  1. May & Oliver would walk into any of those teams. Max would 3 & fight it out with Grundy at Pies. An in form Tommy Mac at Geelong & Pies. Lever probably GWS & Pies, maybe Cats depending on how they set up...Tiges the only one he would miss. Trac with GWS & Cats...probably Tiges, Pies have others like but he would be an option there. After season 2020 will be a walk up anywhere. Harmes would get a look in somewhere in those teams...extra mid, tagger or hb I reckon Fritsch would get a game forward with the Cats. I expect Salem to consolidate & be on par with like players at teams you've mentioned. Langdon to step up as one of the best running wingmen in season 2020. A resurgent Bennell to walk in anywhere. Jackson as rising star, Rivers not far behind...all clubs envious. There you go, we're not so bad after all. Who knows...remember we were top 4 in 2018 so I wouldn't be marking the 2020 list on who made top 4 in 2019. Too much can & will change.
  2. It's a great insight and I think the Rivers selection is just what we needed to round out this draft/trade period. He will come back to bite a few recruiting managers on the a.... in the near future. As Taylor said at the end he is an MCG player.
  3. Nah...he was a great player, like him or not. All players lower their colours at some stage, the talk about him not being good in one on one contests is just talk. Like Scarlett & Fletcher they used him to zone off, doesn't make him any less effective. Some games he virtually won for the Tiges by being an impassable wall.
  4. Surely OP isn't helped by playing on. Isn't that the point that many are making and haven't they been proved correct in their assumptions.
  5. Hardly think the Lions own the air though 'Dee'... Particularly forward of centre where they rely a lot on Cameron.
  6. The only thing I can possibly think is that there will be better opportunities with sponsorship & community funding if pokies are gone. I guess we wait & see but so far we don't appear to be beneficiaries & our altruistic move has been just that.
  7. This year was a huge drop off. With a better list it's not unreasonable to think we should be able to jump back. I've been one of the biggest critics of our list but think it is now much better balanced. Not perfect but no list is.
  8. The topic was core players in the 22 but most seem to breaking down best 22. To me our core players for 2020 are May, Gawn, Oliver & Tommy Mac. The engine room was ok in 2019 but the bookends let us down, if we get this right then the support cast will follow.
  9. I expect us to finish top 4 in season 2020. injury being the only caveat... It will be a wasted season if we don't.
  10. Will have a think about this when I get some time 'Fifty', I like the concept. Much harder than my initial thought...
  11. Maybe not if Brisbane is included... The old Fitzroy team was pretty good before they hit the skids and had to fold.
  12. If we ran a ladder from the 70's through to now I'm guessing we would be holding the thing up at the bottom.
  13. From memory he held the ball on a pretty severe angel as he lined up a drop punt...could teach Richo & T Cloke a thing or two about missing the easy set shot.
  14. I think we will see more of 2018 but with a list capable of seeing it through.
  15. ...and my main point has been that we didn't have the list. The game plan is well and good but we need the list to execute it. I think we may well have it now, we didn't in 2018 and came unstuck against good teams. 2019 with the injury problems just made it worse. If we had of changed the game plan would things have been different? I doubt it although there were some things in 2019 that should have been addressed sooner.
  16. It's just as simplistic as saying we were tired/cooked. There were a multitude of reasons for that loss and the ensuing 2019 season.
  17. Totally with you here 'dazz'...
  18. Good, the asking price for someone like Whitfield and Kelly would be too high. ...and not value for money. Whitfield has an excuse for his GF performance but Kelly was soft. It was left to the junior mid in Tarranto to fly the flag.
  19. We didn't have the list, he knew it & has expressed similar in more private surrounds as has been reported here. It's why we recruited May...but he was only part of the story. This trade/draft period we were able to fill more gaps. No club has a perfect & complete list but ours is much closer now.
  20. The first I've heard of us being absolutely cooked by the time of the Prelim has been on here post season. I think it's a bit of revisionism...on here & from the likes of McCartney if that's what he's implying. We were poor in that game from the first bounce. I might accept it as an excuse if we faded in the 2nd half but I don't think the cooked excuse holds up for our first half performance. The holes in our list were exposed. That prelim showed a lot of what was to come. Add the injury/surgery toll & you get season 2019.
  21. You missed something 'SPC'...
  22. He speaks highly of you as well 'DD'... I've found Sheeds to be a top bloke, he's been a great ambassador for the game with time for fans of all clubs & loves getting involved with some friendly banter. This he hates us stuff is always overblown on here... Seems like a conspiracy theory of the highest order...Sheedy hates us, man didn't land on the moon, vaccinations cause autism.
  23. I know you don't like the idea 'rp' but it's much more likely to be Gawn and Jackson...
  24. I thought Clayton was down a bit last season and was surprised that he tied the B&F... ...but if Taylor Walker is elite then something is wrong with the stats/analysis. Talk was of dropping him last year and he only kept his place in the team because he was the skipper. That's a very dodgy list and doesn't do Champion Data any favours. Daniel & Suckling, no Dunkley? Greenwood (no Oliver) wasn't he dropped during the season. Ryder dropped at Port... Ward missed most of the season...how did Rance miss?
