  1. He also had to kill that ball in the last, when Bruest kept it in and whoever it was over the back kicked the sealer. Just had to tougher than that and kill the ball over the line.
  2. I count St Kilda and Carlton as the only games for the rest of the year in which we'll go in with a better than 50/50 chance. We're going to have to win some of these games, some time, to get any improvement at all this year. Edit: I'd be surprised if we beat Freo up in Darwin.
  3. We just had to win today. We won't get many opportunities that good and we just weren't classy enough to take it.
  4. Free agent.
  5. Set fire to it mate. You'll have more fun.
  6. No, you learn to dominate in the VFL, so that you are actually able to hold down a spot in the AFL without making people around you look like muppets
  7. Yeah, a few people have said that. It's a good point, but it smacks of throwing this game, which I don't like.
  8. Yep, you're probably right. But still seems like it happened incredibly quickly. I don't think Dawes is a long term bet, though.
  9. Seems weird - he was actually playing really well before he went out. Would hate there to be something seriously wrong, but would hate it more if he were down the pecking order below Dawes.
  10. Another 100+ gamer out the door, to be replaced by a 5 gamer with potential. And so the cycle continues.
  11. You're probably right. I think they seriously misjudged last week and thought we'd get over the line with the sameish team as has been playing all year. I think it has probably put a massive spanner in the works, because we'll get monstered this week running a number of players into AFL match fitness.
  12. No, we want to give him 100 games because a football club is made up of human beings, and building culture and looking after players is important to the general success of the organisation. Why do people (not you necessarily) consistently forget that players and others in a football club aren't robots?
  13. He plays a totally different position.
  14. VDB - baffling inclusion Kennedy - baffling omission Grimes, Pedersen and Dunn - baffling non-recalls Oscar McDonald and Kent - baffling that they've stayed in Again, I'm scratching my head. Why are we bringing in THREE underdone players against Hawthorn? Just doesn't make sense.
  15. Heritier is definitely best 22. Sorry.
  16. Here's how I see this playing out. Either we go with the young players, who have been playing all season, and get smashed by a more experienced team who will cut our inexperienced midfield and defence to shreds. Or, we bring in a whole raft of experienced players, who are playing either their first game for the year or their first game for two years, and get smashed by a slightly less more experienced team who will cut our semi-experienced midfield and defence to shreds, while something like three or four players run around like headless chooks in their first game back from extended layoffs. The planning for this one has not been good.
  17. What you're overlooking is how many clubs, over a period of 10 years, just drop for a year or two then smash it back up the ladder, while we sit here saying give it a couple of years, give it a couple of years. Everybody's sick of it.
  18. This sentence from the Guardian article made me do a little vom... ' A Round 10 mark of five wins and five defeats puts them equal to or better than six entire seasons since they last played finals in 2006.'
  19. They said on the weekend we were number 1 for goals kicked against inside 30m, and I doubt much will have changed after the Port game.
  20. Bit rough. Curry is hilarious.
  21. A month, actually. Hand surgery.
  22. LOL. Me too. Although Picket still provides lots of them.
  23. Calling them highlights is a stretch.
