Should we expect this suggestion again tomorrow?

Watching the Giants execution last night reminded me of ourselves when the pressure is on. Just can't handle it.

Even if the Eagles knew they were going to lose him next year to FA, I doubt very much they'd let him go this trade period - particularly as they've made and will continue pushing to play finals. As one of the better players on their list, they need him to have a better chance of September action next year as well. I'm not confident anything will happen this year.

Charlie Sheen - the actor with an apt first name.

I think the bloke's a seagull but one by necessity more than anything. He's a running machine and would be wasted fighting for the hard ball. He'd clearly be a valuable acquisition to our team.
-
As lame as this might sound, I reckon if it wasn't for Goodwin finally addressing our failure to make it into the finals, I would not be giving too much of a stuff about these games. He added some closure to my frustration, enough to allow me to lift my spirits and be interested in watching a finals series that does not contain the MFC. I'm not going to do a Taylor Adams and say "we deserved to play finals" because we clearly didn't. So it starts tonight in Adelaide with what should be a win to the Crows. I'm still holed up in Orange in central NSW so given that the Giants are playing it'll be televised on regional TV. I'd be skeptical of watching any footy out here if there wasn't a Sydney team playing tonight. Anyway, I'm hoping the Crows get up tonight because I just do not ever want to see the Giants win a flag. In other games: Tigers (yeah I hate them but Cats have had too much success of recent times) Swans for obvious reasons. Power.

He frustrates the hell out of me but we have a real dearth of quality ball users on the list. It's between the ears for Watts. Whatever happened to him mentally during his hammy injury this year essentially spelt the end of his season. I think during the time that Roos, Goodwin and McCartney have been on board, we have seen a harder, more desperate Jack at times - albeit infrequent. I'm loathe to say give Jack himself another chance but I would like to see the coaches give him another year of development (if that makes sense).

When I did it gave me a hernia.

It was good to hear from the coach. As usual it was a measured approach but one that he obviously needed the time to analyse and put into words. I just hope like hell that this years lesson acts as an incredible catalyst for the whole FD and players. We need to move past the 'lost opportunity' phase and form the mindset of being a ruthless juggernaut for next season.

^ Well said, rjay.

I didn't help my cause by acting like a total fl og at subiaco when Tmac kicked the sealer when we played the Eagles. Basically everything I've copped this week has been a near perfect replica of what I dished out.
-
I don't enjoy being the butt of jokes. Living in WA, I've absolutely copped it the whole week following the Eagles getting up. At work, at footy training, via bookface, text messages etc. This 'Finals' fiasco has just rubbed extra salt into the wound. I can't see the club as anything other than amateur right now.

I thought it was pretty clear. The news even got to Perth! Maybe fans not onboard just yet?
-
Where's the crowd? Was watching 360 last night and they were talking up numbers of 22k+. Have they hired GWS's fans?

Unsure if this has been posted elsewhere.

What exactly have the Archers of Glen done?

Lachie Whitfield, Jake Lever, and other trade rumours
McQueen replied to Xavierrodway's topic in Melbourne Demons
Which essentially means little anyway. The trade negotiations bear the same weight either way in reality. -

Too right. There's clubs in the league with multiple A graders on their lists that have been playing finals for quite some time. All this talk about us not spending some cash on elite talent like Kelly or Lever for the risk of losing our current youngsters in the future is BS. Our young blokes are professional footballers. They realise the deficiencies in our list better than we as supporters do, they know what the team needs. If they want the ultimate success of a flag or three in their careers they will negotiate a commensurable contract that allows the club to trade in A grade jets to enable that success. The top clubs who appear to have very little to offer manage to find something and turn it into a trade to get exceptional players on their list. Geelong with Dangerfield, Zach Touhy, Scott Selwood, Rhys Stanley, Zach Smith. Hawthorn with Mitchell and Omeara and whatever. My point is it can be done. I expect us to do the same this year because we have more to offer and being middle of the road either means you're heading up or down. We can't afford to go back to the draft for more potential talent. We need to nut up and get the players that will plug those gaps and help win us flags. Sell the farm now and get Lever and Kelly ffs. Window is open. -

Wouldn't be a bad couple of years for the Hawks, would it. Mitchell Omeara Whitfield fmd -
He was on 720 radio here in Perf yesterday. Interview starts at 1h 11m, finishes at 1h 25m of the program. First time I have heard him talk about the circumstance at Fitzroy and how he drew on that (parallel) to empathise with the Melbourne players when he first arrived. Talks about his 25 points, their purpose in helping to remind him of what it was like to be a player during his time coaching. Regurgitates a lot of his usual rhetoric. Talks about communication as the key take out from his career. If you're gonna be a great leader you need to be open and communicate well (Neeld era fail obviously). Worth a listen. There's a heap of Sudanese kids running around in the juniors in WA - assume other states would be seeing quite a few as well. Majak, Allir, Chol are great athletes but still NQR. I think it's only a matter of time before one comes into the game a sets it alight. I'd be interested in Allir, he's had some finals experience and knows how the games played.
