  1. If you’ve coached you will be aware of the difficulties of implementing change and breaking players away from what they have done for years. How hard is it to run with the ball carrier and feed off @Sir Why You Little asks well if it were that simple, this falls back to previous complaints of why we had so many in at a contest only for an outside opponent to be hit up, now we back our teammate to win the contest and have the outside option. This isn’t easy to break into development kids let alone senior players who have had the previous plan embedded into them for 4 years. Windsor, Langdon, Langford, Lindsay, Bowey and McKee are huge with our style of play now along with the buy in from Trac, Oliver and Viney. We now use quick hands 2, 3,4 to get it out to space where we know we will have a runner and a second and third runner to create a chain or go lateral/45 with a kick and potentially another runner to receive. We are making the ground bigger and this is also benefitting our f50 entries with our players getting separation We didn’t have the runners before because we kicked long and got numbers into our F50. That transition has to be a group thing, believe in your team mate and provide the run from behind for the HB receive as opposed to kick long and press up as a defensive unit. There is still a lot when we move the ball forward of the team pressing up and settling up defensively which along with our lift in pressuring the ball carrier and corralling which is creating the forward half turnovers and repeat entries. For mine the transition took time for a few reasons Mcvee and Kossie with their foot skills and Kossie xfactor Viney, Oliver and Trac recalibrating to not always kick first option Lifting the pressure across the ground to cause turnovers and start the handball chains to create movement on the outside Belief Understand though we aren’t the finished article and we will transgress occasionally
  2. We’re using it but we regularly change lanes with 45s, lateral handball and fwd handball to hit the outside player and then if available will hit another 45 or a player ar30-40m out inside F50
  3. Just stop Swyl massive time and effort went into the changes from pre season they were disgraceful but the glimpses were there and we kept telling posters they were there, but you went with your standard I have higher expectations than others nonsense
  4. Exactly what I was about to say the notion we turned this around in a flight back from Adelaide, a recovery session, 1 main session, a captain’s run and a few review and strategy meetings is laughable. There’s a lot who don’t understand the background work which goes in over a sustained period to implement a plan and break ingrained habits is huge
  5. Oh you mean The learnings The journey It’s tiresome but at least it’s quietened down for a bit, although guaranteed it will be going again as soon as the siren sounds on our next loss or even team selection
  6. They have a few who can cause problems if we aren’t mentally switched on. The group is going well and improving as we build, now we face a week where we go are going to go in as favourites The expectation is we will win, no we have to deal with that and the Saints are copping heat in the media with Ross Lyon well versed in setting up an us against the rest mentality also able to get his playing group out of Melbourne, desperate for a win and focussed on the job. Yes if we play the way we have been we will win, but we are going to get challenges thrown at us they will bring pressure and fight, Steel, Jones, Boxshall , Windhager are hard and honest, they have run with Hill and Wilson and as you mention Wanganeen-Milera who along with Sinclair can hurt you with the footy. Higgins, Sharman, Phillipou and Owen’s all talented in their forward half not to mention Marshall is in good form so they are more than capable Need to bring the same pressure game, effort, intensity and remain composed to deal with expectation and the challenge Danger game if we underestimate them
  7. He’s making Olisik look like Einstein, concern for mental stability
  8. That win was Optus, first time we played there and beat them. Think the last time we played them at Subiaco was when Tmac won the game for us almost at the death with the goal from top of the square whilst being tackled
  9. Not uncommon some players take in too much Gatorade during breaks and when they start moving again the body reacts
  10. Yeah I get where you’re coming from, just to clarify I’m positive love the build and transition we’re making. That post was more directed at those who will find a negative in any performance, whether they want to be correct about Goody being the wrong guy or team selection so it was literally to state we ticked almost every box the coaching group would have wanted going into the game. At the same time we’re getting more cohesive each week with the game plan, games into the younger players and the likes of Clarrie and Trac building back to their best but it not being if they don’t perform it impacts the outcome. We are building nicely, will still get the odd bump in the road but heading in a positive direction. That’s all without mentioning Kozzie who has entered serious A grade status in the last 5 weeks
  11. Trac’s goal from the Salem chip pass just on 50m to the Punt Rd end I think it was, was almost identical to the opening goal of the 2021GF
  12. It doesn’t matter what you watch or how many times you don’t know what you’re looking for it’s laughable that you continue to comment
  13. 6.Kozzie 5.Clarrie 4.Max 3.Trac 2.Salem 1.Langdon
  14. Think Viney comes in for Spargo, AJ creates a lot of havoc in the forward line Does Tmac come back in Lever should be better with a game behind him but competition for places now
  15. That’s a great team win, still building and still room for improvement but we’re heading in the right direction
  16. Great overall pressure performance across the board Sydney constantly under pressure and turning it over trying to exit D50. F50entries much better with some obvious lowering of the eyes. As a group forwards did their job. Mids fantastic with clearance work and Turner getting better every week down back. Queue for next week and the usual suspects telling us the FD got it wrong again with their selection
  17. Prevented Mccartin from intercepting and Melksham prevented Blakey from having any impact but if it’s not in the stats half of Demonland won’t pick it up
  18. This is like when you’re trying to convince yourself Santa is real
  19. Posters who don’t understand the little things, mate we have posters on here who absolutely don’t understand anything about the game since it moved on from kicking from contest to contest
  20. Yep like for like, absolutely NFI, however many years you’ve been watching footy, please put it on your tombstone “Here lies PF who spent ??? Years of his life watching footy and wasted every minute of it”
  21. You know his response is going to be tackle stats, if it’s not in the stats you need to know what you’re looking at
  22. Why would you even contemplate trying to reason with a clueless (in the terms of footy acumen) poster. His posts have become laughable with absolutely zero balance or credibility
  23. Watched him play for VIC Metro vs WA at Leederville Oval in his draft year and loved what I saw, as he moved up to the pointy end towards the draft I was sure the Saints, would take him, so glad we got and still have him. Congratulations Trac
  24. He’s been at every game I have attended in the last 25 to 3 years in Melbourne or Perth
  25. Is Ryan the blonde guy who’s always front and centre of the cheer squad
