  1. Had Gawn BOG and Dee's by 37 in the opening game day thread, I'm claiming that. Also had Melksham for 2 goals and Hibberd for 25 disposals @10:1 unfortunately can't claim that, missed by 1 disposal

    GAME DAY

Working again today, start early finish early though so better get into it. Feeling very uninspired for today. Great to see Spargo get a run, I think in today's football you have to be able to play your roll for the team so it's great to see a young bloke get a call up early. I think today we need four quarters of solid football, doesn't have to be premiership football just solid. Make the most of your opportunities when we have the momentum and wrestle it back when we don't. The result, as they say, will take care of itself. Gawn BOG, Dee's by 37.

    GAME DAY

Wagner may be able to perform a purely negating role on the dusty up foward. Although summary reckons he will play more through the midfield. I would like to see Jones play a role

    GAME DAY

So who do we think plays on dusty in the goal square. Hibberd? Jones follow him all the way? Shirley not Vince?

    GAME DAY

ANZAC Day eve. Listened to the Sunday rub on triple M and Jay Z Clark spoke about how this game is a little look at what the AFL want to do with the grand final and I couldn't agree more. This is fast starting to overshadow the Collingwood Essendon game tomorrow in my opinion. I think everything is primmed for us to come out breathing fire tonight and we need too. Hopefully the Weed gets a game and good luck to him. Weed and Lever could be book ends for the next 10 years. Speaking of which I think tonight Lever will show why we paid so much. BOG. Dee's by 2 points in a classic.
  6. Update. Got rid of pizza boxes and empty Carlsberg. Kids are bathed, fed and we all have our stories straight. Got slow cooked beef and gnocchi bake on the go and I even changed the bed (who doesn't love clean sheets) just have to vacuum the mashed playdough in the carpet. ETA is 3pm and she loves the footy nearly more than me. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder and if the Dee's can get up and the boys stay in their own bed (unlikely)... Well it's a family forum but I'm sure you can imagine
  7. Only quietly confident today but confident none the less. I find my self less and less worrying about weather Gawn or Hogan or Oliver or Jones will have massive days and more about how as a team we can can get over the line. Wife has been away all weekend so me and the boys will have to get rid of all the evidence of fun we have had, gonna be a big job. Lucky I have a few 500ml Carlsberg cans left. Hard to go past Mitchell in sizzling form for BOG but apart from him the Dee's will beat their opponents. Dee's by 32.
  8. Was just thinking this myself, perhaps this is why Gus can't get a game, he either can't or won't defend in the same manner.
  9. I think Wagner is a good representation, for me anyway, with the frustrated thoughts of a footy tragic. Of which I am definitely one. Wagner wasn't a high draft pick, he doesn't have super skills or pace or size or anything really. Seems like a very vanilla footballer (which is incredibly rich coming from a bloke who couldn't crack a senior game in the beer league ?). Yet not only does he keep getting picked, it sounds like he is one of the first picked. Football isn't just about skill anymore. It's a science, it's measured with precision. The guys can't even go to a gym session without a GPS on according to an interview with Jesse Hogan. Wagner must follow every instruction perfectly, not only game day which is the 2 hours the majority of the football public is worried about (unless these poor young men put one toe out of line) but through the week as well. We are building a dedicated disciplined culture which will hold sustained success and expect the highest level of professionalism 24/7. IMHO
  10. I don't think Goodwin is very worried about the narrative.
  11. I finished school in '06 and started at the pig farm in April '07. Have been betting a 6 pack on every North game with my boss and obviously lost them all. These are going to be the sweetest 6 beers of my life.
  12. St Kilda didn't do a very good his last week ?
  13. Supremely confident today. We play this game on our terms, they can chase us. We are are far superior side and it will show. Oliver BOG, Dee's by 10 goals.
  14. I apologize @McQueen I owe you a beer. The three of them are as bad as each other. The umpires buy into this whole Dangerously crap. Makes me sick. I hope Oliver Gawn and co gob off at the umpires forever just so we aren't known as teachers pets
  15. Struggling to get to 6 without including Hogan. Jones, Viney, Gawn, Oliver, Petracca... Hogan?
  16. Jack Viney to come back in Tom McDonald to come back in Lever couldn't play worse if he tried We could add 3 AA quality players soon
  17. It's that time of year again, the world famous Corowa Easter Saturday Billy cart races. 10am start and we've had enough by 10.30 and start the pub crawl home. I doubt I'll see any of the game tonight let alone remember, but I have this sinking feeling I wont want too...
  18. Couldn't agree more, you can't attribute it to one event at all. But that just really stuck out for me. Also I think it's easier to except Fritsch making a mistake in his first game than Lewis is his 13th year.
  19. You could argue the initial free kick was incorrect but the facts are once that whistle goes that's it. Swearing and carrying on won't change anything. It's one of the first things you are taught as a junior. It wasn't given in the back half, I don't think it matters where abouts on the ground but if you want to argue that, it's even more critical that you don't turn a 65m kick into a 15m one. I think I recall that even on the goal line he refused to shut up. And as for Ablett being a protected species, he was given holding the ball at least 3 times that I can remember. He is a champion of the game and arguably the best ever. Opposition coaches would have entire filing cabinets dedicated to Ablett, they would know what he is going to do before he decides himself and he still does as he pleases.
  20. You know what, I blame this piece of play for our loss. Gawn, Oliver, Petracca missed but that happens a dozen times a game. Using that logic you could say Menzel kicks a couple extra goal that he missed down the other end and we lose by 15 points. This "senior" player, in a "leadership role" gave away a 50m penalty and nearly certian goal over words that came out of his mouth towards an umpire. Words. I know he played a good game and white line fever/heat of the moment but because of his use of the English language he handed the opposition a goal. To me this is completely unacceptable, let alone from an on field leader. No excuse.
  21. Are we still doing post of the week/year? This has to be up with the best of them, ever. Pure gold. Bravo @dpositive
  22. He also has a knack of finding the goals. I can't get the image of someone squarng a ball from the boundary to him in the JLT. I don't know whether it was the number 4, the similar build and hair or what but it reminded me of Dan Hannebery instantly.
  23. If I hadn't of tipped "Hawn" for BOG and had to change spelling I'd have won. 2 boys under 5 have you up early.
  24. Here we go, I love “Gameday”. I think we have a competitive team that will thrash in all day. Watching the other games so far it's going to be a very tight season. If we think it will happen or someone else will do it we will get rolled. Need every player giving 100% which I think is reflected in selections. Look for leadership during flat patches to be our biggest sign of improvement. Oliver to break Mitchell's record, Gawn BOG. Go Dee's. 15 points.
