Along with the Tommy Mac selection we can say it was one of the poor selection moves. His impact was negative, Boak took him to the cleaners. ...If anyone needed to step up in the middle it was Angus but yet again he was left on the outer. We're often beaten at the selection table before we hit the ground... It was very definitely a mistake...

Got in early 'Nev'...I thought the big 'E' would have started this thread by now along with his 100's & 1,000'S of others since Thursday...

I thought he was ok for a kid...he had a go. Doesn't offer much as a mid. Big body, not much else. He was towled up by Boak, many better players have been of course. I still see him as a defender if he's going to make it.

You're right about one thing 'Mental'...we were too top heavy. The selection of Tommy Mac was a poor one. The best our forward half have connected & functioned in recent times was over the last 3 weeks, pretty much from the time Tommy left the ground with his eye issue. If anybody in our football department showed some sense they won't repeat the mistake again. Jackson with Wied gives us a functional forward half. Add AVB & Bennell then we have a chance of a winning score.

Agree, he will turn it around. He's too good not to. On a similar path, I think the whole team is being over coached at the moment. Clayton is a prime example. They often look lost...

Coaches... As you've shown we have midfielders who can hit the scoreboard. The FD have to take responsibly for the regression in performance across the board. Selection and positional moves are not helping but.. We are not developing players, they are all going backwards with the exception of Trac. and even his development was slower than it should have been.

I think it might be time to try Tomlinson as a defender. I'm not sold on OMac...

Brown has now passed him in the pecking order without even playing a game.

I would have put Harmes or more probably Brayshaw...he needs a task like that to get him moving again. It was bad Goody at the selection table this week. I thought Max was poor tonight by the way. Thought May was your best by a long way, kept Charlie to 1 goal and only 5 touches...when the ball was coming down silver service.

Wouldn't get anything for him now...he's done. Any talk of going back to defence, forget about it. Hasn't got the mobility. Totally put the balance out in the forward line and took Weids space. Weid & Jackson for now on for sure 'dazz'

He tried hard but Boak smashed him whenever they were head to head which was a fair bit of the time. He's never going to be an A grade mid so lets develop him elsewhere. We need to build a team going forward and if Sparrow is in our mid rotation we're headed nowhere.

Hannan unfortunately puts one arm out way too often for my liking. He won't straight line the ball...has the talent but won't use it. Hunt was done the night he got knocked out...he's never come back from that.

I would definitely pay Sparrow back. He's not a natural mid. Harmes is a better bet as a mid/tagger and should have gone to Boak. Tommy Mac's career is over...I hope everyone can see this now. He's been shot for the last 18 months and no amount of wishing will change that. Injury or form, it doesn't matter. I can't see him coming back from here. He was the fresh player, didn't have the short turn around...

Nup, the bar wasn't high though...up to half time he was ok. ...don't really want to open this up too much for the sniper 'daz'... My mistake for answering him in the first place. The only consistency is the sniper taking pot shots at players all over the site tonight.

Maybe he's been thrown in there in the scratch matches. Hard to know what's going on in those games... He did play some defence in his underage years, so has done it. Pretty good leg speed, strong in the body and pretty good in the air...good attributes for a small defender. Kicking not his strong suit.

3 talls generally hasn't worked for us. As some have noted our structure looked so much better with Weid and Jackson, the 2 talls. Tommy tips the balance. Maybe they're going to try him or Jackson as the other wing... If it's 3 talls though then to me it's not the right selection call.
