  1. 52% career accuracy....just above Florent (who's getting a mention here) @ 50% and ahead of the specialist small forward Papley @ 47%. Papley averages 1.6 goals a game. Do we need another medium forward though? We have Fritta (1.7 goals a game @ 57% accuracy) & Smacca, who once he gets up to speed appears to be slightly more effective than Hayward... We seriously need more mid field class / depth and a KF for 25 and beyond, assuming Petty's not extending beyond next season and this is BB's last year. We might also need to replace Maysie if Adams doesn't come on this season. I'd be seriously considering Sam Collins for an interim stop gap. 30 yo when he comes out of contract in 25/26. Just my view but i'd like to see us putting effort / cap space $$ into these three areas.

  3. How many more inexplicable outcomes that seem to favour certain players and clubs (aka Greene, anything Collingwood, Maynard gets off and wins a flag, Cripps gets off & wins brownlow and the Blues in general vs others that aren't in favour in the eyes of the AFL at any particular time) do ppl need to witness before they come to the former conclusion. Noting the AFL's media unit described the Greene tackle as "tough", whereas others doing similar tackles (or even less dangerous ones who aren't on the AFL's protected list) are described as "dangerous". Most of the media, uncluding the AFL, described the Maynard wrecking ball incident as "an unfortunate football act" or that "he had no other choice" or "it was a split second decision he had no time to react" blah blah blah. Yet virtually no one in the generally AFL aligned media says anything to that effect re Kozzy's attempt to smother. The excuses are always variable and any counter arguments (at the tribunal, by HQ reps) trawled out very intentional but change like the wind in order to suit the AFL concocted narrative per their agenda and preferred outcomes depending on player, club or timing (finals, GF vs standard H&A).
  4. Kolt seems the most likely replacement for Kozz assuming Moniz is coming off some sort of setback. Expect Hunter to return via Casey this week. Smacca an outside chance as well.
  5. Nice work gents and ty for the excellent coverage. If i used Apple or Spotify i'd be hitting the like button (or whatever you do on those things). The only app i have for music / pods is Amazon but couldn't see anything Demonlandy on there. I reckon this pod's worthy of a current (or recent... Gus?) MFC player or FD member visit once in a while. I know Andy's done some great work on player interviews over the years. I'm thinking more of a regular contributor to the panel who could give us a little inside running (eg; once a month or similar) on his (or her AFLW) views of the last match, the oppo, training drills/loads, how the rookies are handling their first season, quirky aspects / habits of the coaching crew / players etc. Just a thought anyway.
  6. It might be a case of "don't believe everything you read" jnr!
  7. That's never going to happen unless all clubs stand up as one on matters of controversy and protest / act up against issues that they believe / feel the AFL need to change or fix IWS. And when has that ever happened? They all (eventually) just fall in to line with HQ. At the end of the day they all know where their bread is buttered. This is the way the AFL prefer things, in flux, so they can 'manage' particular outcomes in their preferred direction. Both on and off the field. Another great example in the last 24 hours, their refusal to consider a Captain's challenge (at all) that might avert controversial issues on field, such as the touched mark and resulting goal that cost Freo the match yesterday. Yet another example, the Maynard wrecking ball incident. Normally (even before recent changes and assuming it happened in a H&A game with no chance of said player missimg a GF) that would automatically be 3 to 4 weeks minimum, regardless of which player jumped off the ground and K.O.'D opposing defenceless player. He had an alternative, to push away with hands, and chose to curl up and lower his shoulder instead. The AFL was happy to NOT protest the 'nothing to see here / football act' outcome at the tribunal, which allowed a key player to continue through finals and eventually win a flag. I suspect this is also why they are dead against introducing any red card or sin bin style send off against a Maynard type incident. It takes the control / manipulation side out of the hands of the AFL system (read circus) and hands it over (somewhat) to the umpires or most likely an off field official.
  8. Would've thought Moniz as a close like for like but according to training reports it sounds like he's had some sort of setback. If so... 'Rags' might just get a call up
  9. Mods if you could alter my last post's header from round 3 to "to Round 4, 2024" if possible pls 🙏🏼 DZ i hear what you're saying but clarry would still be training / at club on a regular basis if he misses a week or even two (if needed). I'm sure he'll have a busy program to get through. It just won't involve any work that might impact the hand for a bit till it's back towards normal.
  10. Hope the umps think the same!
  11. I hate both however anything but the filth. Common Dawks do something! And if you can't win at least take out Mayturd
  12. Team & Player Ratings to Rnd 3, 2024 vs H&A Season 2023 Gonna go out on a bit of a limb here and say... getting Clarry right should possibly be our highest priority between now and post the bye! How we do that i don't know (very few ready made mids knocking on the door for a 'managed' situation) but the FD and Sports ppl will really need to make sure Clarry's hand gets to a fully recovered state over the next 4 to 6 IF we're to go deep into finals and possibly further. Does the FD consider resting Clarry for say Kolt or Sestan in order to get Clarry right for the post bye leg? 13. Round 4, 2024 Adelaide Oval - Crows vs Demons Amazing stuff from the boys playing away against the two Adelaide clubs in consecutive weeks off a 5 day break. Ripping start to the year from CP5 coming in with the No.1 rating for the third time in five matches! 26% higher than his 2023 rating. McVee hits the big time with the No.2 rating, blitzing his 2023 rating by a massive 78% and cracking the top five rated players for his first time in the red & blue. His highest result so far, knocking off his Rnd 3, 2023 rating vs the Swans of 3.425 Lets take a look at some of his outstanding work against the Crows... 19 effectives @ 95%, 1 contested mark, 2 one percenters, 6 rebounds, 1 inside 50, 4 score involvements, 10 intercepts (second most on the night behind Keane with 11), 416 meters gained and 4 turnovers. The incredible Iron Man "May" comes in at No3. which is quite astounding under the circumstances. To post a result 22% up on his 2023 average player rating is just ridiculous given the injury cloud. Maxy posting a VG rating given the 5 day turnaround and what he produced the week before. Sparrow another solid performance, 25% up on 2023! Notable performances from Chandler & T-Mac again. Fritta solid but his Rnd 3 performance vs the Hawks still the best for him so far with a 3.425 Viney still doing well also under a cloud. Clarry suffering the effects of a (soft?) tag and that hand injury it seems! Our bottom 6 players improving on their performance against the Power which might be an indication of some "learnings" on the road? 14. Finey calling out 'the Edge'. The only segment worth listening to via the SEN podcast or on the night. Peaky's a crack up & reminds me a little of uncle Doug from the old Wide World of Sports (basically a VFL footy show) from the 70s... You can throw the rest of SEN in the bland AFL 'lackeys' bin.. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/tDAFaZibYRrEJThV/?mibextid=xfxF2i
  15. Howdy DZ. All good thx for asking. Super late on this weeks as i had a wedding road trip to travel to in Bowral and back (from Melb). I was thinking about bringing the laptop to complete while i was here but the potential fallout with me lil stormcloud probably wouldn't have ended so well! Chowing down in the Beechworth bakery right now 😅 I'll get this done and up by this evening. Hope all's well at your end.
  16. Another contentious win resulting from an umpiring / arc shizen fest
  17. Dog's wld be up 91 - 89 without the false mark behind the goal line decision
  18. Duryea's kicking has been shizen
