PREGAME: Rd 01 vs St. Kilda
Can you actually just stop, the continual bagging of Chandler is embarrassing he’s shown plenty at the top level over a sustained period. Your analysis of the ruck position in the game with the changes to the game is way off. Especially last touch and no waiting for rucks to nominate will mean virtually no side will go with 2 rucks unless they can play a second position effectively which Max Gawn can’t , he’s an elite ruckman who along with Dean Cox is the greatest of the modern era, “Too bad if he doesn’t like it” you can’t be serious on this comment Heath will have to wait his turn and he will be fully aware of this with his omission last week, not to mention our style of play doesn’t fit in with 2 rucks. He’s not getting a gig in the forward line ahead of Miochek, JVR, Fritsch or a fit Kentfield and Jeffo. We ain’t going taller then that. Plenty of clubs - who exactly will play 2 rucks, St Kilda have Marshall and TDK who can play multiple roles effectively with Marshall a capable fwd and TDK able to play key back or forward. They will share the duties and let’s not forget how Adelaide, Essendon, Port, Dogs, Sydney, GWS, North, Brisbane, Collingwood, Carlton, Richmond and Hawthorn will all only play 1 ruck with another pinch hitting tall. West Coast and Geelong barely have a proper ruck and with the speed into the game Matt Flynn is going to be found very much out this year. Then there’s Freo who will go with Cox as the main ruck option and use Jackson in the midfield as they have done all pre season And wasn’t King getting rid of Clarrie his first mistake, or did you forget your tantrum over that. Heath like Gawn behind the Russian, Cox behind Gardiner, Cameron behind Grundy, Nankervis behind Maric, O”BRIEN behind Jacobs will just have to wait

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Richmond
So now it’s about possessions, my lord The same poster who doesn’t rate Nick Daicos Stevie Wonder has a greater chance of identifying what players do and what their roles are.

PREGAME: Practice Match vs Richmond
Not giving up on him just yet, but he needs to put together a decent season, whilst he’s shown some promising glimpses, there’s some basic controllable parts of the game he doesn’t do well

PREGAME: Practice Match vs Richmond
No doubt it will be due to Goodwin’s mismanagement of Jeffo and no ther reason

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 18th February 2026
Coached his brother for a period one of the best talents I have seen, but off field issues and lack of professional application saw that he never made it at state level, let alone to the AFL. Dallas McAdam could have been anything but he’s just another in a long list of boys from the communities who haven’t reached their potential

Jeffo Ready to Soar in 2026
He’s shown enough to persevere with and TBH tough gig especially with our fwd entries, Doesn’t have to be a breakout year just continued improvement, consistency and heading in the right direction

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 18th February 2026
Going on the last 2 years we didn’t lose 2 of our best 3 players. They were both part of the cultural problems and only 1 was near his best on field. Gawn and Viney need to remain in their roles and Chandler and Rivers can be part of the leadership group

2026 Predictions
I wasn’t we looked tired in the last quarter against the Hawks in the qualifying final. I thought we were also coming off 2 emotional highs. I predicted a 10 goal loss, the surprise for me was the way it occurred, I expected we’d put up a fight early but get over run as we tired.

Rolling Weekly Best 23
When picket says anything player related especially to do with movement, structure or without ball in hand, absolutely disregard it

MATCH SIM: Friday 6th February 2026
I actually struggle with these posts and not directed specifically at you but can’t get my head around posters who won’t get their hopes up until official medical report is released … Yet have no issue assuming the worst case scenario until the official medical report is released

Rolling Weekly Best 23
That didn’t seem to be an issue when you were replacing Howes with Latrelle Pickett

Please explain
Was at the game and even though we were 3 goals down we were actually playing well just rushing our inside 50s a little failing to nail our entries with goals and not taking on some inside kicks that were presenting themselves. At that point I turned to my son and said we aren’t playing badly we just need a goal for our possession. Literally the next stoppage Harmesy broke from stoppage and took on the kick that presented itself and hit Fritsch on the lead. The CBDs after that was us getting first hands on the footy taking the game on and the Dogs actually failing to protect the back of the stoppage which was a really poor coaching decision by them to just not stop momentum late in the 3rd. From there our tails were up, we took on kicks and destroyed them in the contest Fabulous night I will never forget

Bomberblitz's MFC Preview
Yes. I left Willmot out for a reason he is a talented evolving into a very good player right in front of us. Very underrated in how important he is in moving the footy in transition from D50 also reads the play very well and anticipates the opposition exits in their transition and sets up really well

Lester, Gardiner, Payne, Answerth are hardly world beating defenders they just play the system, Bowey and a 2024 Mcvee would have slotted in that defence as would Turner. Charle Cameron of last season was well below his best and Kossie is streets ahead of him as Gawn is over Fort, Connor Mckenna is also just another player. Whilst every player wants to be one the most overrated title in footy is Premiership player, just look at these groups of players Stuart Anderson, Shaun Renouf, Brett Jones, Matthew Stokes, Stephen Gilham, Brad Pearce, Gary Moorcroft, Billy Frampton, Mike Pyke, Jacob Townsend, James Jordan Then you have Robert Harvey, Neiter, Robbie Flower, Gary Ablett Snr, Matthew Pavlich, Buddha Hocking, Brad Johnson, Paul Kelly, Nick Riewoldt, Lenny Hayes. As I said in another topic Stars win you big games and good defensive structure has you in most games. When Harris Andrew’s was taken away from playing the game on his terms that Brisbane side especially their defence came back to the pack. It’s your role players and bottom 6 who make the difference, if you’re loaded with half a dozen big money stars and you fall away dramatically in your last 6-10 in your 23 and don’t have a sound system you’ll be found out in September if not beforehand- just look at these groups Dogs

And that’s why it’s an interesting watch for the entire season, I’d be surprised if it clicks consistently early

Bomberblitz's MFC Preview
Stars help you win big games and flags. If you can defend you will always be in games If you have a squad who buy in and understand the game plan enough to implement it over 4 quarters and you are are going to be a reasonable side, if a few of your players take the next step and you move to being a good side 23 players working for each other with more of a WE over ME philosophy like we had in 21 and no matter who the 23 are picked once they are on the same page and honest players 8-10 games is possible. The ball movement desired if it works without being burned on turn over and having mids prepared to hold structure, avoid all getting drawn into the honeypot, commit to the 1%ers and have a desire to run hard both ways will see a side who is pushing for a spot in the wildcard Going to be an interesting watch
