Yep, it's speculation and rumour and more likely to happen than against North.
-
I think he will play in Perth if he gets through this week. They will set him up to play away from the hype in Melbourne, good move.
-
No, but it hasn't hurt Aish or Dunstan. It's part of an overall picture.
-
I'd be happy to pick him up there too 'Machsy'. I think he has a better kick on him than Riley, sprayed a couple but also nailed some beauties. I also like the way he sets up at stoppages and isn't afraid to spread and get involved on the outside.

How good was that; the emotion was still there for me watching that after all this time and seeing Sean attacking the ball, big Jimmy in the ruck only added to it. Apart from Robbie, who was an absolute champion Brett Lovett was always a favourite player of mine. With some luck we could have Viney, Stretch & Lovett running around with us again in the next few years.

I like this kid, will be a good get as a 2nd or 3rd round pick at the moment. Good size, strong inside, quick hands.

I think they will too 'Redleg'. -
Going a bit early on Broomhead, looks like he will be a player. Minson was AA wasn't he?

Agree with you on this, it's way overs for Malceski at his age. -

Keep using your code mate, I might have to ask what it means from time to time though. Hope you don't mind. -
If you want some one with mongrel then McCartin is the man. I would take McCartin if he was available to us.
-
That's going to happen when you trade away picks.

I don't think this is right and it just repeating what the commentators were saying. He was with him all the way, so it wasn't fitness but his ability to compete and show more urgency in the contest with Hill at this stage of his career that was his problem. When Hill ran him into the forward line and took the mark and kicked a goal, Barry was on the mark and didn't look distressed, or doubled over puffing, in fact he couldn't blow out a candle. The commentators said he couldn't go with Hill but he was with him all the way, just a step behind and that was the problem.

No There is no way it would be a done deal but if they said yes it would be a massive win for us. As for low ceilings, these are 2 young players with a huge upside. -

That's interesting, Reid would be a good replacement for Clark. Yet to take it to the next level but a lot of promise, a good ruck/froward option who is pretty good at contested clearances. Watch how the Swans often use him to come off the line from HF, at centre bounces...he's very good at this. -

If he's thinking this way then I hope he resigns today and moves on. -

Probably the worst kick in the AFL. -

This is a really bad idea and will improve us to a mediocre club at best. We've been through a lot of pain and I get that supporters want some success but as someone who has been through the bad times and the bad times we have to now look at building a solid future where we can have real success that can be sustained. A short term hit is not good enough. What we can't do is think the last 7 years is a marker for the future. We have the right people in control now and any players we bring into the club will be chosen and developed properly. We need to build a list and this means drafting and trading, not just trading. Particularly high picks. -
Have to agree 'Jack', if we stick with the alignment we will have to put some money in to improve the list. Either that or we go our own way. No matter what way we go it is going to cost. The current situation can't be good for player development.

I don't think the fine or counselling approach will work, something similar is in place for acting for frees and has yet to be used, it's not taken seriously. A player who ends up paralysed is much more serious than B grade acting and this must be dealt with before it happens. Again, I'm not talking about slipping down in a tackle or to avoid a tackle, I'm talking about a player who uses his head to run into an opponent. I would err on the side of caution here, we don't want what happened in the NRL this year and must put a stop to this lunacy. If it means they get the occasional one wrong so be it.

I think it is now called play on instead of a high tackle, they must pay a free against minimum if they are serious about this. Lynch is a very, very lucky man today and this can't be allowed to go on.
-
This is a whole lot different to slipping down or going low to draw a head high free kick. What Lynch did today was absolutely stupid, it's a bit like what that Carlton guy did in the 2's last year. It will end up in someone being permanently disabled, lucky for Lynch it was a jarred neck. He went down to pick up the ball, all good there as I don't know any other way of picking the ball off the ground without bending down. As he started to come up he noticed a Brisbane player coming directly at him then put his head down a rammed into the on coming player. Lynch was given a free kick for a high tackle and it was the wrong decision. This is what the AFL have been trying to sort out, it's where the player puts himself in danger to draw a free. At present it is play on. I believe they need to go one or two steps further, 1st is that if a player does this it should be a free against and 2nd maybe he should be rubbed out for a week for stupidity. Dropping your knees I a tackle is a whole different thing.

Me too 'Clint'.

Good game Brisbane v Adelaide but has been marred by the injury to Tom Lynch who ducked his head into an oncoming tackle. I really cringe when I see this happening and I believe the umpire got it wrong by awarding the free kick to Lynch who unfortunately couldn't take it. The AFL must stamp this out of the game, players are still putting themselves in dangerous positions. The other thing is they are not learning to protect themselves in these positions, they seem more interested in getting the free kick.

I don't know what's fair about it, yes it might appease opposition clubs but if you wanted to take a totally impartial view at the situation then we would have to get at least one start of first round pick, maybe 2. Not saying it will happen but to be fair it should.
