Trade Targets
Just throwing out some names for discussion that are on the periphery of their current teams best 22 or FAs. Key Defenders Wade Derkson Leek Aleer Judd Busslinger Key Forwards Mitch Lewis Harry McKay (if earlier rumours of being tradeable are true) Oscar Allen (FA) unlikely but doesn't hurt to have a crack pending medical on knee Max Gruzewski (more third tall type) Midfielders James Worpel (RFA) Mitch Knevitt Jye Clark James Leake Angus Sheldrick Darcy Parish Ben Hobbs Cooper Simpson Ed Allen Sam Marshall (may struggle to see a future in the Lions midfield with more academy players coming) Elijah Tsatis (kicking skills more than questionable) Wingers Ryan Angwin Campbell Chesser Small/medium Defenders Brandon Starcevich (RFA) Oliver Florent Jakob Ryan Seamus Mitchell (DFA) Small/medium Forwards Callum Brown Will McLachlan Jesse Dattoli (big fan, contracted but if homesick we should be in his ear) Phoenix Gothard Zane Duursma Brayden George (injury prone) Rucks Ned Moyle Will Green Toby Conway Ned Reeves

PREGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
Presumably we will get a fine for bringing him in outside of the listed emergencies?

PREGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
Thought I read somewhere Richmond might be keen. Could make sense with the Yze connection. Really wanted us to give him a proper run at it. Just the one game as sub for 20 minutes this year after outperforming all of Tholstrup, Sharp, Billings and Henderson is ridiculous.

Lol. You got somewhat lucky though.

Tholstrup sub most likely.

Welcome to Demonland: Caleb Windsor
Don't think this is 100% accurate. Adelaide ended up trading up to the Curtin pick with pick 11 and 15 for 8 and 17 from the Giants. We probably would have been offered 11 at best which in the end the Giants used on Phoenix Gothard, selected immediately before Kolt. Those others left on the board where Green, Leake and Wilson had we taken 11 for Petty. Unless we where to use 11 and 12 to trade up further, which is more than possible. Either way we wanted to keep Petty as a key position player who we clearly saw as pivotal for our team structure and age demographic.

PREGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
In: Petty, Laurie, Windsor Out: Fristch, Sharp, Tholstrup Leave two key forwards on the ground at all times please. Keep Jeffo in the team for now until Luker forces our hand at selection. Not sure Windsor has really earned the recall but I'd rather him as a sub than Sharp. Now or never for Laurie. Pretty sure Simon has him in the never basket though. Realistically Spargo will be at the front of the selection committees thoughts.

Disco Turner Player Rating
Turners development has been one of the rare highlights this season. Pick 22 of the 2021 mid-season draft. Great find from our recruiters. Fingers crossed Luker can follow in his footsteps.

CASEY: Rd 15 vs Coburg
Luker could have had 6 goals had he kicked straight, most were more than gettable. I have no idea what his conditioning is like post his illness but I wouldn't be opposed to him having a crack in the seniors after another game or two like that.

POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide
In Jeffos defence I reckon there was at least 3 times he was clear 20-25metres out in the forward 50 where he would have had an easy shot on goal had any of our players decided to lower their eyes. Halved a few aerial contests as well. Low bar I know but I think I've seen a few snippets to see he's worth persisting with long term. He's incredibly light and easily out-bodied by most players which doesnt help him when we move the ball as poorly as we do. I think he'll come on but is probably at least 2 years away from seriously contributing at a consistent level.

He's a Geelong NGA player unfortunately.

We may have covered this already but what's happened to Ollie Florent? Seemed a permanent staple in the Swans team and now on the outer. Haven't watched much of the Swans this year so haven't looked closely at his game. Worth considering?

Spargo returns. Billings and Adams the travelling emergencies. Looking forward to seeing how Kentfield goes without JvR next to him.

The Toby Sinnema Thread
Sinnema played for VC on Sunday and didn't look too bad on the wing. Has good acceleration and pace and broke lines on occasion. Skills by foot looked decent, hand balling is a bit untidy at times though still to team advantage. Doesn't appear to be afraid of the contest but is definitely an outside player at this stage. Look forward to seeing the next few games. Prasad seems to be playing well as a bottom ager at dandy but haven't personally watched a lot of him yet. I am hoping he will get a sneaky bottom age game at the champs considering SA have already wrapped up the title.

Who is our next captain?
Langford was co-captain of the Stingrays with Cooper Hynes last year.

Trade Targets
I was wondering about Duursma the other day. Too talented to be playing in the seconds at the roos. Wonder what's happening there?
-
That melee. And our gines
Apparently a melee is an acceptable setting for the umpires to ignore the rules and not re-set him to take the ball back behind the mark.

Can we talk about Kolt?
- Can we talk about Kolt?
Is this not just an example of sunken cost fallacy? He's had a limited pre-season and his form has been poor in all games and at all levels this year. Feels like he's being gifted games because he was a high pick and hoping that he will show something, not at all based on form. Even if they're not quite right, it must be disheartening for players like Laurie, Woewodin and Billings who can't get a look in despite playing infinitely better and with more consistency at Casey. I actually think Tholstrup will be a decent player for us, but clearly he needs more fitness via a proper pre-season. Don't think we're doing his development any favours by playing him in the seniors at the moment. I'd let him play out the year at Casey unless he starts smashing the door down.- 2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Toby Sinnema and Kalani White playing in their respective U18 state championship games tomorrow for those interested.- POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast
I'd leave Jeffo in for next week. He competes aerially and follows up at ground level at an ok level for a skinny 3rd year player. Having him as a solo key forward with limited rotations did him no favours. Pair him with JvR next week at the bare minimum. I'm more concerned about Sparrow having one touch to half time, Langdon turning to water with nearly any disposal, the deterioration of May and the numerous injury concerns we copped throughout the game. Not to mention the overall skill level of our senior players. It's a shame none of our Casey players really stood up except for Billings. I also think we need to seriously look at if our main training session 2 days from gameday is contributing to our poor performance in any way. If I'm not mistaken we always used to have it 3 days out and I believe most other clubs have it 3 days out also.- VOTES: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast
