POSTGAME: Rd 24 vs Collingwood
He pulled out of the 7 interview. Could've put the naysayers, media nuffies and speculation to bed in 2 minutes and chose not to. You have to wonder why that doesn't happen. He's a grown maturing man and a leader of the team who is now back at the club and should be capable of speaking for a few minutes by now surely.

Absolutely this. 2025 is most likey more of the same trash if we think we "just need a big pre-season and get the boys fit & healthy". Without significant change to systems, game style, skills, pressure (4 quarter effort) and a big win at the draft / trade table... bottom 6 looms large. Too many very ordinary or worse footballers on this list right now. All line coaches and their systems need reviewing regardless of Stafford moving on FCS pls get a great forward coach in. We completely suck inside 50 bar Kozzy and an upcoming Turner who shows a bit. Same with method skills in transition and bringing ball into the 50. The mids & HBs have NFI. Putrid and just embarrassingly amature stuff across the board for three seasons now. Are we seriously gonna make it a fourth [censored] failure in a row here!!!!???????????

Laurie Extends for 2 More Years
Im not sure how he received an extension. Another mind boggling decision by Goody, Lamb and co.

Is there any chance Petty could win just one one v one contest? Simon's Petty obsession has been a complete and utter fail this year bar about 2.5 matches. Could've played Jeffo for two or three matches just see where he's at and give us a diff look inside 50. Plus maybe a few goals to spur him on to work harder towards 2025.

He is way too slow by foot and upstairs. There's just no weapons there at all that would suggest he'll be able to take the next step. He would need to gain a yard or two in pace and a massive improvement in agility and skills. While anything's possible it seems very unlikely at this point.

Playing this soft it's hard to disagree. Bruise free butchers with a failed system and method that doesn't hold up under anything that resembles AFL standard pressure. We cannot maintain possession for more than a few disposals in transistion and after three years have not learned or garnered the skills and craft that sees a switch of lanes or direction that allows us to hit more targets coming inside 50. We are STILL playing on like headless chooks, running and kicking in straight lines with no lowering of vision and constantly missing open options inside 50. Instead just bombing on ppls heads down the line which the oppo intercepts or spoils easily. I can't see how Goodwin survives beyond 2025 if he continues to dish up this rubbish.

Not everyone but yes, far too many just aren't at the level and it too easily ebbs away, even when we do look to be 'ON' , whenever the oppo ups their pressure We haven't handled pressure well at all for most of the year and nor are we capable of bringing AFL level pressure for more than a few quarters or so.
