  1. Is he a forward, is he a wingman is he a back? No one seems to know. Too many talls in a forward 50 wont work. A trade may be win win.
  2. Here is a hardnosed uncompromising opinion. Not aimed to offend and no disrespect intended for any current players. Delist: Gillies, Sellar, Magner, Couch, Jetta, Davis, Rodan Trade for a dime: Dunn, Bail, Nicholson Trade for decent mids: Watts, Tappscott, Blease Plus retirements for Davey and MacDonald - Frees up 15 spots, three taken by trades of quality, the rest from draft and rookie. We bottom out for a year or so but with a whole new breed, dynamic in the side. We recruit players with mongrel and with personality. I cant see any other way. Money ball or top up wont work when the list is so poor. Im even open to a trade of Fitzpatrick if he has value. Sorry but no one can be considered safe when your this far behind.
  3. The only way out of this mess is basically a massive cull. Get in a big group of new kids or midfielders and teach the players how to trust each other. it wont be quick. But going for hardnuts and players with a bit of arrogance (or personality - or even in some cases a pulse) would be a step up.
  4. Anyone who defends drug cheats has the same amount of credibility as they do.
  5. Lets be honest - where does jack fit? I see him as part of the problem.
  6. Its not like our track record.suggests we will make the wrong choice so calm down...
  7. Is still think that if roos coaches it will be us. What better legacy than breaking two of the AFL's biggest droughts.
  8. Imagine Brent Moloney's thoughts on karma if they announce Mark Neeld as Brisbane's new coach...
  9. People at his old local team seem to think he would come home and Adelaide need a forward. I'm not saying it will happen but mfc will propose it potentially.
  10. This has been going around for days mainly on facebook. I think its BS myself. No president yet a coach to be appointed?
  11. Sloane is on the market. I was told this tonight and I rate the source, then got on facebook and was hearing it again. Adelaide want Boyd and we want a young mid who wants to come home. If Boyd slips to second pick it will happen. If not it may not.
  12. Im hearing we are big on trying for a trade of our first rounder to Adelaide for Rory Sloane - particularly if Boyd falls through to us. You heard it hear first champs!! Rumour that Rodney Eade is out in front but not 100% on that.
  13. He might be staying.
  14. Clark, Hogan and Dawes all playing in the same side without at least one being injured? Surely you jest.
  15. can't say I agree. Byron Pickett created some run and combined well with a then fast running Davey; angry Phil played half the season as a midfielder in a side that made finals two years in a row and would have played more had he not been suspended more. Daniher could have coached a premiership between 2005-06 if we hadn't lost Scott Thompson from a list that he built. Green and players weren't ever picked or were ever going to be hard nosed mongrels. A good coach plays to his players strengths and gets a diverse mix of players. Bailey inherited a side that played finals the season before but without much younger talent coming through. He shaved off the older experienced players who had played in finals, recruited absolute spuds, gave them zero development so that it was ok that Cale Morton and Jordan Gysberts weighed the same two years after being drafted, sacked the captain who was the heart and soul of the side, embroiled us in tanking and left us decimated. Then Neeld came in and picked some half bakers and delistings to prop up a list that has had zero development. Stevie j was skinny but hard and played that way always.
  16. maybe Carroll found holland's kicking as frustrating as we did?
  17. stupid when you consider that daniher had to bring in Morecroft (fail), angry Phil read (?) and Byron Pickett to give it some much need mongrel then Bailey does the opposite and we get every skinny choir boy in each draft.
  18. Carroll got [censored] a few times and had a fight or to and we sacked him. Thought it was too harsh as he had a bit of mongrel unlike any of our current list bar viney and Clark.
  19. Thought trenners had zero impact and I worry about where he is at.
  20. yeah under rated for mine. Miss Carroll.
  21. I find it odd that Byrnes and Kent are singled out for poor kicking (1.5 and 2.2 respectively) yet no mention of other players who basically had no impact or were not even able to get the ball to force a scoring opportunity. I remember neitz had a few bad nights; Holland kicked 1.5 in a game against Sydney; but at least they got the ball! if things had been different Byrnes could have had six and Kent 4 and we'd be singing their praises. I liked Spencer above all tonight. His impact via tap outs was a major factor and Jamar might struggle to break back in this side. thought matt Jones was quiet. Thought tappscott once again had little impact. Wonder about a number of players. Thought Dunn was ok. McKenzie better than I remembered. Grimes a few possessions but little impact. Trenners is in trouble.
  22. I reported this ages ago. The extension offer was ages ago - and at the time he held off in the same way that Watts has. To see what is going to happen - coach, board, direction etc. he isn't going to just leave at first chance. He was once told by someone at the club that they would send the heavies after him if he left.
