  1. "Boys, I love youse. You love each other. You've prepared the whole season, since you arrived at the club, and for most of you, all your lives. You have all the skills and ability to win this today. They'll come at you, but we have the poise and importantly, the game style that's going to stand up today. No one got us this season. Our record against the top teams speaks for itself. We know we dropped the ball in round 19 against this mob. But we've been through that tape together and we've been working to rectify some of the small errors that cost us that day. You all know what I'm talking about. Our training has been brilliant and our game style is burnt into your brains. If you do the first thing that comes into your brain today, particularly in the first 15 minutes, you'll be right. The game will settle after that and it'll be just another tough game against an opponent who we know we can beat and beat well. Don't worry about the umpiring, careful with your man-on-man work . . . no 50 metre penalties today. Run straight at the ball when it's your turn and hold your positional structures when the ball is being controlled. You know how to do that better than any team ever to play this game. We all know it works and you are the best exponents in the comp. You're reinventing how the game is played. Today is just the icing on the cake. I absolutely know you can pull this off today, you know what's got to be done better than me. I'll be on the boundary, riding every bump, tackle, handball, kick and goal with you. I'm proud of everyone of you. Let's go and hunt these bast^&ds Boys."
  2. First Goal: BBB Norm Smith: Trac Most goals: Brown Winning Margin: 10 goals
  3. The big commentary box in the sky . . . "This is a real ding dong battle" - Lou Richards "Champagne football by the Demons" - Lou Richards again "Alex Neal-Bullen is right on 'is 'ammer" - Lou again "By golly Bob, Spargo almost 'ad 'is 'ead pulled orf that time" and Lou again "Langdon, all alone and unattended on the outer wing" - Doug Heywood "Petracca, lets rip with a huge torpedo c*&t kick" - Doug Heywood again "Kickett, just a good ordinary footballer" - Jack Dyer “Max Gawn’s long arms reaching up like giant testicles.”- Jack Dyer again "Jackson . . . you Beauty" - Mike Williamson And what we are likely to hear from the current crop of morons commentators "Great call BT" "Spot on Lingy" "Very much so Hodgy" "A grand final is a different game all together" "Both sides will be happy to get the four points today Daze" "Another goal to Spargo. That's his first for the day" "Both sides and evenly matched and have 18 players"
  4. That is a very kindhearted and generous description CYB.
  5. There are dozens of 'Cerras' over a 10 year period. There's less than a handful of 'Jacksons.' Happy to trade Jackson for Cerra and half a dozen first round draft picks.
  6. I checked my TV guide a few hours ago to see what time it came on. Disappointing.
  7. Another option . . . sound down with Roy and HG on while regularly checking the Demonland game day thread. Most 'Landers know more about the game than channel 7, so you get to have a laugh and not go insane listening to the Salad Dodger and James Notsoshaw.
  8. It's Dennis John Cometti's last call for Triple M. Having that sync'd would be the only way to go IMHO.
  9. The AFL Commission has just completed its investigation. Nothing to worry about. Just Jeelong falling to the bottom of the ladder.
  10. Um . . . . . Norm Smith. Depending on how one defines "failed" (e.g. not coaching their first club to a grand final), John Northey, Malcolm Blight, Malthouse and Walls were pretty good on their second time around.
  11. Carltank have been a graveyard for "highly successful people" for 25 years. Cook's legacy is assured - he is topping up his super now.
  12. Me and me mates do not recognise Horethorn's recent premierships as the side was clearly developed with the aid of tanking. Geelong had the benefit of massive F/S. Good luck to them. We don't recognise Brisvagas's three flags as they picked the eyes out of Fitzroy to achieve that. Like Footscray of today, Sydney won their 2005 premiership with the aid of favourable umpiring - so that doesn't count. And West Coke in the 1990's doesn't count as basically they had the whole of W.A. as their recruiting zone. So a state side - doesn't count.
  13. Basically anything that falls from the lips of BT, Tripple Chins, Lloyd, Cornes, Malthouse, Brayshaw, Brereton, Ling, Robinson, Healy, Russell, Ricciuto, Doppy Darcy, McLachlan. Basically, I only trust Daisy.
  14. Wow, just wow. Pretty much invented the modern game in 1970, completely out coached Haffey in 1977 grand final replay, birthed the modern day Sydney Swans. I could list another dozen examples . . . . . . . . .. . . . .
  15. Update 20 Players leaving ground now. Thanks to Demonland poster Anti-Saint for the updates from the ground. Cheers everyone. QD.
  16. Update 19 Max and Tommy Petty doing 40 metre kick-to-kick drills. Others still doing set shots.
  17. Update 18 Set shot drill. Kicking from 30 to 50 metres out. Max not in drill. Everyone else is.
  18. Update 17 4 drill running inside the centre square - 50 metre sprints at 80 percent. Bergo running this drill. Max and Jackson didn't participate.
  19. Update 16 Match sim finished Set shots at goal drill - start at 50 metres and run into 35 metres.
  20. Update 15 Still match sim . . . about 20 mins in. Viney kicked a nice goal.
  21. Update 13 Another match sim commencing. Kossi goal. 35 out 55 degree angle Max in forward line, Jackson in ruck against Majak.
