Because he was picked up in the '08 draft it feels like he's been around for a while, long enough for him to be imposing himself on games. Fact is that he's only 20 yrs of age and played 40 games. Sure, other high draft picks have had some good games and shown glimpses of their huge potential. Jack has done this as well. His stats against Nik Nat for last year are superior in every way apart from ruck which is irrelevant. Hurley IMO has been equally as frustrating. Jack will deliver this year.

Our midfield will win plenty of the pill this year but I fear it will be used poorly as the team gets used to the new game plan. The hardness shown last weekend suggests stoppages will be a major area of improvement. Can our outside mids deliver it to the forward half and hit targets regularly? I'm not so sure.

The NAB games will return to normal format for this round so there will be 4 quarters for Jack to surprise us all. I wish him and rest of the team the best in belting those black and white $%#@!. Even if it is only a NAB game.

The Coach is delivering the reality check to players you allude to. Magner will show a desperation and hardness at the contest we have lacked so badly in years gone by. His use of the ball will be important obviously, but I think his attack will be the most valuable trait the younger (and older) brigade can gain confidence and learn from. It will mean that there has been no improvement, rather regression since last season. I can't believe that every other team has the scope to improve as much as the Demons. Aside from listeneing to Melbourne radio (being Perth based) I read all available media about the club and peruse with adequate enough interest that of other clubs. I consider the changes at MFC in comparison to other clubs much more significant and I have faith that they will deliver results a lot faster than many think.

I managed 5 wins. Lions Tigers Dogs Saints Blues The fifth win was a toss-up between the Blues and Bombers but I figured that after losses to the Cats, Hawks and Swans, Neeld will be rabid and the boys will be keen to win at all costs. After the high of beating the Blues, we will trip-up against the Bombers the following week. Queens birthday will be a close one.

You don't want to give him another couple of games before judging? Agree to an extent, but I'm prepared to give him a decent opportunity in the standard format.

I thought Jones did natural things tonight. I lost count of how many times he slammed it on his boot without looking for options. Looked like poor comms out there tonight. Too many bad decisions regardless of conditions.
