  1. And no Love Shack! It's called virtual reality for a reason. I can't think of one thing digital that has AFL finger prints on it that doesn't completely suck.
  2. Both Hunter and Grundy were highway robbery. Thanks Bevo and Eddie.
  3. Sounds like the boat's got a two horse-power outboard mortor running on dirty fuel.
  4. One of my favourite topics. I have PTSS regarding '87 What do Peter Giles, Steven Smith, Roger Ellingworth and Neville Bruns all have in common?
  5. I'm with you all the way Sister/Brother (not sure if you're male/female 😀). Here's my perspective FWIW . . . I've dreamed for almost 50 years about the Dees having a powerhouse team. And until 2021, I had given up. Then we delivered the best 40 minutes of footy I've ever watched on the grandest stage of all. Over 18 months on, and I'm still on a high. And I'll be forever grateful to all the players at the club in 2021 for providing one of the great highlights of my life. How does this relate to TMac? I just love him. I've watched a lot of plodders go around for the Dees over 50 years, and Tommy is a very 'up-market' plodder. Honest, heart and soul guy. Not overly skilled, but has certainly made the best of his talents. And for the rest of his life he can say he played at CHF in a Melbourne premiership. The hardest position on the ground to play - and if you're beaten there, you don't often win the granny. And for that, I'll be forever grateful. So, my previous comment about TMac has that context. A supersonic plodder that delivered when it countered.
  6. Options: Ask the female players what term they would prefer The word 'guys' is the only regularly used word, previously referring to males exclusively, that I am aware of that has become somewhat gender-neutral in the recent past. Maybe that can work.
  7. and . . . um . . . play CHF in a premiership side. Less than 100 men have done it in 127 years. And I confidently forecast neither JVR or Love Shack will do it in 2023.
  8. Phuuuuuuuuuuk. Good point. Now I'm worried. BG will never kick 18 in a game now.
  9. took us 55 years to find an injury free, sane, high quality footballer to wear 31.
  10. As I have pointed out for 10 years here . . . not one player in the last 40 years has gone back to Perth of their own volition and been as successful as they were in Melbourne. Arguably, Wiz came the closest.
  11. Unbelievable. 2 mins to go. 67 to 52 Saints way. Say what you like about Lyon - he can coach.
  12. IMHO . . . Those that are arguing for one week and comparing Kossi's sanction to bumps handed out to others, are overlooking one basic, fundamental fact about the human experience. There is no justice in the world. And operating under the illusion that there is only causes sorrow and pain.
  13. What odds simmo doesn't make it to queens b'day?
  14. Best I've seen - in no particular order . . . Scott/Tuck/Matthews Fitzpatrick/Sheldon/Ashman Cox/Judd/Kerr (as named in the granny side) Gawn/Tracktor/Choo Choo Of that lot, only Scott/Tuck/Matthews delivered multiple premierships. My view is that premierships are all that count. Every player I know off would swap an AA, B&F or BL for a premiership medallion. So on that criteria, Scott/Tuck/Matthews win out with Fitzpatrick/Sheldon/Ashman a close second (Sheldon had moved to the HBF in their second premiership - his place in the triad taken by Phil Maylin. When Dees pull another flag in six months, Gawn/Tracktor/Choo Choo stand with anything I've seen in 50 years.
  15. I follow Norf with my Mate, who's mad Norf. So know a bit about them. As I have previously remarked, they are no where near a bad as some pundits think. There's eight players that get a game at Melbourne. West Choke, EssenDrugs, Horethorn, St. Kilda would be lucky to have eight between them.
  16. We tried moving him forward @Jaded No More. Mixed results.
  17. None of us can stand the Filth. But based on 2022 and one game in 2023, they are light years ahead of 12 other teams (at least). It's an awful reality with which we all have the come to grips with at sometime.
  18. I love you Rubbish Binny. But this will bite you on the bum.
  19. When we have to play at Pork-barrel Park, let's point out the phukkkked-up nature of the ground's shape.
  20. As I understand it, the CBA describes and defines the minimum rights and obligations of the parties. This includes injuries. Individual contracts further refine, within this framework, specific arrangements put in place for the player.
  21. Does that include Ginnivan?
  22. Nothing unreasonable about this at all @picket fence. People ask me, who's going to make the eight? And I always arrive at the same answer. Jeelong and South get a free pass curtesy of AFLney. We make it of course. Then quite frankly, the rest are all around 12-18.
