  1. I think it's two fold, he is so fit now and running out games better so fatigue is not an issue, whilst experience has made him realise his limitations and 20-30m passes max is his bets option. Comes from a fairly decent production line up at Sorrento-Duncraig Guy Mckenna, Todd Ridley, Matt Priddis, Adam Cockie, Daniel Rich & Jack Darling. Along with numerous WAFL Premiership players for Subiaco Chris De Luca a prospect for this years draft and Greg CLARK who will has played the last 2 U/18 Carnivals as an underage player and will go at least in the second round in next years draft.
  2. And Meth Coast were not belted this year they were beaten because there midfield for 75%of the season was outmuscled and Priddis stood up and in similar fashion to Jones carried them for the season, he will win their B & F and Mckenzie will be second because he was rarely beaten and has taken over from Glass in controlling the entire defence. I've said it many times they are front runners and beat who they should beat and they do it well and steamroll other sides, when they are challenged they go missing except for those two mentioned above, who stand tall against any opponent. Hate the club but admire those two as players
  3. His prediction rate is very low, and he loves creating turmoil at the Dogs claims to love the club but holds some grudges towards Smorgon and other board members and Mcarthy. He still loves to claim Roos did the dirty on Brissy after promising them he would take the job and doing a backflip leaving Vossy out of a job. Hardie will never say he is wrong someone has always done a backflip, or changed their mind.
  4. FFS P-Man don't start him off again I don't want another night ruined with his carp
  5. Brad Hardie was on Perth radio last night discussing players moving at the end of the season and he was fairly adamant that Boyd and Malceski will be at the Dees next year. Can't see how we'd get both Malceski through PSD but Boyd without diluting FA for Frawley. I've also heard a few rumours that some of the Doggies players are not to keen with Macarthy, very good for developing younger players but struggles after that with the next step
  6. In the case of just saying this guy should be in and this guy should be out, I back up my argument with the following and not just for JONES JONES should be in over ELLIS/WARD or LIBBA HANLEY should be in over Nick SMITH and debatable but I’d have him in over GIBBS RANCE/LONEGRAN/TAYLOR/SMITH WTF make a tough decision you need 3 tall defenders you have HOOKER, TALIA & McKENZIE clearly as the best 3 pick 1 more and put them in the squad you don’t need them all in Same with the forwards FRANKLIN/RIEWODLT/ROUGHEAD then you go for medium to small forwards GUNSTAN deserves spot in the squad but the final team IMO would have GRAY, BRUEST & BALLANTYNE ahead of him so no need for Jay SCHULZ Ben MCGLYNN has had an outstanding season and should be added in ahead of Jay SCHULZ and probably Boomer HARVEY again IMO MCGLYNN goes in and they choose 1 from HARVEY and BETTS And if they want to run with the idea of naming the players in certain positions why do they only go for 1 recognised ruckman, JACOBS IMO is the AA and ROUGHIE plays as the pinchitting Ruck/Forward but RYDER has earnt the spot in the 40
  7. I read from start to finish the problem with you Stuie is when you get put on the spot you throw something else into the argument, you use stats when it suits you (and not just on this thread) it's pretty clear to me and most Demonlanders you just keep going on and on until people have better things to do, which I have now so Slan abhaile
  8. Keep digging that hole deeper Stuie
  9. Twisting! FMD how about throwing Dangerfield and Greene into a discussion about whether Jones deserves a spot in the AA squad over Ellis and for the record this is the 2014 AA Squad and IMO he has Dangerfield covered for 2014
  10. I hate GWS and if Saints really want Mccartin then I would not be giving GWS Pick 2 so they can get hold of Petracca, I'd be trading Pick 3 just to put someone else in front of them who may be eyeing off Wright or Brayshaw. If GWS want Petracca so badly then I want one of their absolute guns in return that being Treloar or Shiel. About time we started becoming as difficult as some of the other clubs
  11. I have watched all but 3 AFL games this year and as I said in my earlier post JONES should be in the 40 man Squad, I did not have him making my final AA team but I certainly have him in the squad of 40. He is ahead of ELLIS, WARD and LIBBA. Some have said he hasn't been in the best players all season, don't let the last 9 weeks of our season as a side overall cloud your judgement he was regularly throughout the season talked about and I suggest you go through the round by round coaches and media votes. He has lead from the front and it is not his fault he is in the side he currently is, if anything it is testament to his efforts and the way he has carried the side is certainly enough to gain him the recognition for squad selection. I certainly don't judge him with rose coloured glasses and have marked him harshly in Demonland votes due to the high standards he sets. for the record my AA team is B: SMITH McKENZIE HOOKER HB: MALCESKI TALIA SWALLOW C: HEPPELL ROCKLIFF BOAK HF: GREY RIEWOLDT FYFE F: BALLANTYNE FRANKLIN BRUEST R: JACOBS, SELWOOD, KENNEDY I/C: LEWIS, ROUGHEAD, PARKER, PRIDDIS So whilst JONES misses out so do guns who have had good years in ABLETT(Injury), PENDLEBURY, BEAMS & RYDER due to Roughie being used as a pinch hitter
  12. Cheers to both for their efforts and I wish them all the best in the future
  13. I would have him in before Libba, Ward and Ellis and I don't care about their stats because pretty sure Jones stats will be right up there with them. Jones has nowhere near the midfield support these guys have had and usually gets best opposition opponent or if Roos decided to make him go head to head against opposition best. I agree he was pushing to make the final 22 but not making the 40 is a joke.
  14. Equalisation is about letting us survive not moving forward, the AFL foolishly believe this will keep us happy hence our fixturing doesn't give us annual home fixtures against a fair few of the big drawing clubs
  15. In similar fashion to Demonland POY my votes 6.Jetta - always liked him and proven the doubters wrong and please don't refer to him as a dud because he never was that 5. Tyson - can't wait to see this kid when he has played between 50-70odd games 4.Dunn - not going to get an AA gig but has had a very good season and may get into the 40 man squad at least 3.Nate Jones - will go close to AA but will miss out due to the other midfield rivals, has taken the captaincy by the horns and proven an inspiration 2.Vince given our 3rd world midfield a lift and had a solid year 1.Pedersen - from scrapheap to a vital part of our side when we were up and running in between rounds 4-14 Honourable Mentions Cross, PJ & The FD mainly those responsible for our trading and picks last year
  16. Ziebell in Bastinac's place and it's a deal
  17. 6.Tyson - he has only just begun, going to be a very very good player when he hits the 50-70 game range 5.TMac - good game and good to see him kick 2 goals, I have a lot of faith in this kid 4.Vince - been a good pick up and continued his good form tonight 3.Kent - showed what he is capable of, if he can develop a tank look out 2.Cross - I love him and the way he goes about it, can play another 2 years he is that professional in his approach 1.Watts - again some bad point with keeping his feet and one on ones but used it well and took the game on a bit Michie and Nate Jones are unlucky to miss out on votes
  18. Pizza Bella Roma, Villa Roma or The Capri?
  19. Seriously stop feeling sorry for yourself and harden up
  20. and teh game hasn't changed much since then has it
  21. Pity the ba5tard didn't injure it before that last minute equaliser at Goodison last Saturday though Saty
  22. I've used mine many times Bobby and sad to say it's never an issue with us you will always find space near your fellow Dees in the cheer squad. Even Queens birthday look forward to the days when we are struggling to get into the G with the size of the crowd
  23. Still my greatest moment as a Dees fan, Happy Times they were. Would love for that feeling again
  24. Old Dee I always say to people I have an agreement with the big man upstairs that I don't go back till I see the Dees win a flag I reckon I have a long life ahead of me
  25. There was a scout from the club at the East perth colts game who had a detailed chat with their coach after the game, so I'd say Keital is on the radar Lim is a good kid not a bad size and has what I would call decent pace but not exceptional, although may have the ability to build a tank. Problem with Lim, Bradley Walsh, Hardisty and a lot of other WA boys are very vanilla and will be good solid players but lack that x-factor. And Spirit of Norm Smith in regard to Pickett I think he is a big risk with a first round pick. His highlight reel is going to be very impressive, but I have watched him a bit and he goes missing for long periods during games, very good when he is on the move but can be caught flat footed a lot and certainly lacks hardness which for me is a concern at the next level
