I was at a footy club 50th anniversary dinner occasionally checking the scores and at 1 stage in the second half were 41 points down. I thought that’s that a mate on my table said a bit later ou won. I was shocked and enjoyed watching the replay the next morning. Living in WA the next month was a very special time.

You’re using logic when quoting PF, they don’t go together

PREGAME: Rd 23 vs Hawthorn
I think you need to stop behaving like the petulant child who didn’t get what they wanted and threw his toys out of the cot. You blamed Goodwin for everything before, well clearly the other coaches and specifically the forward coach probably realise where your lovechild is in the pecking order. First of all Petty and JVR have been good the last two weeks, Petty probably played his best game of the season last week and maybe just maybe they are getting some cohesion together with Fritsch, 3rd best functioning forward line since the bye. I didn’t agree with Jeffo being dropped when Goody last dropped him but there’s no reason to change things now. I’m still unsure whether he makes it or not, shows glimpses and liked his game against Brissy last week but he isn’t exactly banging the door down or showing the intensity and second efforts on a regular basis to demand selection. You would drop Mcvee, who whilst not at 23 and 24 level is playing better than earlier in the season yeah lots drop him whilst he’s showing better signs and we’re trying to get him to sign. Viney whilst he has several limitations needed to be in the mid rotation with Clarry if you’re playing Trac fwd more and want to blood Windsor inside against a gun midfield group. We know what we have with Woey, sorry to say he ain’t making it. I think the line needs to go through Laurie as a mid and he needs to be tried elsewhere he’s not an AFL mid. Brown has endeavour but decision making with ball in hand and disposal are still a way off. Kentfield I love him, know him, coached against and coached him, he’s coming along nicely. Will not be hampered in terms of development by not debuting yet and getting a full pre season under him. When he debuts, his opponent will know he won’t be intimidated Your posting on team selection on a weekly basis is predictable and warranted the response it got

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Yes RT suspect he will be gone before our current picks, composed, good user by foot and reads the play well. Has ability to develop into a good midfielder after he IMO spends first few years at AFL level across half back

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Curtin will probably drop out of first round, season hasn’t been great and out injured with TBA. Koby Evan’s just back from injury and impressive in first hit out back last week, may rise with a good finish to the season.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Sydney culture IMO is not what it was under Roos and Horse early days. They used to give you an audit every time you played them and that started to change once they signed Franklin. The Bloods culture started to fade a little and over time they moved away from the hard run, hard at the contest team and played a brand from 2018/19 onwards which like the Cats for a long period was good for home and away but going to be tested in finals. That’s not to say he wouldn’t be a success with us, without Kennedy he didn’t have the inside contested beast he would have with us to compliment the way he had the Swans moving the footy in transition

Farewell Charlie Spargo
Allegedly this guy coached, the way he critique and comments on players and games makes that very hard to believe, a couple of laps and circle work would have been frequent

Simon Goodwin respect thread.
Thank you Simon, you achieved what I never thought I would see and it is a night I will never forget, nor will my oldest son who (although a Pie) saw his father in tears probably for the first time and realised this was dad living a childhood dream. One day when the dust settles you will be only ever remembered in a positive light by all the Dee’s faithful.

Simon Goodwin Sacked
Can’t thank Goodwin enough for what I thought I would never see, but September 25th 2021 was one of the greatest days in my life. Thank you Simon from the bottom of my heart, best of luck in whatever path life takes you down from here. Right call moving forward but what a disgrace that it was leaked, the rat needs to be found and walked out the door immediately.

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Of the WA boys, really like Swan Districts boy Tylah Williams, great lateral movement, clean at ground level and good foot skills, fwd craft. west Coast NGA but they have him Wes Walley, Koby Evans as NGA and Charlie Banfield as FS. Williams will go late second round or 3rd round I think.

GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs West Coast
Same here, except for the last line always care. Coaching though well past my use by date as a player. Hoping to see some dare with structure throughout when I watch the replay. Don’t want to see any individual selfishness if we’re in total control need to see the team first discipline. Make no mistake they will come out fired up young group on a trip away. Go dees

The List Manager Tim Lamb
Laurie should be played in the VFL as half back or small high half forward conduit connector IMO he’s not going to make it at AFL level on ball but you need to try everything before delisting him. He has good disposal by foot

Let’s wait and see how it transpires, if he’s fit to play he plays. Just deal with the pain There’s no such thing as a dead rubber, certainly not on Demonland

PREGAME: Rd 21 vs West Coast
- Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
You may think it’s ridiculous but it’s probably why we have a disconnect with our players and lacking in leadership. It’s not a crystal ball it would have shown the footy world they as individuals had absolute buy in and wanted to build a legacy. I’m not asking them to take massive unders or even take them but let’s not complain about them copping criticism. Both are probably victims of things beyond their control Trac the kidney/spleen injury and Clarry with his mental health. It’s not just on field, Clarry caused a big disconnect with his offield behaviour through 2023 and into 2024, which still runs today in the playing group I fully understand he has personal issues that impact him and may be the reason he is not at the required fitness level he needs to be. Nobody mentioned $500k for a player, but if we’re paying $1 to $1.2 million give me a second round pick and we’ll pay $3-4 00k to him and have a further $8-900k for a mid who is prepared to get the best out of themselves in terms of preparation and every week is prepared to run both ways.- Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
No they are crying because they are performing at $700k level and being paid a lot more. The really good clubs set a culture where players want to stay and leaders take unders to set that culture. This enables you to spread the load and have more top level players Pendlebury, Selwood, Hodge all did it. Sydney used to under Roos but I think started to lose the blood’s culture once they signed Buddy. Gawn is probably the only one we have with this mindset. If you want to take the big money you take the expectation and criticism that comes with it- PREGAME: Rd 21 vs West Coast
I came looking for any intelligent conversation about the upcoming game, but as you say the negativity is astounding. Yeah we’re not were we need to be, but FFS I’ve attended 3 work colleagues funerals in 5 weeks, people need to get some perspective- PREGAME: Rd 21 vs West Coast
Ruben Gibney can play, Elijah Hewitt can play, Harry Edwards will be a decent defender, Jobe Shanahan is going to be a player, but a lot of their kids being asked to shoulder a massive amount of responsibility. New list manager has a massive task ahead- Time to go Goody?
The 9 o’clock tap to Clarrie was mind boggling, hard hands above his head went straight through him and straight delivery inside 50 toget them within 5 points. We played with dare for 3/4 but once they got within 4 goals that was the time to kill 3 mins with repeated stoppages, slow play. That’s on the coaches and the players. You knew the Saints had to run and gun and it needed to be discussed at 3/4 time- PREGAME: Rd 21 vs West Coast
West Coast are young and as such have embraced the get away from town and be a tight knit group scenario a little this season. This has ambushed written all over it After yesterday’s 4th quarter I’m not sure Gawn and co have the bottle. As for the coaches whatever they say to the players won’t get through the disconnect is there - Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
