  1. Pity...we used to be able to keep ourselves entertained quite easily.
  2. I agree with much of this 'iva'... I would add that to call Watson and Lyon personalities would be an affront to the English language, worse than Maher in my opinion. However, the station has been on the skids for a while now and Hutchy has to try something. Seems a bit scattergun at the moment but my guess is that Bartlett is on the way out, Hutch was contractually stuck with his morning crew and he will push for a younger demographic hence the US sport and younger evening hosts. Whately is the one he is pinning a lot on and he will rise of fall on the level of his guests...they will need some real personality here to balance with Gerrard and I don't think Quatermain is the man for Monday mornings. He needs a loose canon, now if he could get Bomber then that would make things interesting.
  3. So far, so bland...
  4. At the risk of getting my post deleted.... I think we will win it this year 'fence' but if we don't I still think I will be closer to the mark than you.
  5. I think we are past going for the big fish... We have our own homegrown to look after now. Clubs will be knocking on Oliver's door, Petracca and others, lets keep this list together as long as it takes to get the elusive flag. To me a player like Sloane would end up around our 3rd or 4th mid behind Oliver & Patracca and on par with Viney but we would be paying him number 1 mid money. Not a wise spend... Look at needs and spend wisely...Hibberd is an example. Although not a free agent he fitted a real need to have quality run and disposal from defence. Gaff maybe the one to look at but that depends on money and how some of our younger players come on.
  6. The footy show should be dead and buried by then 'Redleg'... Be lucky to make through this season.
  7. Couldn't have said it better myself 'Dee'. ...and as for the maturity line trotted out by some, what a load of rubbish. It would seem more mature to me to finish your contract. Funnily enough for all the talk of the NRL's approach being more mature etc Cam Smith has on numerous occasions said he doesn't like it.
  8. Simple really 'Tough'... It's a no lose position. If we miss out he can say "told you so" If we make finals, well as a true Melbourne man he would be happy to be proven wrong.
  9. So now Rodney Hogg is gone.... The last one out with any personality please turn off the lights.
  10. Have a bland response...no real personality with young Jack but he is one of Hutchies boys. I found Finey very entertaining and next to Bartlett the best thing on SEN, but each to there own. Fine's gone and I reckon Bartlett is in the waiting room & on his way out. Turf has probably saved him for the time being.
  11. Now Mark Fine has gone... I thought he was the only decent footy analyst they had and Finey's final siren was a classic. Plus Sam McLure is in for the 6 to 7 slot. It's getting very vanilla...

This one has had over 1.5 Billion YouTube views... I remember when music was for listening, for a song this makes better viewing than listening and I think you can see why it had so many views.
  13. No surprise with Hutchy as the new boss...

For a so called power club that gets prime time games & privileges , Carltons membership is very average.

2018 might just be the year to keep it 'machine'...
  16. Similar non personality to Lyon...but they're just dying to get him on air. Agree on KB, he is gold and still going strong but how much longer can he carry the station for? Einstein Frawely is being set up to take one of the available spots for certain and I notice they've got Michael Christian on in the mornings so he might be another. I just can't listen to him, like watching paint dry he's that boring.
  17. Agree totally with this, Allen is good on golf. The 2 of them together was a vacuous few hours of radio...they should have sacked the person who came up with the idea of pairing them. Agree, that was poor form and also treating the listeners with contempt.
  18. Just watch this space... They have been angling to get Hird on, it won't be drive time but they did a nice little softener with Mike Sheahan and Lyon using him as some kind of expert on something that slips my mind now. There was no context just an excuse to test the waters. That will be the end of SEN for me...
  19. ...absolutely spot on 'ProDee'. Many years ago I moved interstate and worked with a small group of people, a couple of whom were said to be big smokers and inhalers I started going out with a local girl who was surprised I didn't even smoke cigarettes let alone anything else. The word around town was that I was big time into it. It was a great life lesson...if you don't know, you don't know.
  20. Yep, and that's why he is an elite talent. We have the best young mid in the competition, the rest of the AFL will finally work it out in 2018...the opposition coaches already have, that's why they put a tag on him and give him votes in the coaches award.
  21. Let me simplify it for you... Maybe none of these players are good enough. The FD would seem to think that's the case. We don't need more list cloggers but we can develop quality for our own needs and for future trade bait. You are looking at things in a very one dimensional way and we are far from done and locked out of trading or drafting in 2018...
  22. Lever, Gawn & Oliver make the AA team. Hogan, Viney, Hibberd and Petracca make the squad. We finish top 4, don't want to mention the P word but... Kochie blasts Hinkley and the FD for Port's disastrous scattergun recruiting campaign, falls short of blaming Watts for the whole fiasco. Richmond have injury woes and miss finals. Buckley gets sack and Eddie stands down after more disastrous off field moves. The AFL muddle their way through another off field crisis after Dill assesses which way the wind is blowing...man of principle, organisation of the highest integrity.
  23. This post makes little sense... You wanted us to draft 2 unknowns to boost our midfield depth when we have a few knowns in Brayshaw and Salem who at the moment have to bide their time on flanks where as you say we have them coming out of our ears. We will be in a good position to trade in class/needs over the next few years as Jones, Vince and Lewis move on. We do that by having better players on our list not by drafting/taking chances drafting players our recruiters and list management people don't rate to fill so called needs now.
  24. Yet from memory you weren't that impressed with Bailey. Now this is only going by the highlights but Bailey to me was very smooth, looked to have good skills and vision. Baker, again by the highlights didn't really impress. For one thing his handball seems very mechanical and forced, almost like someone who is only just coming to terms with the skill. Anyway, it will be interesting to see who we take this draft. Lets hope we get a real gem here...
  25. NEAFL though 'Dee'...players rack up the numbers in that comp. I think a lot of the so called experts have decided we need some run and carry and have been blind sided by this. They have us picking on a needs basis and as our own history tells us, this is a recipe for disaster. I just want us to get the best available prospect.
