  1. Here's how I see this playing out. Either we go with the young players, who have been playing all season, and get smashed by a more experienced team who will cut our inexperienced midfield and defence to shreds. Or, we bring in a whole raft of experienced players, who are playing either their first game for the year or their first game for two years, and get smashed by a slightly less more experienced team who will cut our semi-experienced midfield and defence to shreds, while something like three or four players run around like headless chooks in their first game back from extended layoffs. The planning for this one has not been good.
  2. What you're overlooking is how many clubs, over a period of 10 years, just drop for a year or two then smash it back up the ladder, while we sit here saying give it a couple of years, give it a couple of years. Everybody's sick of it.
  3. This sentence from the Guardian article made me do a little vom... ' A Round 10 mark of five wins and five defeats puts them equal to or better than six entire seasons since they last played finals in 2006.'
  4. They said on the weekend we were number 1 for goals kicked against inside 30m, and I doubt much will have changed after the Port game.
  5. LOL. Me too. Although Picket still provides lots of them.
  6. Just goes to show that less talent, but flat out effort, can beat huge talent that isn't 100% 'on'.
  7. I think the trouble is that after the next 3-4 weeks, we could very well be quite a distance from 8-10 range...
  8. Aaaand, while we throw in the chance to go 6-4, Carlton play Geelong on their home ground and have a very good look at going 5-5, and level with us.
  9. North and Hawthorn have a distinct home ground advantage in Tasmania. We get smashed twice a year (and usually lose another two). We're not making inroads in this market, and we aren't winning games, so what's the point? North and Hawthorn are also 16-4 between them this season, so they can do whatever they damn well like. We need to win games. Why do you think all the little kids are wearing Hawthorn jumpers and their families buying memberships? It's not because Hawthorn makes the most profit in the AFL. If we lost this million bucks, it would all come out in the equalisation wash anyway, let's be realistic.
  10. No, but why would we give up a home ground advantage. And, let's be honest. Finals are at the G so, if we make it, we're better off being able to win there than anywhere else.
  11. The anti-Watts prejudice is what is laughable. Easily in our top 5 today.
  12. He called the smack on Gawn in the second ruck contest of the game the same thing. It was Alastair Lynch. Another sniper of the highest order.
  13. Yeah that was absolutely incredible.
  14. You have got to be joking. They played one quarter and beat Brisbane by 8 goals today.
  15. And Dixon whacking Jetta in the face too. On the 5.0 business, the reason other team's key forwards kick 5.0 against us is because we let them mark it 20 metres out straight in front.
  16. You can bet your arse that if Port have worked out how to exploit our zone, then Hawthorn won't have too many dramas. And that Hogan miss, when we had all the momentum, just killed us.
  17. Next week, as in, the week after next week?
