  1. Reckon our disposal skills by foot (ability to lower eyes and hit targets) and decision making in transistion from HB in general today was pretty ordinary about half the time. At other times it wasn't too bad. Need to clean up this aspect if we're to get anywhere near 10 wins this year as many scribes seem to think we should get (roughly) with this list. Our circle handball work away and out of congestion is better though IMO. Probably over doing it at times but a big improvement on last year so far from what i've seen. Clean up the first part and we should get 10+ wins. If we don't we'll be looking at 7/8 again me thinks. I like Martin's idea of trialling T Mac up forward during the NAB cup as he's just too panicky down back and disposal/decision making hmmm. Too late now though. Could try for the last match i guess.
  2. Hopefully it's just us that are bracing ourselves and they aren't bracing a certain someone's knee even further right now The delay has me pretty worried
  3. Sorry forget that last post djr. Completely false Go to AFL website click on > Fixtures & Results > NAB Challenge > 2016 Season and it is on the right hand side. Only the last 3 quarters though and probably wont last long so you better get on it
  4. As far as i know it's still being offered djr but only for the season proper, not the NAB which is exclusive to Foxtel
  5. Has had a crack and disposal when he's had it pretty solid. Hasn't seen much of it though
  6. Overall panicky and slow Was it that or the "tad too wide" kick from Pedo?
  7. Maybe not to you guys but as WYL has alluded to in his usual subtle style.... it is CRITICAL for this club given it's last decade in the wilderness Vote 1 SYWL for MFC's next President! (P.J. ur still No.1 until then bro!)
  8. Right on Time The AFL are very happy to have the top clubs continuing to roll along and grow ever stronger. I would hate to be on the bottom 6 clubs in this competition right now....oh wait The MFC has dug its own grave over many decades, but the other 5 will also continue to dead cat bounce off and along the bottom for more decades to come under this set up with the gulf between the bottom 6, middle 6 and top 6 about to grow even wider than it already is. The AFL has effectively cemented the class based competition of the haves and the have nots that it helped set up over the decades prior to this, hammering in the final nail with its version of Free Agency.
  9. Def not a Norf fan but it was clear to me (and Ingrid) what was going to take place in the 2nd & 3rd quarters last night once Norf got the jump and were allover the Coke. There is no doubt the umpires influence the outcomes of some of these matches in order to provide one team an advantage over another in terms of making sure they stay in a game and gain a decent buffer, preferably by half time but in the case of a terribly out of form WC who were so horrid they still couldn't take advantage of some of the most blatant umpiring bias I've ever seen, it needed one more quarter of this horribillis to get WC in front. Norf were all over the coaster in that first quarter and a half until the umps got involved, or didn't depending on if it was a blatant to Norf or not. In a normally umpired game of football that was a Norf win last night but unfortunately the pattern of umpiring bias when playing a 'preferred' AFL anointed team is so blatantly obvious there can only be a few reasons for it. One involves a brown paper bag... The other, undue or covert influence from upon high to assist in a certain 'preferred' AFL outcome. BOG for WC last nite was the impiring by a country mile! All for the finals! As long as you fit into the AFL's carefully orchestrated big picture. NFL rules!
  10. For anyone who still doesnt get the intrinsic inner "something" that defines leadership and someone who has the right stuff vs ones that are NQR, I'll give you 4 names for starters... Selwood Hodge Jones Fyfe Hoping we might be able to add the Hulk (and others) to our list at some point
  11. Thinking along same lines OD. Pretty sure if we were a power club with the coffers overflowing we would pay out Terlich & Jones in a flash
  12. Put your kicking boots on WWS and get a pre season in and you never know!
  13. While the AFL continues to manage and massage its own fixture to give its favoured teams a better chance at success and have in place a free agency system that allows a FA player to choose where he wishes to move to ie, from the lower ranked club ie, bottom 8 to go to a higher ranked team (say top 6 to 8) then expect to see the likes of Hawthorn, Sydney, Freo, West Coast & Geelong continuing to win premership after premiership. The MFC is an extraordinarily poor example of how to manage a club from 2007 to 2013 so shouldn't be used as a sample in any arguments like "hey this fixture/draft discussion does / doesn't apply to us look at how poorly we've recruited" etc. But even our horrible management/recruitment until then has been hamstrung with losses of very experienced players like Rivers and Chip to top 6 clubs that dont need any extra depth/ assistance. Same applies to the lower ranked clubs like the Doggies/Richmond/Saints. Can you imagine the difference a buddy would have made (if healthy) to a Doggies outfit last night!?? Difference between going deep into finals and not. I agree with Jnr, the competition really isnt close to fair and isnt worth watching anymore unless you're happy seeing the same core group of clubs in Prelims & GFs every year with fairly predictable results....boring. Might get an occasional surprise cameo from an interstater once in a wile as they have huge followings (or the Pies/Tiges here for similar reasons) but they will quickly drop back to mediocre as free agency sees the top clubs "top up" every year with players at their peak looking to finish their career with some silverware. Tuning over to more NFL and in particular the 49ers from here. And not just because of Jarryd...but he helps! (if he gets a gig!)
  14. Trouble is WYL for decades this club has often extended contracts on many of these types of players for just being, what would be considered by most top 8 or 10 clubs, a very good below average performer. Most other clubs would also have a number of these if you onioned your way through their lists over the years, the difference being that they probably would've been culled a lot earlier and the list of them wouldn't be as long as a fresh dunny roll like the one at the MFC
  15. Anyone who beat the No.1 ranked player, Pendles, twice in the one season had to go close. Well deserved Mr. Vince
  16. When we stop losing to them, even as wooden spooners, they probably won't have as much to say LD
  17. I very much doubt that. Why does Watts even get a mention in this thread. Amazing. This might inspire him, and others in the team, to reach greater heights.
