  1. Geez Hoges has turned it round the last few weeks.
  2. Sure, but it's extremely hard to switch on if you're having an off day.
  3. Not a good feeling about this one No pressure on the Port ball carriers, and shocking delivery inside 50. They'll break us open pretty easily at some point.
  4. North followed by daylight followed by Hawthorn.
  5. Disagree. His formative years were ruined by injury, but also by club led incompetence. Contrary to the suggestion in your post, him being made captain is a prime example of how we have basically killed him off. We agree that he's been damaged, just disagree on the cause!
  6. I tend to agree with this, but they really do have an eye on the future now. Dunn is the same, but yes, Grimes isn't getting the same treatment as others playing well in the VFL. He'll leave at the end of the year and, really, our response will be 'Meh'. Such a shame - classic victim of the Schwab/Neeld era.
  7. Perfect example of the flaw in a lot of people's thinking about this. At this point in time, Prestia is at the very least level with Jones, Tyson and Oliver and better than Vince, Michie (please!!), Petracca, Salem, Harmes, Kennedy, Bugg, ANB, Trengove and Newton. In five years, only those three, Petracca and, in an ideal world, Salem would be anywhere near him. To list these names as an example of our depth being too strong to make Prestia worth chasing is just wrong, especially when it's not pie in the sky that he would come to us.
  8. Do we really think that Warren Tredrea is doing anything other than looking after Port in writing this puff piece on his team's next opponent?
  9. In the past, he has certainly been one of the filthiest about losing, and how we have lost.
  10. This makes sense - Roos is a master of subtlety and subterfuge.
  11. This. We've got heaps of fit, in form players, and we're taking a team on a 6 day break that will then have to come back and play Hawthorn. Not sure of the sense in this, but we'll see I guess.
  12. Making some pretty big assumptions there. One, that I don't agree with him. I think the jury is still out, but we'll be proven right in the end. Two, that I can't see his argument. I can. But I stand by my assessment.
  13. Do you reckon that peanut Barrett feels bad in any way about heaping sh i t on a kid with an illness? Course he doesn't. Bottom feeding, muck raking scumbag.
  14. Yes, I agree Frost is best as a defender. But the original post suggested that if Tom McDonald doesn't sign, the FD will sort of shrug its shoulders and say 'oh well, we've got Frosty, so we've got options, don't panic anyone'. Suggesting Frost is an adequate replacement for McDonald is ludicrous.
  15. Loved the subtle pressure of this: “We’re definitely having a few good wins together and it’s not up to me for him to sign, but I really want him to stay.”
  16. So, the consensus I'm hearing is no deal?
  17. What are they?? Are they linked to the umps mic or something?
  18. Yep, I'd turn down $150k at NAB because my $80k for the same job at Westpac feels so much better because they're a 'bank on the rise'. Please.
  19. Gee this attitude is easy sitting in the bleachers. If you had 10 years to basically earn all the money you were ever going to earn in your life (give or take) and you were thinking about a contract for, say, 5 of those years, I'd say you'd make a pretty big effort to make the right decision. It is so easy to sit here and say 'oh, sign up and take less money to be part of a team on the rise'. God, how many people on this board would turn down substantially more money at a competitor because they love their current employer so much? Very, very few.
  20. I reckon he does it to gee everybody else up. I'd hope the club pays it back for him out the back door...
