  1. Thanks to all the track watchers
  2. Good luck to Jai, he’s putting the work in to leave no stone unturned in getting the best out of himself. Midfield is a tough gig, lots of craft to learn and when you develop and become a midfielder of note opposition mids coaches will do what they can to counter your influence and you have to evolve and adapt again. If he becomes a regular mid who does a job with some impact it’s a step forward, not all mids who impact have big possession stats nor are they all A graders. He’s a long way from it and not suggesting he will ever get there but Josh Dunkley didn’t become a midfielder who influenced games overnight
  3. I have zero interest IAH, like the Indigenous Allstars vs Freo last year no accountability just an exhibition game which allows players to shine yet doesn’t expose weaknesses many have. I loved the concept in the past when those games meant everything to the players involved. I’m all for each state selecting a Best 23 at the end of the season and presenting a jumper AA style but this concept not for me
  4. Walk out the front and tell that to the front wall, the response and ability to comprehend the sanity behind what you have correctly outlined will be similar
  5. Yes I have concerns re his desire to compete, he has plenty of tools and shows some good signs. It’s not quite there yet, may never come but just not quite prepared to put a line through him yet. I have plenty of faith in Luker and know he won’t die wondering
  6. If Kentfield and Jefferson have breakout years that will be a massive step in the right direction
  7. Fox Footy currently has the 2008 GF on. Hawks forward line has Buddy, Mark Williams, Cyril Rioli playing forward and Chance Bateman rotating through
  8. Carlton had Garlett, Yarran and Betts at one stage. It wouldn’t surprise me if Freo under Neesham had 3 at some stage
  9. If we move the ball quickly and he applies himself with the running required for the HHF role as he did after being dropped Frittata could have a big year as will Chandler, while Windsor and Lindsay could have big years and be very influential in our transition
  10. It’s embarrassing but we know it won’t end and possibly Demonland biggest fool will keep it going anytime Clarry performs well he will reignite this thread. A man that old who refuses to consider the real reason Clarry was moved on, will never change their view despite the overwhelming evidence
  11. Cmon the Bhoys, The ability to recover from a football game vs AFL is in the impact. Not saying football players wouldn’t be sore after a game they are with the kms covered but the general hits in AFL from shepherds and the bumps leave you requiring longer recovery periods. I know in the old days (and still in the NRL) top players would play VFL/WAFL on a Saturday fly to Perth Saturday night Sunday morning for a State of Origin game on Tuesday and back it up again the following Saturday or play an Escort Cup game midweek, but I do not believe that is possible for today’s players. AFL has developed massively in the last 30 years with the increased speed, power running and science behind players strength and explosive power base that the velocity in a hit or bump now is huge. Football on the other hand IMO has reduced the physical nature of their game in terms of tackling etc. Sides no longer play domestic league, cup and European campaigns with squads of 16 across those tournaments. The squads in Europe are massive and they have the ability to rest players on the bench in a break glass in case of emergency mode
  12. In some European leagues they take a 3 week break over the Christmas and New year period. An off season break for Premier League footballers is from mid may to mid/late June however as little Goffy mentioned top level players may have international duty with European Championship and World Cup every 4 years on an alternating 2 year gap. Those competitions are run during June and July. So if your national team doesn’t qualify you will be off for a 4 week period over May and June, your pre season is highly likely to be overseas with friendly competitions mixed in with training camps. The players on international duty over the offseason would still get a 3 to 4 week break but would have an individually tailored fitness programme
  13. Big thanks to all the track watchers
  14. Weddle and Gruzewski both currently showing a lot more but drafting in hindsight is always easy but the suggestion Goodwin hampered Jefferson’s development is laughable
  15. And I’m agreeing with you it’s fairly obvious what’s occurring with McCadam. The poster is a [censored], needs to keep to his promise and leave.
  16. According to anyone with a brain he’s recovering from a severed achilles, long injury recovery around the 12 month mark. He’s getting some kms into the legs and looks in decent shape, so would anticipate fairly confidently he’s on a managed program under the S&C. And you think the poster you responded to doesn’t unnecessarily pot our players.
  17. It’s true with Luker, he has mongrel and is very competitive. You don’t have to have both but IMO you must have a competitive desire to play at the highest level. Those who just have talent don’t last
  18. Can confirm he does have mongrel, no question about it
  19. Big thanks to all the track watchers
  20. Who said he didn’t there is nothing within the post you quoted to suggest he didn’t or did impress. This time last year Demonlanders ( not you) were bemoaning that Bowey went backwards nobody gave any consideration to the impact of injury on him in 24 when he was out for an extended period after Rd 1 with an injury that didn’t allow for kms to be got into his legs. One thing I know about Kolt is he is a competitor and his disappointing year last year won’t be lost on him lol
  21. Good to hear and development isn’t linear, takes time and you need sometimes to stick with it for the long term benefits whilst also considering other factors. For those critical of him being tried off half back there’s often long term reasons. You want players to have a few strings to their bow and also think of the list build moving forward. If Trac goes and we push Rivers up the ground, Judd hasn’t resigned yet will AMW come back as he was progressing- who do we see given time will fill that role to give us rebound off D50 and on turnover Another factor is Windsor had an interrupted pre season so be careful not to throw the baby out with the bath water. There were a few glimpses and cameo moments in his run off half back last season to not give up on the rotation off HB through the middle or wing with Windsor
  22. They wouldn’t inject a hot spot he’d be in a moon boot and load managed Achilles issues can be very debilitating and can linger for extended periods would not be surprised if JV is doing a lot of conditioning on the bike and/or in the pool
  23. He’ll move better now, he’s trimmed down to look similar to what he was in his prime, he’s also got the added incentive of proving people wrong. The question isn’t whether he can play or was a great, the question is did we do the right thing and it really isn’t up for debate IMO. It’s an indictment it took him being moved on and virtually unwanted by 17 clubs for the penny to drop. He’s not the first and won’t be the last player who needs to be shown the door to wake up
  24. We know you’re not good at keeping promises, “Last thing you will say”, I very much doubt that The majority were hoping when the Clarry deal went through you”d keep to your promise of leaving Demonland
  25. Isn’t Yze from up that way and also of Albanian decent
