Bowsa might’ve been the wromg option on a wet night. Plays the short game too often which is not what's needed in the wet. And the decision to kick to the smallest guy in the forward line coming in under little pressure. Probably needed a run at Casey first and kept playing Woey on a dewey night who plays a longer game. Chin trying hard but doesn't impact often enough when he gets his opportunities for mine. And aside from a few moments in this quarter his F50 pressure in general hasn't been at the level you'd expect from a small pressure forward.

- 16 contested Yes, why did we take Tracc off. Just a complete brain fade of where the game was at and instead going with pre programmed rotations like robots. Same with Max in the first. Left off at the wrong time of the match for too long. Petty down back on DeKoning to free up Lever as the spare. Leave Tracc up forward. Kozzy into the middle.

Woeful through the middle. Smashed in all clearance battles including around ground stoppages. And why would you rest Max for so long and allow the oppo to dominate further after giving up the first three goals early. Terrible coaching decision Can't play in wet / greasy conditions. In wet weather you need to move the +1 in defence into the middle or even add an extra winger in as well to even or outnumber around stoppage and start winning the contested battles. Leave it as is and it'll be the Blues how far.

AFL Mid-Season Draft 2024
Agreed. Targeting a mid has to be high on the agenda to cover or provide depth for the three amigos surely. It's a very long season and we could potentially be exposed here at any time but especially as we get deep into the second half.

AFL Mid-Season Draft 2024
Haven't seen enough of him to commit but his second half against Casey on Sunday was very good.

Thanks for the effort to get there again WC. Entertaining stuff and a great read, even the DL hoopla 😄 Kudos on the Bowey scoop. Hoping to make the next one. If you're going feel free to PM me with any coffee preferences beforehand!- TRAINING: Wednesday 8th May 2024

So you're saying he was in fine form Chook... very generous of you- AFL Mid-Season Draft 2024
Roy George 179cm 87kg (Bunbury Bulldogs JFC) Is he a chance of being picked up in the MSD? Or is he more likely to be looked at in the PSD later on? Would be very interested to hear from the likes of Dazzle, George, Norm and others. Bit of a nomad it seems, initially starting with Peel in 2021. Spent some time with Bacchus Marsh in the BFNL in 2023. Some more detail on how he arrived from the Cobras to Casey? Only one match but certainly looked likely against the Seagulls on Sunday. We are very much in need of a serious mid fielder but could he add something in this area, along with a HF role of course, with a full pre-season? Some of his highlights from his time in the WAFL below...- 2024 Free Kick Differential
The Tiges are constantly on the bottom. What's with that? Three premierships in four years was enough for HQ?- PREGAME: Rd 09 vs Carlton

Thanks gents that, was a great listen. Great to hear some thoughts from the other side! T-Mac's a very humble straight shooter. Love his insight into recovery and where Petty was coming from with his recovery. Young Leb is a beauty also. Two contrasting views from the respective ends of the career journey. The Neitz academy sounds like it's really gelling with the young rookies. Kudos to Choco (again!).- CASEY: Rd 06 vs Williamstown
Aside from his tank, maybe the defensive side and learning whatever role he's being asked to play ie; within the team structure ... Roy looks to be a ready made AFL player. He just needs the finishing touches. That might require some time spent training with the main group / Casey group during the week for a good block though. Most likely a pre-season as well to get that all in place and the tank going. At the very least a structured mini pre after the MSD. I'd ve very surprised if he isn't flagged on Taylor & Lamb's whiteboard for the MSD already. If not he should be. My understanding is Kolt played mostly a HF role during his time at Subiaco & the national carnival, only pinch hitting through the middle. Now being asked to play a mostly mid role at Casey. Might take a while Picket, with a few ugly games in between. That's if he gets that role. He might be more suited to the former and best left to continue homing in on that? My gut feel is he is having to play a mostly mid role at the moment as Casey is so low on mid field stocks. Could be wrong though.- CASEY: Rd 06 vs Williamstown
Only one game to go by but Roy looks to have some serious X factor and should be under serious consideration for us in the MSD. Thought ex-Tiger, Collier-Dawson was pretty impressive for Willly.- CASEY: Rd 06 vs Williamstown
I felt Verral was soundly beaten for much of the day by the more experienced Downie. Won a few contests but his body positioning and ruck craft at times seemed pretty ordinary. At ground level he faired not much better imv and reaction time pretty slow, even for VFL level. If he gains possession on the ground he often just panic dump kicks straight ahead or is so slow to get ball to boot or hand his disposals are often smothered or disrupted. Some of the dump kicks he attempted yesterday had no height on them either and occasionally ended up ricocheting straight back off a player in front. Has zero athletism but that hasn't stopped others like Darcy from making it. He might make the grade at some point and patience needed but yesterday wasn't a good outing for the big fella imho.- CASEY: Rd 06 vs Williamstown
Pretty impressive game from Moniz after the first quarter. He's always been handy at ground level. Even in the air, he competes well against taller opponents. Recovers quickly and pressures / tackles well. Provides a solid option on the rebound and chains well. Where he lets himself down is his clangers by foot though. Particularly through the middle. Some of them are horror jobs under not alot of pressure and at AFL level the oppo will generally punish on the scoreboard if you turnover in that part of the ground. He's doing alot right but i reckon the FD would want to see him clean that side up first. Too risky otherwise. He is also being played as a small rebound defender so who is he replacing? We have Bowey about to come back. Surely he gets the nod and is well ahead of Moniz preference wise given his prior cred? Personally if Hunter is playing at Casey i'd rather see him play the Moniz role at times. Give Moniz some reasonable minutes at CBs and stoppages and see how he goes. Pushing forward sometimes as well. Wasted down back and unlikely to get a call up while playing this role at Casey. Moniz is also a pretty good crumber / goal sneak. At least when played up forward anyway. Looks like the FD has other plans though.- Jason Taylor getting some well deserved kudos
I don't like his chances SW but i applaud your optimism. Averaging 1 hit out to advantage per match during his career so far. Albeit on limited minutes but he does play up to roughly 20% time at CBs in some matches. He's ok as a neutralizer chop out but surely not tall enough @193cm to be anything but that?- VOTES: Rd 08 vs Geelong
