  1. It requires a lot of work Red and players having the confidence to hit the kick and teammates as soon as they identify they are open. Doubt and hesitation causes 50/50 contests and turnovers. Once teams get speed on the ball and the method is ingrained into the players the system works well and the team suddenly looks to have pace. Just want us to stick with the method and have faith as With Mcvee, Kossie and Windsor thrown into the mix I believe we can be very dangerous on the counter and with our ball movement to get 1 v1s inside our F50
  2. You must be new here, if you can find a positive post from Poita, you will be lucky
  3. JVR - Taylor no influence
  4. Donโ€™t think so, has kids settled in school in Perth, his son will be in Yr 12 next year
  5. It doesnโ€™t work that way anymore otherwise you isolate the poor match ups via leg speed or height/weight. Its why they defend to impact the next layer not just their direct opponent. Dont think this doesnโ€™t happen several times during a game. Its just amplified in the last few minutes
  6. Yep maybe in hindsight but in modern footy, they set up in layers and I guess Clarry pushes up to lock it in but it doesnโ€™t happen. All in all though good performance and itโ€™s these small margins that make such a difference
  7. There was still never an opportunity to punch the footy at any stage, Sparrow is covering off the kick over the top of one of our players (possibly Fritsch) on the 50m arc members side wing, which is where the kicker heads, heโ€™s also within striking distance of Kelly if the kicker tryโ€™s to hit Kelly with a clean kick he can press up and stand the mark to force Kelly to step back and allow players to move up into position which we did well for most of the day., if you rewatch the game you will see this continuously. We have actually covered off quite well but the scrubbed kick came off and Sparrow is boundary side. Henderson may have been better served to give away a professional free and take Callaghanโ€™s legs out but it is what it is
  8. At what point in the play from the kick out did the opportunity arise for anyone to spoil let alone punch it over the fence. At least watch the vision before commenting
  9. 6. Gawn 5. Lever 4.Trac 3. Bowey 2. Lindsay 1. Tmac Honourable mention to Sparrow, Windsor and Marsh
  10. We got close to breaking the game open a couple of times and they did what good sides do, just hung in with opportunistic goals, to remain within striking distance. Do agree playing last week helped them a little
  11. Asking a serious question, did it go as they planned. I think once the scrubbed the first kick, which ended up with Kelly we pressed up a little once it didnโ€™t hit him on the chest. We committed numbers into the corridor and canโ€™t recall exactly who it was got a handball to the outside
  12. We tried, Lever went inboard to Salem, but the ump called not 15, probably consistent with how they are umpiring this year
  13. Iโ€™m not going to derail a game day thread. The rule is plain for all if you elect to bump and hit the head you will be suspended. Whether I agree with the length of the suspension or not, is irrelevant. He was always missing today minimum with that bump and he likely So weโ€™ll agree to disagree cost us 4 points
  14. Did he elect to bump yes - thatโ€™s actually the end of it Did he hit him high - yes Donโ€™t bump and expect sympathy when you hit them high and had the option of going low at the footy
  15. Iโ€™ll counter that with our goals from forward pressure do not occur if Fritsch is there. GWS got a goal from rebound today when Fritsch is running at a lose ball, granted he is further away than his opponent but they get there the same time. Fritsch takes neither ball or body in the contest, which is a non negotiable. He put out a token arm but itโ€™s not enough and itโ€™s those small things that hurt
  16. No, the bump was a dumb act and he needs to own it. There was zero need for it at the time and the start of our season was impacted by it
  17. 2 through injuries and 1 through a dumb act on ground and not for the first time. He needs to own that because he would have been a point of difference today
  18. That was a good effort, disciplined the way we set up players in sync preventing there run for most of the day. Could have gone either way but plenty of positives other then 4 points lost taken from today. Some should look for positives because plenty of the usual suspects nothing but negativity on the game day thread FFS Oh Bowey only 2 tackles - he was very good all day Rooey running under the footy- Sam Taylor had zero impact and was unable to create rebound because of this. On to next week
  19. Apologies thought you were having a go at him. He is very much holding Taylor to account every time the ball comes in high
  20. I seen a player wearing #2 do that many times during my childhood in the 80โ€™s. If Windsor is half as good, wow
  21. Have you noticed the best defender in the AFL, thereโ€™s a reason
  22. That and along with the slower ball movement is being done to limit their slingshot from interceptions
  23. Are you expecting deelanders to look at the positives.
  24. Concerned about being top heavy, however assume we will run with a mid fwd rotation along with Henderson inside our F50 and someone is getting a defensive forward role on Taylor. To win this we need to Win the midfield battle Break even at least in the ground ball game inside our F50 Limit their defensive run and rebound Lets go Dees
  25. He trained and did match sim since Freo game moving freely I believe.
