Round 7 Non MFC games
Neither team put a lot of pressure on the ball carrier so that's not surprising. GWS are insipid tonight and allowing the Cats to walk around them. Anyway, have to be up early so time for bed and read a good book before nodding off...amazing I got past the first Q of this snooze fest.

Round 7 Non MFC games
I like anyone that gets into Dill, he deserves all he gets but the Herald Sun has really been positioning itself up with the best of the British Tabloid press as of recent times (and maybe not so recent).

Round 7 Non MFC games
Nah...if they get the game going quickly there will be less congestion and less ball ups around the ground. It never hurt the likes of Mick Nolan in the old days.

Left behind again - ground upgrades
The MCG is our home ground...it's not our fault every other club wants to play there. The rot started with Richmond now everyone wants in on the act. Moving from the 'G' would be the last straw... You are right though, we are on our last chance...Casey is apparently starting to work as far as new fans go, success now and we can start to replicate what the Hawks have done. Failure and we're done.

Left behind again - ground upgrades
I certainly hope not 'Lucifer'... Our home is the MCG, if we move a training facility to docklands it wouldn't take much imagination to see our home ground moving there also. Tennis Australia have big plans for the precinct around Laver, maybe we have a part to play.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
I don't remember this being the case with Geelong... I do remember it with the West Coast in the 90's though. In Geelongs case it seems to be guilt by association...the weapon and bomber.

Changes vs Saints
They are playing completely different roles. Smith is playing as a mid/forward & Weid a forward/ruck. Of course they can play in the same team & most probably will.

Bayley Fritsch to debut.
When played deep opposition defenders would block his run ...which is what you are talking about. ..but he would pack up shop and do nothing to counter this and was done for the day. When played up the ground he was just a lazy footballer who would pick and chose when to go. He's grown up a lot at C/wood as a defender where Roos identified was his best position. He's not lazy now and works harder. Our man Fritsch works a lot harder to make position than Howe did and is a much better field kick and kick for goal. I don't think you can compare the 2 really 'Chaz', although I get where you are coming from.

Would be there perfect addition to our list...

Post Match Discussion - Round 6
Something I've noticed in the last couple of games. Not a knock, just an observation. Even though Oliver had 30+ against the Tiges he's dropped off a little. His touch is back to the level of a good player as he's been missing or double touching a lot of balls he would normally one touch. I look forward to him getting back in touch and taking a game apart again soon. Hopefully starting this weekend.

Changes vs Saints
Beating a dead horse there 'Rusty'. My opinion after he was dropped was that we wouldn't see Pedders again barring major injury. He is not an AFL level forward & his trump card as a mobile ruck had taken a turn for the worse, he'd lost his mojo. Don't agree with you on Smith either, his papers are not stamped. They've moved him to a different role and it looks to be working. I think we could see him at AFL level maybe as early as next week depending on how Trac & hogan pull up.

Casey Demons v Geelong VFL
There are a few on the list now that probably know their AFL dream is over and are just going through the motions. JKH is one of them. They could take a lesson from the 2 former skippers, Grimes and Trengove who kept racking up possessions even though they didn't get the reward at the selection table. Tim Smith is really giving it his best shot and good on him for that...I hope he gets a call up and can play that forward/mid role. He would have been a good replacement for Trac if the timing was better.

Sloane, Gaff, Lynch and/or 2MtrPeter
I see Mackay as a NQR but maybe worth a go on limited cash. I think we are up to our eye balls with Gaff...

Lever Quits Social Media
Would have been interesting to read Crow posts when he decided to leave. I'm sure there were plenty of haters & negative Nancy's.... This stuff is unfortunately not just restricted to our supporter base. It's a scourge on society.

Brendan McCartney - Moved to the bench
That's not evidence 'binman'... The story or non story (mischief) was not that he had been moved down to the bench. That's all a comm could have said and it would have been a waste of space and time. True or not the story was Macca wasn't happy with the move. What comm would you suggest they should have put out there?
-
Brendan McCartney - Moved to the bench
Sorry 'binman' but I don't see what the communication issue is here. You're jumping at shadows. Surely the club don't have to put out a comm on every movement made by anyone within the club. Clubs continually have people moving between the box and bench, sometimes even the senior coach spends more time on the bench. It's only a story if Macca is p....off and leaked it. Then it's a staff issue not a comm issue and needs to be sorted internally. Otherwise it's someone causing trouble about something that's a non issue, again not a comm issue.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 5
There isn't one variable though 'Clint', there never is. ...but those 4 players were a key component of the revamped plan. Take Rance out and I would suggest the plan falters and they don't win the flag. Hardwick finally worked to his strengths. Luck and circumstance along with playing (astute coaching) with the cards that were dealt played a big part.

Be Patient with Lever
When you look at that backline 'Andrew' it's no wonder we can't hold a team on a run... ...apart from positioning (plan) the leg speed is not there. Hibberd is the only one with any pace at all. We just can't have Lewis, Vince and Jetta in the back 6 together. One is enough, we need to find some run to feed off Lever & Omac... ...and please leave Frost back in the VFL.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
According to the CEO of the distributing company the product has been on the market for 70 years so it's been more than fully tested on humans. Just not used in this way until recently.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
After hearing the chief of the company involved it seems more like the AFL playing funny buggers here. Everything seems above board on the company end, not sure what the AFL agenda is but he is getting the don't call us routine from Dill... Who would have thought.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
Looks like another mess the AFL is involved in... I hope we aren't into this stuff yet. The company says it's approved the AFL chief doc say not. Will the AFL and clubs ever learn? https://smallcaps.com.au/afl-teams-paradigm-biopharma-pain-relieving-medication/ More in the Herald Sun that I don't have access to.

Gaming - we are out!
It just seems to me that the club has found a better way to do business going forward. I wouldn't be to worried about arguing the pros and cons of gambling revenue, as they have said it's not a core business. Invest in what you know, seems that's what we are doing. Jackson seems pretty astute to me, I can't see him giving away a revenue stream unless he has something to replace it that is at least on par and maybe better than what we have. I'm really interested to see where this all leads...

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
Lehman has done the right thing in stepping down as coach. It's a pity Hird didn't do the same and accept responsibility for what happened on his watch. This whole business would have been done and dusted long ago if he had.
