets just let him develop, as Robert Shaw (his very proud school coach) said on SEN today...it only gets harder from here.
-
I think I've said this somewhere else but he has filled a big void in our leadership. A really good get, sometimes we can get lucky.
-
...and they reckon he hasn't been shown that footage. I'm sure the FD are all across it. Me too.
-
I'm not sure if it's punishment but they sure have to learn, and if they can't then they go the way of others such as Moloney and Silvia (yes I know he went under free agency but I don't think that Roos was that disappointed to lose him).
-
It hasn't hurt Pendles. Honestly basketball is not the problem here, with most players it is seen as a bonus.
-
We had one in Clark, couldn't be in 2 places and now he's in none. A big, big loss... ...but we really need to get a developed ruck who's not getting a consistent game. Think Mummy at the Cat's, Jacobs at Carlton...

Goodes - love watching him
-
It's a pity really because you can't doubt his endeavour. You can also see why he was such a good player at SANFL level. He just seems to have these brain fades.
-
Very!

I think I've said this before but I reckon Roos knows Frawley is gone so he's building a back line without him. Just a hunch no inside info.
-
You're way off the mark with Trengove. The suspension he got from the Dangerfield incident had a big impact on him, he was hung out to dry by the AFL and the club should have really put up a fight for him. He was badly let down. He will put his head down and get involved, injury has held him back and I hope he can get back on the park fit and well, he will be a bonus next year if he can.
-
Enough of this JW stuff, he is not playing good footy and maybe he can't. His mate at WC was laughable today also if that gives anyone some satisfaction. These JW threads are getting like the Col Silvia ones. Col was never good enough, maybe (a strong possibility) Jack isn't either. Time will tell but all this hand wringing goes nowhere.

Agree with this. I thought we were ok tonight. We have a core of players now that we can build on but of course their are a few (too many) that will go at years end. Love Tyson's strength at the contest and quick hands, can really see the Black comparisons, Viney is see ball get ball, Salem is class and tough at it. We have something to look forward too. As the coach said we can't afford to release the pressure during a game, the players that make it through Roos time at the club will set us up for success don't worry about that.
-
He's the leader we've needed since Junior, a great get.
-
Nup, if we played an any other game with this list we would be sunk big time. Roos is on the money, it's the best move we've made in 50 years to have him at the club (Northey close)...
-
Agree with some of what you say but Tommy Mc did his job tonight. Viney, Tyson, Salem and Hogan when he is fit are going to take this club forward. By the way, how lucky are we to have Cross. What he is teaching the young guys at the club is invaluable. Last year we picked up Roden, Gillies and Byrnes. This year Cross and Vince. This can't be underestimated.
