It was funny, when you gazumped me a few years ago I was a bit miffed - a rolled-up ball of resentment for years. My psychotherapist recommended I quit D’Land. Did that at 7pm one night. Nothing changed. So I rejoined at 7:05pm. I remember one weekend – quite a few years ago, when a poster presumptuously posted their three-word player analysis and ‘Land went into a meltdown because @joeboy's turf was being trampled on. I heard NBN Co called @Demonland and issued a cease and desist notice. Anyway, happy to share this onerous responsibility – especially when we play GCS and GWS. They are short weeks! As you know, it’s quite time-consuming aggregating the big-game data, and I’ll need a couple of dayz off work to do the Flogmantle game. Enjoy Q'land my friend. Why arn't Footscray and Colonwood pay'in more than 750K a year towards Lauchie and Brodie's costs? And who the hell at Melbourne didn't draft Larkey in 2016 when he eventually went at pick 73? Pathetic the lot of them.

I counted four players that probably are not AFL standard and would struggle to get a game elsewhere, and a further four that would probably only get a game at the bottom four clubs in a 'break glass in emergency' situation. So yes, it would look like 10 Deez players are AA standard when you coach a team with such a handy cap. The good news is that there are probably 6-8 players at Norf around which a formidable side can be built. It's going to take time. Reminds me of where the Deez were in '81 when Brasso returned. There were only eight players that made it through from '81 to '87 when we made the finals for the first time in 23 years. And Norf's eight players in 2023 are much better, comparatively, to ours. So it's a long trek - but they have commenced the journey and have begun constructing a solid platform IMHO.

Love your post @Engorged Onion. You are 100 percent correct. It's a disgrace. My only observation is this . . . I'm surprised you are surprised! :-). Humanity is, relatively speaking, arrogant, ignorant, and not particularly a species with a high level of consciousness concerning the common good. I know of no other mammal species that conducts itself in such a manner.
