I thought one of the other reasons was to clear up the congestion at stoppages through having more 'tired' players on the field (only 3 interchanging). Not sure if this had the desired effect but I do like the idea of a fresh pair of legs coming on in the last quarter and giving the spark needed to turn a game like Petterd did against the Swans in Rd 1. I consider it to have more pro's than cons.

Absolutely. If we do in fact get any better this year and the years following, these picks will only decrease in value, relative to draft order/finishing position. If the mature age players drafted this year can give the grunt we badly need, both picks should be used on gun youngsters. Failing that, trade one pick off in search of a quality mature age player.

But unlike the other ex-Demon (that hurt), I will enjoy watching James get some of the footy.

I believe Magner would be challenging all records in that regard. In general, the team appears to be in great shape.

He managed to kick the filth in to the Granny last year with a very good goal in the dying moments against the Hawks. That's some worth I would've thought.

As MFC supporters we are used to these names and therefore we are rather biased in this assessment. I could almost guarantee that there's just as many Tigers, Bombers and Roo's supporters out there saying the same thing about their crop of youngsters. Our hopes now rest with a new coaching group, a new game plan and culture of winning at any cost. F@&$ I can't wait for Round 1.

Jim may well have not done all of the things you've listed above, in fact it's almost ludicrous to suggest that he would even be responsible for facilitating those outcomes. I feel that the point you're missing is that it has been Jim that's been the key ingredient. It sounds like you're suggesting that any candidate could have pulled this off. To bang on about what he has not done, is plain poor form and an effort to stand apart from the general supporter consensus. I hope you re-consider your opinion.

I don't think funny is the word. I reckon there's more pleasure in watching Chippa mark and rebound off the backline, have a few bounces and slot one from 50m+ on the odd occasion.

Why? Members with less than 11 game memberships might just take umbrage to these comments. Some supporters simply can't afford it whilst others, mainly interstaters can't extract maximum value from higher membership without spending thousands of dollars extra to fly over for games.. Segregating membership tallies would be a pointless exercise that would lead to polarisation. We all support the same team so why should we be classed as different?

The only boss the players need to answer to is the Coach. Neeld is the boss and I'm pretty certain that he's going to remind the playing group of that fact very regularly.
