I have to be honest and say I haven't seen much of Caddy but if there's better out there in the draft surely we will go for them instead. I just hope the recruiting team make every pick count as this is our most important draft in my memory.

Is your support of the MFC unconditional ?
Jesse Christ replied to Hannibal's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wow, getting smashed here in the polls benny-boy! I would walk away from this club in a heartbeat if we pass on Viney. I know it's not going to happen, but that is my major tipping point. Course I'm not going to stop loving the team for anything less than a stuff up of monumental proportions. Everyone here has a tipping point but you suppress it because your sub-conscious tells you it's not going to happen. -
3 Years for Jamar and McKenzie - seriously?
Jesse Christ replied to Watts Jurrah Dunn?'s topic in Melbourne Demons
If we had more players with McKenzie's tenacity we wouldn't be in the crap we're in right now. He gets 3 years because he is a "Neeld" type. Will stand up in a final. Jordie's only knock is his kicking. If he can fix it he would be more than handy! -
Is your support of the MFC unconditional ?
Jesse Christ replied to Hannibal's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thought provoking OP there Melbourne is the only club I have any passion for and I thought it was unconditional- but I just realised that they can certainly lose me. So I guess that means my support for the club is conditional Does that make me a bad person or just a rational one? It will be very hard for them to lose me as my tipping points are not likely to happen. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JESSE HOGAN
Jesse Christ replied to Little Richard's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yeah that's a good point- If Adelaide lose Tippet the chance of them risking their first pick on Viney goes down. Their need for a replacement tall precludes them from bidding on him. All we'll have to do is satisfy GWS, and we can do that by offering pick 3 instead of pick 4 for the MD pick 1. We have a major need for Hogan, but then there's Martin.. wow.. if that kid doesn't end up an absolute STAR I don't know what kid will! -
Keith "Bluey" Truscott - Best & Fairest
Jesse Christ replied to dees189227's topic in Melbourne Demons
Tom McDonald wins the Ron Barassi memorial trophy in second year at club and is a pick 53. Now every club would kill to have him. We seem to do better with our latter picks. Anyway I like to think that over at "PieLand" or "DogLand" they constantly rue the fact that they drafted X spud, when Howe or McDonald were available. -
I hope we are actually going for Cloke and Neeld was just playing games with the media. If we get Cloke then they'll want Martin even more and we can make them pay. Imagine that- Carlton take their ex coach and we take their FF. Brilliant! Then we can bend them over in a trade for Martin.

Eddie is getting desperate....
Jesse Christ replied to Sir Why You Little's topic in Melbourne Demons
Funnily enough that was to stop them losing GA to the other plastic bulltish club GC. It seems all rules and fairness are out the window when it comes to setting up new clubs. Because they have to do good and all, which I understand, but why at the expense of us who have been here a damn sight longer?! We need to poach a player or two off GWS to restore order. As it is right now it's GWS 1- Melb 0. and they've been here for all of 23 games as opposed to our 150 years. We should be stealing candy off them. Can we save our "warchest" (lol) till next year and "make it rain" all over Cameron and Greene? Would be ultimate payback. And would set them back. -
Exactly, being our sponsors is like putting up your company signage around a horrific car crash; people may not like what they see- but at least you'll get some media exposure. We always attract more than our fair share of media attention. In good times (lol) and in bad. They love us. I think we get more attention than say North, or Bulldogs or even St.Kilda (or perhaps I just notice our stories more)

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
Jesse Christ replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
Or you could say we swapped Scully for Viney and we got pick #4 and #13 thrown in. I'm sure everyone would be happy with that. Hell- a straight swap would have been more than enough.. throwing in picks 4 and 13 is like champagne showers time on a yacht in Spain. Depends how you want to look at it init? -
Aaron Davey reconsidering his position at Melbourne
Jesse Christ replied to Brayshaw Self's topic in Melbourne Demons
So if he's foot is buggered can we move him off the primary list and keep paying him or does he have to remain on the list? You would think if he couldn't play, and he knew it, he would do the right thing and step-aside in the quest to develop youth. IMO his best days are behind him, and it would be noble of him to follow in his mate Greens footsteps and hang up the boots -
Is just as valuable to us as he is other teams, I hope he stays- and if he goes I hope we replace him with ruck skill. I could cope with his loss if we could get Grundy. Maybe we give him to GWS and all they have to do is not say the names Viney or Grundy untill they come up in team selection day for their match with us

3/Hogan 4/Wines 13/Best Available 23/Viney Is my dream draft.. 4 walk up starters for us, arguably best 22 without playing a game -Culture changed, KPF locked up. We must nail this draft! NQR's from other clubs aren't going to be the difference. Although in saying that, if Neeld can identify talent that is available and he feels he can get something from them I will back his judgement. Wouldn't mind a Byrnes or Russell type. Both bring pace at least. Something we lack. Maybe even a Pearce type. If we lose Davey we have no real small forwards at all. I'll be happy to try anything if I can get something through FA

I haven't seen too much of Caddy so obviously I'd trust the club on this but he'd want to be good to even consider giving up 13 for. Feel that there will be many quality players left around that number so not really fussing about Caddy at this stage.

1 was enough. -
Sylvia and a swap of first round picks to Port for Boak? Yes please, where do I sign?
-
People need to realise calls for Sylvia to be traded aren't because he is a bad player- but because he is one of only a few in our team with some trade value and is the type of player that would suit a team in their window now- he is a cherry on-top kind of player and where we're at now is we need a consistant blue collar worker. I'm really torn with Col, I see the talent just don't know how to get it out consistantly. Maybe a better midfield around him would help. Hope we draft Wines!

Ahh that feeling of anything can go wrong, at any moment. Mandatory for any Melbourne supporter. Justifyably so. He'll stay. He wouldn't dare leave.

You mean he wants to sack 1/4 of the team that's won something like 14 out of the last 60 games? What a barstard!.. -

Topic of discussion- Mooney reckons we should trade Sylvia. It has some merit, although on initial thoughts I'm against it. Discuss.
