  1. Wonderful and sobering post and I hope Toni found joy in the win and shared it with her family. If nothing else last night provided no doubt a treasured memory for her and her loved one’s they will hold forever. It puts into perspective the important things somewhat
  2. 6. Viney 5. Rivers 4.,May 3. Gawn 2. Nibbler 1. Langdon
  3. Are you surprised his posts are always over the top
  4. Allan, Urquhart, Boxshall and Kelly all contested mids but WAs midfield lacks that touch of class. Burke on the outside is a running machine and Hayes and Angove will give some exciting passages but Vics will have them covered although Riddle is a very talented developing ruckman
  5. If you’re insinuating I’m woke, you’re off the mark in a massive way but that will give my mates a good laugh. I like Presidents who are seen and not heard, Kennett was all about self promotion same as Koch and I knew an assistant from one of the clubs you were referring too who just wished the president would shut up. I also like leaders who don’t jump to attention and call press conferences to bow to the pressure of the media or Demonlanders who feel the god given right to be spoon fed daily on the inner workings of the club. This place blows up when a story is released about club A and B being into player X and because we aren’t mentioned it means we’re sitting on our hands. As I’ve said on other threads I will hold my judgement to see how we go for the remainder of this season and next.
  6. National u/16 Championships commence this weekend I believe BVR has been named co-captain of WA
  7. Yet some will say both Hawthorn and Collingwood have been less arrogant and their culture improved with both Kennett and Maguire moving on
  8. Best of luck pup, hopefully the first of many and the start of a long career
  9. So life’s good spending time with a loved one while they are doing something they enjoy
  10. Yes seen a lot of him big strong bull, but his disposal by foot is really poor. I know Hawthorn have shown interest in him but I don’t expect him to go early
  11. I don’t suffer fools old dee, they don’t warrant my time or response. Hope you’re going well and not to disheartened by the current situation we find ourselves in. I have my health, a roof over my head, a wonderful wife, sons who are turning into fine young men and the family overall are in a good place. On the footy side of things, what can I say, us older folk have seen this all before, whilst the MFC are currently struggling, it’s not all bad, I have a role that I love and keeps me busy, I occasionally get to watch my boys play and still regularly get to go to the Ammo’s to share good times, talk about old stories and a few beers with good friends. In a nutshell as bad as things may seem there are always positives. Keep the faith and enjoy your time with family and if you’re still getting along to the Ammo’s smile and enjoy
  12. Yep agreed, things aren’t good but they can turn back in a similar manner as the have turned downward. If the downturn continues for a sustained period without signs of change/improvement then I will become concerned
  13. West Coast have Charlie Banfield next season and younger brother Harper the following year, these changes won’t help them either whilst they are in rebuild phase. Charlie is going to be a very good player
  14. Why do you and others bother trying to reason with this [censored]. he’s an absolute embarrassment to himself and his game day posting coupled with his ideas of what he would do if he was the coach highlight how out of touch he is. I am not over the moon about the current status and way we’re playing but to kick us while we’re down and continually trying to rewrite recent history is not the way to go about getting out of the current slump we’re in. Thank god people like this are miles away from making any meaningful decisions around the club
  15. He’s one of our Sorrento Duncraig boys, he’s a similar to what we have in terms of big bodied mid who isn’t quick. He can play forward and rotate through but obviously behind the Freo mids. Pace is his weakness and I’m not sure he’s that quick running explosive mid we need
  16. Ffs talk about clutching. Who needs journalists to kick us when we’re down when we have our own supporters. Gawn is not now or ever will be a forward and neither is Grundy, if you think differently you have NFI
  17. He’s upping his value the last few weeks
  18. Yet 2 years ago Demonland was lauding Chico for providing this. I don’t by that either way it’s never simply that black and white
  19. You need a mix of inside bull and speed in the middle or you need to get speed on the ball with your movement. Windsor, Rivers, Kozzie have it and we have shown interest in Cody Angove so no doubt the list is moving towards having more leg speed
  20. These were the points for pondering in bringing it up a) LDU has not got nearly close to Oliver levels in terms of consistency, game impact, ability and standing in the game b) Is Oliver part of the current problem there appears to be a disconnect in the group c) LDU has started to show some more consistent glimpses of his ability is he just about to reach his potential d) Is Oliver at a point that without a change he will never get back to the levels he has been before e) Sometimes you have to give to get f) Love Oliver and everything he’s given us but if the outcome benefits both he and Melbourne I’m not against it and some deals are win wins for both clubs
  21. Question for Deelanders North come to you and offer LDU straight swap for Clarrie. Clarrie says he wouldn’t mind a change of scenery Do you do it? There’s a few extra points to ponder re this I would add pros and cons but will see the responses first
  22. I don’t think he’s ready, he had an interrupted pre season. He really stepped up last season for Subiaco seniors when given an early taste to the point both he and Kolt were mainstays in the side. Thought he may have been picked up last year but wasn’t. Think with a good pre season he has some potential
  23. It’s a myth Darling’s form in his draft year wasn’t great. He went from rag dolling opponents as an underage player in colts the previous year to playing seniors in his draft year where he really struggled against older stronger opponents. This is where I believe recruiters had doubts on his ability to transfer his junior form to senior footy. Maybe in hindsight it assisted him in learning and developing an understanding of how to play against bigger bodies
  24. I love your optimism Bin, but can’t see it myself. However I’m also aware of the big picture and it’s not all doom and gloom. Our flag tilts long term don’t die with the end of May and Gawn’s career’s as others seem to think.
  25. We do but our personnel is a little more banged up than Carlton’s was last year. That’s not to say that hard decisions and setting things in place don’t assist us to progress and evolve for next year in a similar fashion to 2020/2021
