What time do the picks start dropping tonight? 7.00 or 7.30?

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Surely bombers would just take Taylor and Robey then be happy with whichever one of Farrow or Sharp is available?

AFL Draft 2025: Phantom Drafts
Random Tasks totally believable top 9 phantom draft (sans academy players) West Coast: Duursma West Coast: CDT Boring, everyone know what's happening here. Or do they?? *Suspenseful music intensifies... Richmond: Cumming Richmond: Sharp Richmond round out there midfield to complement their draft haul from last year that was more diverse. Taking two SA boys should mitigate the go home factor to a degree. For the purpose of this statement, I have redrawn the Victorian/SA border. Essendon: Nairn Essendon: Farrow After a moment of self realisation, the bombers finally worked out that they are terrible at drafting and have no idea what they're doing. This has resorted to the bombers recruiting team to spy on Jason Taylor and copy his work. Melbourne: Robey Melbourne: X. Taylor What? This is totally believable. Essendon: Adam Sweid After acquiring the next pick from the blues, the bombers team quickly realise they didn't look past Melbourne's 2 picks to see who we had ranked next. In a state of panic, they select their own academy member without a bid because that was the only name they could remember. Fin.

AFL Draft 2025: Phantom Drafts
I would assume we would pair Taylor with Nairn.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Late mail to come tomorrow sometime allegedly.

AFL Draft 2025: Pick 30 (formerly 37)
From cals phantom draft. "The bulk of Melbourne's work will again be done early, with the Demons' back-to-back first-round picks coming from the Christian Petracca trade to Gold Coast. They are likely to use a third selection, with their pick in the 30s expected to slightly come in on the second draft night. If small forward Latrelle Pickett is available he would be expected to be snapped up, but he is set to be gone by then. Other plays they have looked at include small forward Talor Byrne and goalkicker Oskar Ainsworth, while Tai Hayes is also another they have done their work on. If Adam Sweid is still on the board at their third pick they could be a potential bidder. Kalani White has been nominated as a father-son and is likely to get through to the rookie draft. The Demons haven't nominated Next Generation Academy prospect Toby Sinnema, with the Dandenong Stingray a chance to be a train-on option after the draft if not selected."

They mentioned his phantom will drop tomorrow and that he'll post a revised late mail version on Tuesday.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Twomeys last article linked him with us which is why I put him as a suggestion for our last pick. You might even note I placed a ? next to his name.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Farrow or Sharp? Edit: just realised that the slide may not even be related to Hawthorn. Could be any club in the middle of the first round. Edit 2: West Coast could be very keen to get up from 13 to 8 to take Farrow if available. 8 for 13 and future 2nd?

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
8 and 37 for 10 and 22? I could see that happening. 7: Nairn 10: Lindsay 22: Pickett?
-
AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Go for Brisbane's pick 17 instead? Edit: we're giving an excess points equivalent of pick 31, perhaps we can haggle a f3rd out of them as well.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Draft night is going to be fascinating.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I quite like this and protects our two future 1sts. All down to where the club rates the players and what they expect to be available at 15, 21.

How many people have accounts and never post?

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Perhaps the thought of us trading with Adelaide may spook essendon into taking Sharp first. We probably need to throw something back towards Adelaide and as it stand we don't have a future 2nd. 2027 2nd maybe? Probably unlikely. I've read rumours that Sharp, Farrow and Schuburt have been linked to Adelaide. Very curious to see Cals phantom tomorrow because I have no idea what's happening. Edit: legible english

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
WC: Duursma WC: CDT Rich: Robey Rich: Taylor Ess: Cumming Ess: Farrow Melb: Nairn Melb: ??? Ess: Sharp How it might play out if the latest rumours of Essendon obtaining pick 9 from the blues happens, allowing them to pre-emptively take Farrow knowing we won't take Sharp. Who do we select outside of Nairn? One of Grlj, Lindsay, Dovaston, Marsh, O Taylor, Schubert? Or maybe we've kept our interest in Sharp under wraps and take him?

Correct

2026 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Should be a good draft for small forwards next year with Prasad, Neocleous and Templeton all looking like great prospects. Jack Pickett had a great year as a bottom aged Key Forward.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I think people will get hyped if there appears to be a realistic chance he makes it to us.
-
AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Can you make a rumour about Robey getting to us instead?

AFL Draft 2025: Pick 30 (formerly 37)
+1 for Sam Allen. Huge upside if he recovers well from his ACL. Another I wouldn't be surprised to see drafted at some point is small forward Tom Matthews from gippy. Another recovering from a knee injury (pcl i think) but looked impressive as a bottom ager in the couple games I saw.

Cameron Nairn
Fair comments, but there are also plenty of examples of excellent AFL players that aren't quick, strong or tall. Shall be an interesting draft night.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
My last post on this topic. Cal Twomey has linked us with him in his latest draft rankings and Mark McGowen has us selecting him at pick 11.
