  2. Great goal and nice link up vision / awareness from Clarry
  3. West Coast player runs alongside ANB....50 meters every day..no free kick. Harmes called twice against the Hawks for similar!!
  4. Perfect low tackle by Harmes....weagle drops.ro ground ...umpire finds a free ...Duck off.. ...West Coast can throw and flick ball around....no free.. as soon as he spots 1 from us...throwing the ball! How biased is this!!!!!?????
  5. Tracc! 1 and 3 now time to even it up mate
  6. What the duck was that free ... Frosty wasn't even looking at Kennedy!
  7. A sedative might be the better of the two DD
  8. Partly what Yeater is saying here DJ ?? Marking power & ball retention inside 50. We are the worst at it in 2019. And we arent always going to see a flat dirty ball coming in. As Yeater says there's gonna be some bombing...can't change old habits completely in 5 days. Petty won't help us here. A few other reasons.... - Insurance against Maxy needing back up and relief. His around ground game outside of center bounces last week was as low (output wise) as I've seen in a long time (probably since we last played Coasters in the prelim). The FD would also have seen that. Petty does not offer that. - Pruess up forward offers us versatility / flexibility elsewhere with others that Petty does not. T-mac can go back if needed (injury to Omac or Frosty....or another abominable display early from both...like we saw in the prelim). - Pruess has runs on the board at AFL level and i presently rank him well within our best 22. Petty at this point is too big a risk with so much on the line (if we were sitting pretty at 5-3 maybe but even then...not against the reigning premiers). Overall, unless match ups/conditions absolutely scream "Petty" all the way... Pruess is a lock (vs Petty).
  9. I suspect Pruess will come in for Petty
  10. A change up in game style and structure post Richmond. Goody finally re-assessed after the Saints and has the players playing a much better brand defensively having been able to reset with the 10 day break post Richmond. Confidence, belief and most importantly the mid field (aside from Gus) have grown another leg and sees us hitting our best form since the semi against the Hawks. The biggest loss in the outs from last week are Melk and Hibb who both started to show some really good form. Can we cover those two off with the ins? Smith, Jeffy, ANB, Gus, Maxy and T-mac will need to fire to have any chance. If they do, this will be a coin flip and we continue on our good form with three in a row . If not the Eagles by 3 to 4. My gut feel is the mid field hitting their best form for quite a while will just get us over the line. Demons by a kick (or two!)
  11. Post Ins/Outs ? 8.98 8.60 ? Post Ins/Outs ? 8.36 *Omitted this round
  12. Snaring* .. bloody word predictor ?
  13. Haven't read much of this thread and knowledge on mid season virtually nil....are we any chance of sharing Adam Tip or not even in the picture?
  14. If the AFL truly want it as 666 then they will need to add something to the rules to kill off the bench bolter ASAP. Teams could even try for 2 or 3 bolters in the last few center bounces and the game will then become a farce with potentially only 15/16 players starting on the field. Clever thinking by Woosh or someone on his panel.
  15. Fabulous to hear DG. I think we are gradually building a very tight nit unit down at Demon HQ. In fact, injuries aside, i would say it's pretty much upon us (as a club) as we speak. Momentum (belief / confidence / enjoyment of the game) is growing before our eyes since the match against the Hawks. I have a funny feeling that IF, and it's a very big IF, we can get our act together with more connection up forward we will go very close out west on Friday evening and might even snag three in a row!
  16. Believe he started to find a bit in the 2nd half vs the Hawks Bin. His form might be partly delivery based but isn't clunking as many either compared to last season so far. Mi50 averages 2018 ? 2.88 vs 2019 ? 1.38 ? 52% Possibly the fact he is getting the opps best defender this season vs the 2nd string (most of the time?) in 2018 courtesy of Hogan.
  17. Excellent work Biff!
  18. Spot on although i would argue a combination of poor form from forwards (not leading to right spots, not clunking marks) as well as a bit too much "no look" bombing from Clarry I guess what I'm saying is...the game plan/style mostly ok. Where it may have fallen down badly was a lack of speedier/skilfull players on the outside to receive from Clarry (and other inside mids) and finish better coming inside 50. Instead Clarry and the other mids (Gus, Chunk), who arent necessarily the most skillfull, felt they needed to do it all instead of giving it off to better ball users OR we just didn't have players offering themselves up on enough occasions for the outside receive. Up to the match against the Hawks IMO we weren't playing our best ball users in the most damaging positions and this added to our despicable inside 50 results...or lack of! As a team we wouldn't look as bad in those numbers if the forward line had been doing their bit to a much higher standard, particularly the KPFs (one no longer playing seniors for now) AND we had fixed the outside receiver (best ball users) issue earlier than the Hawks match. Give it another 4 rounds.... and compare our first 6 rounds ranking vs Rnds 7 to 12 and you might see a very different outcome for the team. Clarry on the other hand would probably need to fix some of the junk disposals to see a significant change!
  19. Correct and too often does the same with handballs. Great at getting to the contest and getting the ball...fair bit of work to do with what happens after that.
  20. I don't think he's a big Demon fan DMM
  21. Wasn't that a fabulous finish for a 6 gamer DG! A rookie that's showing some real impact early. Very nice prospect indeed DG and a good news story this year. Flying under the radar so far too!
  22. By depth i'm talking about players we could bring in to replace those badly out of form prior to our change of game style from Rnd 7 against the Hawks. We had to keep playing many of those out of form hoping for a turn around but until the 10 day circuit breaker re-set of game style / structure by Goody & the FD into the Hawks match, you can't say we were doing well surely? There's still no obvious in form depth player to cover the likes of an out of form T-Mac or Weid. Hibb and Spargo. We had to bring in Jeffy to hopefully provide some crumbing goal scoring up forward but he's so out of form he still hasn't fired a shot (1 goal in three matches) and who was never in form at VFL level to start with...but very few alternatives. No direct replacements for an out of form Tracc, ANB (prior to his one solid performance against the Hawks which is hopefully a great sign of a turn around) and a continuing out of form Oscar. We might have snatched one or two more wins had we had similar depth to the Tiges to replace some of these roles early. We didn't and went 1 - 5 following that match and in a world of trouble prior to the 10 day break. The Tiges came in with a very similar injury issue to us....we lost. We have managed to piece together a vagabond team and change the structure / set ups to prevent the opp sling shoting over the back as per previously on the G, which is working so far. Most of our mids were in form and have picked up even further since the Richmond game as well. A credit to them and those that didn't falter or even upped their output on 2018 (eg., Salem, Clarry, Harmes, Frosty, Melk, Hunt, Maxy & JWags). A credit to Goody & the FD for changing things up and winning the last two backs against the wall. All good and happy with that. Just saying, had we had the extra depth to replace 'a few more' of those who were badly out of form earlier in the season we might have done a little better and now be sitting either just in or just outside the eight.
  23. Someone needs to cut off the head of whatever evil serpent is lurking around the club i reckon....
  24. The Tigers had a dream run with no significant number of injuries to top liners prior to this year for three to four seasons. Might having fewer chances to play at AFL level inadvertently have helped those at their VFL to develop/learn and mature to a point they were more capable of taking the step up to AFL level vs many of our depth players (and those of some other clubs)? Unfortunately our depth as been shown up as poor at best, with a few exceptions. Maybe in part for the exact opposite reasons?
