  1. Nowhere else to put this but watched a bit of the VFL game today, Williamstown v EFC. Nick Meese was amazing, absolutely controlled the game from the ruck. It was a master class in ruck craft. He's put together a great VFL cv...I guess height & shape have gone against him with AFL scouts. Would make a great ruck coach, works the angles well, has ruck craft in spades.
  2. Good see you posting on here 'Purple'...
  3. It wasn't the argument 'bin'... ...but anyway I'm over it. Tomlinson will be handy, hope we are not over paying, at least no draft picks are going out the door. A bit vanilla but a bit of an upgrade I guess. Also hope we have more in the pipeline, we definitely need a small forward and Langdon is the type we need on a wing.
  4. My opinion on Tomlinson doesn't come from one performance... It comes from junior through to senior football. He's never been a big possession winner or had a big influence on games, it's not the type of player he is. We've got him now but don't expect him to make a big difference, will be better than what we have but not sure why we chased him. I hope we have other irons in the fire...
  5. Have a look at their injury list during the season, with us they had one of the highest levels of games missed, and to key players. It's a testament to them that they are through to the Prelim & are now getting their team back on the ground. They could even win it. It shows up our excuses...and lack of depth.
  6. Played 20 games in a team riddled with injury. I would think it says nothing either way...
  7. Glad you're seeing it like me. Seriously, must have photos of someone in a compromising position to keep getting a game.
  8. He's a huge upgrade on Kent...
  9. If Hawthorn thought that way about Burgoyne where would they be?
  10. He had a great final last week. Not just goal kicking but that smother was sensational. With him Fritsch & Petracca, it would give us some real potency & x factor up forward.
  11. Not really, a couple of years ago it was their biggest problem. They have turned it around quickly (not in light years, in the space of a year), so can we...
  12. You are probably right re the AGM 'Red & Blue'...I hope they don't sidetrack the hard questions. I'm not sure about being brave and brilliant though, the club should always be open to the members. It's the least they can do after a season like this. No members, no club.
  13. Gary & Glen, do you think Hawthorn's focus is to challenge for a Premiership? We challenged this year like all clubs, just came up well short. Sounds like a let out for Bartlett and Pert. I sure hope they are going to discuss the training facility as it is very important to on field performance....
  14. Corey is a goer and handy depth. Won't be much more than that as he lacks the quick reaction time that the really good players have. Just that hair off...
  15. One thing I will say about this. Forget the timing, he doesn't need to step down now. No one is at home. Nathan won't be Captain next year...I can guarantee Steele Sidebottom's good one on that.
  16. Well actually you can...it's why top clubs buy in experienced free agents... ...but I do get your point. Our lack of good leadership/experience goes back a long way and we're still playing catch up.
  17. I think so too 'Macca', my guess is that the game plan may have been too complex for the players. A lot of young coaches over complicate things, funny that the fill in coaches let the players play and results followed. Dimma let go a bit and let the Tiges play and finally got the results. We had a bunch of headless chooks running around and no runner would have fixed that. #lettheplayersplay
  18. I think he's a bit vanilla but who knows, he might give us something. Will be better than our other options if they are looking at playing him on the wing...
  19. Roos is consistent with Tomlinson. When he was on the market early in his career we were not interested. Obviously Roos didn't/doesn't rate him. I agree with Roos, he's not what we need, yes we need outside run & he's a nice enough player but he doesn't make an impact. The best game I've seen Tomlinson play was at CHB against Dawes...hardly a ringing endorsement. I really hope we have Langdon tied up.
  20. He's a player without a real position. A failed forward made ruck who the Cats don't trust in the role. In a team crying out for assistance for Hawkins, you don't think the Cat's would use him forward if they thought he might be any good there...
  21. 177cm hardly makes him tall, would call that short by AFL standards unless he's had a sudden growth spurt.
  22. Any relation to Wayne Kerr 'Ethan'?
  23. I wouldn't guarantee it...GWS are a talanted unit if they get it together & C/wood injuries might bring them undone...
  24. Why? We've got enough players who can't find a position and can't find the ball. Why get another one?
  25. I find Jennings to be very driven but also very uninspiring. He's doing all in his power to make it as a senior coach even to the extent of taking on a PR person which I find a bit odd. I personally don't think he will make it based on what I have heard from him.
