  1. It's a good deal given the quality of the player, the dearth of forward talent on offer and we never entered into the nonsense Petty linked trade talk. Effectively we've exchanged Grundy for Fullarton & McAdam as mentioned on trade radio.
  2. Only if we clean up delivery though. The way we bring it in has been diabolical for large chunks over the past two seasons. All of McAdam's existing strengths might not see as much light of day if we don't and then many on here will be bemoaning the trade 😄
  3. Based on 2023 averages he would be our second highest tackler inside 50 (1.4) behind Kozzy and above AFL averages. His general tackling was above AFL averages also @ 3.3 His pressure rating is at AFL average No slouch in this aspect. He'll be fine and if anything will actually up our forward pressure.
  4. It gives us more flexibility to do so for sure. Whether Goodwin is willing or wanting is another matter. Flexibility now for both Kozzy to play more regular mid minutes and Tracc for more stints up forward. We need to land at least one decent mid in the draft also. Based on our current hand, hopefully an outside(ish) Sanders type. Caddy would also be nice if he slipped through to 11 (unlikely).
  5. Very solid win for the girls. Obviously Bannan the stand out up forward. Quite a game. Didn't she originally start out as a defender? Thought Campbell did some nice work after the first quarter covering for Pearce. The two Mackins look great. How was the kick from Blaithin off one step into the top of the square after the handball from her sister at one one point. Playing very well as a tight unit. Haven't seen Brissy or North yet but Adelaide seem like they're the team to beat after last week's impressive performance. Although we didn't have Paxy who may have flipped the result had she played. Paxy back this week for North? Harris out with more hamstring issues or is she good to go?
  6. Amen to that. The term "Natural Forward" is the key here. Some players just get the whole forward craft and finishing side without over thinking it while others take an age or, try as they might, never get there. Then there's the will to impose defensively as well. I would throw BB into the mix as a genuine tall 'natural' forward that does 'get' his role and can get a return (roughly 2 goals a match) . Problem is does he get back to anywhere near his best in 2024 or get back at all (and stay there)? Melksham won't return till late in proceedings. At this point we go into 24 with Fritta, assuming his foot holds up pre-season. And probably McAdam given that Adelaide, even with half a brain, will have to bend at some point and deal. Assuming the deal goes through the good news on McAdam, based on 2023 form... 👉🏼 Not dissimilar to Fritta from a goal return sense averaging 1.7 (Fritta 2.2) 👉🏼 Takes roughly the same number of marks inside 50 as Fritsch. But likes to mark more on the lead (1.6), about twice the rate of Fritta (0.8), so our challange will be connecting to capitalise here. 👉🏼 Goal accuracy was 67% (Fritta 53%). 👉🏼 In general field play his kicking was elite at 71% (Fritta 56%). 👉🏼 Is above AFL average in general tackles (3.3) as well as tackles inside 50 (1.4). Kozzy being our best here in 23, averaging 1.9 The next best Melksham with 1.3! McAdam's pressure acts also at AFL standard. In form and super fit, most likely a very handy player and hopefully in number of matches, much more than that!
  7. Always hard to say how some draftees will cope with the step up. Outside of Reid, who looks to be pretty good to go, i really do like the looks of Sanders and/or Caddy. Sanders filling our needs a little more in terms of being a classy (somewhat outside biased) mid who can also hit the scoreboard and kicks are relatively good coming inside 50 as well. Caddy will be a ripper though as well imho.
  8. Another DL fan it seems. Some astute draft watcher already made this point here.
  9. Reckon Caddy will be fine. Moir should also make it and would be a great non risk with a low pick
  10. But that's the point which you've missed completely RP. You don't want to give any potential future VG players or stars that might be on the fence (and their managers), any 'facility' reasons not to pick us over the oppo (be it MFC, Detroit Lions, Lutton Town etc). I am well aware of the time factor. It's been 38 years of waiting as we watch club after club pass us by.
  11. It's still a fair way off the benchmark levels being set by many competirors across the land Especially the bigger clubs in Vic and even the Doggiy's facilities. For 'some' players in the trade / draft window, the differences could be the tipping point between choosing us as their preferred option (especially vs others also in a Premiership window). As George pointed out, the line between making and PF or GF can be a matter of just two goals or less! Missing one VG to top line player (or more!) as a result of not being 'at the level' could end up being the difference between getting there or not.
  12. Never count your McAdams before they've hatched! Saturday good!
  13. Or 6, 11, F1 and a player for 1 & Darling (we pick up part of his contract a la Grundy but ultra minimum chips)?
  14. Come on PA, give the man some hope. I beg ya!
  15. Account hacked by Werridee?
  16. The Darlings of course. Where've you been Willmoy
  17. Don't understand why these threads are even started. Was always going to re-sign as a one club player.
  18. Makes alot of sense. Not like they're in any sort of window. Imagine putting all your eggs into Reid given WC's present list state and he leaves after 2 seasons.
  19. What makes you think they wouldn't trade a F1 to get 1 from WC? North could also trade one or more of these to snare another higher pick now yes?
  20. No. WC need the multiple top end picks that North have in spades. Their cupboard's pretty much bare and they need to start getting back on the winners list to at least look credible to their supporter base and from a broadcasting viability sense. The North trade was always on for them. 1 (potential) gun player just won't cut it and multiples lower down allows them to grab Curtin.
  21. JVR by the time that happens....
  22. Exactly what is he hitting in 1-2 years RP?
  23. Petty was never going nor was he ever going to be part of this trade period full stop DS. How is a concocted cockamame trade dreamt up at West Lakes Chardonay cellars on us? Let alone going to have some detrimental effect / outcome on HP?
  24. They also want to cover off for a life without Tex. The two (us wanting McAdam & them Petty) are unrelated. Petty was never up as a required Premiership player with 2 years to run, yet they've then tried to link Petty in as part of the deal. They've then stormed out of the room in an attempt to make out that we're the ones not playing ball. Lmao! Talk about childish.
